Basil Thai Cuisine

Ordered a lot of food right as they were closing. Red curry and pad Thai were excellent. Owner helped me bring out the many bags and even opened my door for me! Great place with great food.

Literally so good. All of the food is always good and they give you so much of it. Would suggest.

We love Basil Thai. The owners, Pong and Nit are very sweet. The Pad Thai, fried Rice, and Soups are incredible. My sons always get take out whenever they come back to town. I even deliver it to my son in Rochester if he come home. Generous portions. Highly recommend this restaurant

This is mainly takeout now, but wow is their food YUMMY!! I love their curry chicken and then there is a beef with peppers that is amazing. I have had both the red and green curry dishes. Delicious! Definitely give them a try. You will not be disappointed!

Pong and Nit are the nicest humans on the planet. Literally the kindest people ever. My boyfriend and I order from here from time to time and the food never disappoints & it always satisfies our Thai food cravings and keeps us coming back for more. Great prices, and very generous portion sizes. Love this place, will always recommend it!!

AWESOME Thai food… my husband and I have been ordering from there for years (and I mean YEARS) and they never disappoint. I have been to Thailand and this is the closest you can get. The owners are very sweet and they work very hard to give you the best meal possible. Whenever a family/friend asks about best restaurants around… we always recommend Basil… great for takeout. If you haven’t been, you NEED to go! And to top it off, their daughter went to SJFC! Go Cardinals!

I’ve only ever ordered the same dish.. the R1 with chicken, medium spice. It was referred to me by my brother who also only gets the same thing. But I think the consistency of that one dish says a lot. First off it’s a big portion so I always have lunch for the next day. Secondly it’s very good and the spice level is perfect, even my 9 year old asks to share “my” dinner.

Basil Thai is excellent. They are consistently timely with their takeout service, the prices are reasonable with respect to your portion sizes, the quality of food is consistently good, and they're a very friendly, family-run business! I love the panang curry, and I'd recommend it to anyone who hasn't explored Thai food before. Support local family-owned businesses and get some curry here. You'll be glad you did. 😁

Wonderful food!! Portions are very generous. The owners are incredibly friendly and eager to please their customers. They cook everything as it is ordered. My 2 sons who are away at college miss it so much, it’s one of their first stops when returning home.

We come here for takeout regularly. I love the pad Thai and the fried rice. The hot-ness ratings are milder than other Thai places, but are consistent with every visit: mild, medium, hot, extra hot, super hot (🔥). Very friendly family running the place, who always offer a welcoming atmosphere, despot the language barrier. :) Finally, the prices are VERY reasonable, being literally 1/3 less than another Thai place down the road. My wife and I can both eat for less than $25, and we often have enough left over for me to bring for lunch the next day.

My family and I love this place. It's owned and operated by two (extremely nice) people so if they are busy some patience is needed, but the food is awesome. We don't stray far from our favorites (hot green curry with chicken, medium Pad Naam Mun Hoi with chicken, and curry puffs) so I can't comment too much on the broader menu, but we need our fix every few weeks. Highly recommend.

When I first moved to the Syracuse area from a place with amazing Thai food (LA) I quickly despaired of finding any good Thai food in the area. Place after place was bland, inauthentic and borderline inedible. I stopped eating Thai even though it is by far my favorite food in the world. And then...on a lark I gave one more place a try, my pallet desperate for just one pad thai that I could actually eat. I stepped in, ordered my food and cautiously.. .tentatively...took my first bite. Oh the joy! OH THE JOY!!!! The food was cooked perfectly! Each element was perfectly made; and each would have made a perfect dish on its own. The chicken in the pad thai is some of the best chicken I've ever had. I've now gone back many times and slowly made my way through the menu and each time I go is just as good, if not better then before. The owners are some of the nicest, hardworking people you will ever meet and you can tell that their restaurant isn't just a means of making a livelihood, it is a way to convey joy to the community. My one complaint is that it isn't better known! If people knew how good this place was it would be in magazines, with lines out the door. Don't let the small out of the way location fool you, the best Thai food in upstate New York lies inside. It's well worth the 20 minute drive from Syracuse. It would be worth driving an hour...two hours to get there. If you love Thai food you have to come here!

This was my 1st time eating authentic Thai food and I was not disappointed Everything I ordered was fresh and delicious I plan on going back quite often. Everything was delicious I plan on trying everything on the menu I highly recommend anybody to try this place

Basil is hands down the best Thai around! The couple that runs the place is so sunny and friendly, the restaurant as a whole is just my very favorite. I always get the tofu pad Thai, or a salad and spring rolls.. it’s all phenomenal! Thank you Basil!
