Doctors Behavioral Health Center

I have had to deal with a health situation where I have been a patient here and a family member helping another patient through here so I wanted to give a review. Please realize some people will view their experience here as horrible simply because they have been placed against their will. The staff were very professional. Their groups are also one of the better ones I have been to.

Now as a person from the outside. Even with an advance directive someone would have to sign a release in order for you to get information. When that release has been signed they keep you informed on what’s going on with your loved one.

If you need help you need help and if your family member needs help they need help. This facility was clean and they do their best to address the needs of those in the facility and make sure you are ok and set up with a plan before you leave. They also take how you feel into consideration which isn’t very common.

This facility also isn’t to be mistaken for the regular hospital which is on a different street

I came in September of last year. The nurses were all very nice and were very willing to help me cope and were soothing and helpful. I will never forget one nurse in particular who went above and beyond the call of duty and just was funny and kind. It’s easy to look at what’s wrong at a mental hospital and say this happened and how dare they but the truth of the matter is they saved my life more times than once and they cared. They listened. They allowed visits from friends and family. They allowed my family to bring me clothes. I have been hospitalized over eight times in my life all across the country and this place was really structured and helpful. I liked that it was just women in the ward. Sometimes it’s easy to look at a place and see the problems but they fed three delicious meals a day. Provided snacks and water not to mention art therapy and outside time. They were good about meds and allowing me to rehabilitate into the community again.

My son is being treated there. His social worker Ivonne and the nursing staff at his unit have been really good to communicate with! Great place!

I'm not really sure where the 1s are coming from; the staff is helpful, the food is great, and they even allow 2 entire hours for visitation!!

In short, this facility has my gratitude :)

I had 2 sons there i wanna thank the nurses there for there great job both boys got better one son there more than a month an now stable thank you

I was sent here against my own will, I didn't even know what that place was, it was single-handedly one of the worst experiences of my life. But it helped me a lot. Never have gone back. The council I saw, suggested I go here, didn't explain to be what it was. Just left me there, I was scared. I didn't know hat was going on, but I left there after the longest 9 hours of my life. Shaking, scared, unaware... but I decided I wanted my life back. Since then I've fought daily to keep who I am, to be who I want to be, and not never go back. Staff was nice, but they thought I'd harm someone which I'd never do, I guess that's how things work inside that place.

I was recently there, and, outside normal life's glitches I' was well taken care of, I'm grateful for all their services, thank you

Okay I went to report abuse but I ended up forgetting. I liked the treatment though

It was alright but trying to get your own information when calling is like pulling teeth. They're very rude on the phone and very uncooperative. Even my social worker had the same rude treatment on the phone when trying to send another patient there. Very disappointed in that they do not do much therapy while I was in there either. Just have either sleeping in your room, walking around in there or sitting in the tv rec room where you also just eat.

This facility has gone through changes. Now owned by Tenet who owns Doctors Hospital.
I have had several experiences here, with myself and friends.
There can be improvements in following agreed plans as originally agreed upon. Writing diagnosises in charts and billing within a reasonable time.

The front lobby receptionist named Andrea, very nice and helpful.

Therapists have their use but it is limited. Meditation, silent awaring will take you above what any therapy can provide. So look into therapy but also non duality meditation.
As for this place, it should not have involuntary hospitalization. Until individual conciousness of our species changes mental illness will be treated with many types of therapy and drugs but that is changing. Ego is suffering, Awareness aware of itself is liberation from the known. Psychological suffering can dissolve in an instant, Advaita Vedanta.

I have been there 3 different times. The 1st two were very good treatments. I went in late march and this time was horrible. I felt like I was being force into going to group etc. When I wasnt "ready" to meet with people or threapiest. The staff was very good with me.

After my mother tried to commit suicide she was taken by police and put therewhere she managed to bite the tip of her tongue off and break her finger which neither were fixed or looked at by a Dr.... After four weeks of "treatment" she gets her finger looked at and it's too late to fix and the end of her tongue has fallen off. She was diagnosed schizophrenia and was sent home with direction from one Dr and then her perscrptions said another.. It has been 3 weeks since she's been out and still fighting for the right RX and a psychiatrist with no help from this CENTER.. In the mean time she could be a harm to herself and or a harm to others. GET IT TOGETHER.. You can't just take people in the release them into the world with no direction and leave them alone. My mother was in this center two years ago for alcohol abuse and was treated better and with dignity. So whatever has changed from two years ago is not good. When u have a loved one with mental health issues you need a place u can tryst to help them decide what they need not just pump. Them full of drugs and send them on their way
