Modesto's First Dog Park

Love the park and the open space it offers my dog to roam freely, wish some fellow dog owners would pay a little more mind to their dogs and pick up their waste and also teach how to disengage as in leave other dogs alone. Also if your dog isn't vaccinated and friendly don't bring them. I understand the park is next to a park. But is there anything that can be done about the mosquito infestation??

recommend bringing rubber balls vs tennis balls if your dog likes to play, the sand will make the ball soooo gross otherwise

I’ve left a few times because people weren’t managing their dogs, but usually it’s a pretty great experience.

For the most part, all the dog owners are good. The park seems well maintained and my dogs seem to love coming here. A while ago there weren't any poop bags, but now they always have them, which is nice. I normally bring my own bags anyways, but in the event that I do forget, it's nice to know that they have one. They do separate the park into a small/large dog area, which is also a plus.

Great park with a pretty decent sized area for large dogs. My two huskies love running around everywhere and meeting new dogs as well. They met quite a few new friends and will be coming here more often. Everyone I met was nice and there's everything they really need which is just bags and water for em. Almost the whole area is shaded by large trees.

Dogs love, people love it. I think people actually love it more than the dogs. Lots of room for the big dogs to roam and play. Little dogs get their own large, secure area, plus the small dog people get their own large, cement table and benches in the shade. It's well used! While the big dog area does not enjoy a large table, there are several benches to rest on. The park is well maintained and a good location with drinking water for people and their furry, four legged friends. Plus, doggie bags and safe receptacles. The bonus, it's next to MID's canal for a drink and a swim following a hard days play!

My dogs absolutely love the freedom to run, play and socialize. We're there 5 or 6 times a week. The park is clean and well maintained, the dog owners are all respectful and friendly.

This place is well loved by the locals. Lots of friendly people and dogs. We go all the time.

Fairly clean and maintained dog park. I can't say much about the small dog side, but the large dog side has adequate shade and benches to be able to sit and watch my dog have fun with others.

Opens early, clean, and awsome welcoming dog owners to socialize with. Always makes my morning more relaxing and of course my dog 🐕 is always excited to go and takes a long nap when she gets home. Nice environment. It is a small dog park area for the little ones separated by gate with a larger area for big dogs. Big enough that some people walk around park repeatedly to work out while their dogs play. Also have automatic water dispensers for dog and bags to clean up after the animals. Nice little spot.

I love this dog park! It has large shade trees, some places to sit, grass, and wood shavings. It usually is clean and stocked with poop bags to make it easy to clean up after your dog. Most of the time people are friendly and dogs are too. There is a nice section for small dogs and a separate place for larger ones. I this this is the best dog park in Modesto!

Great dog park lots of space and it's popular enough to where there's plenty of dogs to play. The only complaint I really have is the ground type. it's sort of like a wood chip dirt mix which is great for the dogs the only issue is because of the color its kind of tough to find any droppings your dogs might leave so it quickly becomes a treasure hunt. Other than that excellent Park.

Ellie had a blast. There is a small and a large side to the dog park. Seems well maintained and clean.

My dogs aren't as socialized as I would like, though not aggressive, they/I am a bit timid when other dogs are around. This place offers so much for everyone! It's big enough to enjoy a corner while your dogs acclimate and the other dog parents have always been kind and attentive to their animals. I've never had a bad experience.

It's a nice park with a small dog section and a large dog section that is very spacious. It is encouraged to bring doggy bags to pick up after your dog. Petco and Petsmart sell them.
Quite a few regulars go there. My Beagle enjoys both parks.

We go every day. My dog loves playing with friends. It's a clean park, has water and everyone helps with toilet bags and it's great for our dog.
I recommend 100% for other dog parents

Very nice dog park my dogs enjoy it as well as I would advise everyone and all to go out and give it a try nice part and don't forget to take a few pictures of our kids playing and having fun that's the dogs

After all the rain recently I was not looking forward to going to the wet and dirty dog park. To my surprise in wasn't really wet or dirty! They have recently added a lot of new bark, filling in many low areas and even the holes. The bark was damp but there wasn't any standing water or mud puddles. It was very enjoyable!
