Kanji Japanese Steakhouse

My wife and I stopped in for dinner, my first time here. Our server was very polite and kind, she took good care of us through our dinner. The food was great and we will definitely be back again soon!

Free refills on the ginger sauce for the win. Dinner and a show! How can you go wrong? We were pleasantly surprised. In town for a concert, looking for good food that was fast. I got the fillet and shrimp hibachi. It was a feast. Cooked superbly, everything tasted great. The chef was fun and the sake was hot! Do recommend the ginger sauce. I could drink it and thought yum yum would own the day but was absolutely wrong.

Such a nice evening. We went for my twin daughters' third birthday. Our waitress was as attentive and proactive as you could possibly want. She brought little spoons for the girls without being asked, which is exactly what they needed, and was on the ball in every other way. too. The birthday stuff they do is very generous and personal, and even took and printed a photo for us with a handwritten note.

Our chef was hilarious and very good at his craft. I engaged him in some conversation and he proved to be personable and interesting. The food is top notch, especially the sushi. It's hard to find sushi this good even in Columbus.

Food was delicious and the show was very entertaining at the grill. Pricey, as most Japanese grills are, but the portions are HUGE and the food was definitely worth it. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Stopped in to the bar here for a Sapporo, miso soup, and a sashimi sampler. This place has an excellent atmosphere, and everyone working here is extremely kind and fun to talk to. I almost didn't want to leave when I was done. I am definitely looking forward to my return trip soon! I highly recommend their hibachi as well, it is an incredible value, and I typically have enough for two meals or more. Hard to beat!

My family and I have been going to Kanji Japanese Steakhouse since its opening. They have quickly carved out a space at the top of our list as the best Japanese hibachi around. Keep in mind as you read this review that I have never developed a taste for sushi, so this will focus on other menu items, and I cannot attest to their sushi. From what I understand from others that have gone with us and sampled the sushi, they make a great roll as well!

The atmosphere is comfortable and fits the dining experience well. If you elect to dine at one of the hibachis, you will be treated to a show during the meal prep. While there is nothing different from the cooking show that sets Kanji apart from other similar restaurants, they keep it fun and exciting, and it is never dull. If you prefer to just order straight from menu and have a quiet dining experience, they have an excellent bar area that better allows for conversation and peaceful dining.

Now let’s talk about why Kanji is atop of my “must go” eateries. The food selection is generous, and the hibachi offerings are numerous. You can mix and match your proteins and take advantage of vegetarian options as well. Each hibachi meal comes with a salad and clear soup. Do yourself a favor and get your salad with the ginger dressing! It is delicious and pairs great with any meal. Each main course hibachi also comes with rice, vegetables, and bean sprouts. Kanji has found a fantastic blend of seasoning for their meals which is what sets them apart from some of the other steak houses that I have experienced.

The experience was typical hibachi style as well as a great time! The food was fresh and tasty. We love watching it cooked right in front of you, right before your eyes! The yum yum sauce is good as well as the ginger sauce; the ginger sauce really added another level of savory and flavor. We liked that the flat top was cleaned after parties left and felt the restaurant in general had great sanitary routines and overall cleanliness. The price is pretty normal but I will add is more like dinner prices for hibachi at lunch. I would recommend to anyone in the area who would like the experience I described.

We were in the area and decided to stop here. A lot of hibachis around Columbus have been disappointing but let me say this establishment was so nice. It was very well run, clean, fun chefs, and very good service & food. Thank you for providing a great dining experience that so many other hibachis no long do.

Have been to this particular Kanji several times. Went last week for my Mother's 88th bday. She loves it. Everyone is so awesome! Not sure what they have changed or just the particular chef but food was even more amazing than in the past. Can't wait to return!

Pricey.... But what isn't nowadays. Very good food. Cuts of meat were visibly better than most other Japanese Steakhouses. Generous portions. You'll probably be taking some home.

This is just a fun and delicious place to have family dinner night. We had laughs, scares, and just enjoyed everything. Everyone who works here was kind and professional.

Great food, huge portions and great service. Very entertaining chef. We ended up taking home leftovers and had an additional 4 meals! Food was flavorful, not heavy but fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very, very clean.

Fun atmosphere, wonderful, entertaining chef's and yummy, yummy food! Way more than enough for one average person to eat- plenty to take home! Try the Yum-yum sauce!
