Fairbanks Memorial Hospital

Phil the xray tech was fantastic. My 10 year old was in the ER for a hand injury. He asked afterwards if she had ever had an xray. She has not. He showed her all of the images and explained to her which image showed what (not diagnosing anything). This is the image from when you put your hand this way etc. Very nice guy! It was so cute and we are thankful he took time out of his day to do that. Kudos.

I've had both my babies here and had two incredibly different experiences - my first was born via C-section while I had COVID, and we didn't get nearly the support needed, presumably because I was sick and staff was limited.
We went back in April for my second and I couldn't believe the difference. All of our nurses were professional, compassionate, and skilled. They were so helpful with the entire process, from labor to breastfeeding to supporting our jaundice baby. I credit the success we've had with breastfeeding to Miss Kathy. She came in as many times as she was able and took such good care of us when we needed it.
I think of our nursing team often and am so thankful for them.

Recently had our first baby at this hospital and was very nervous and had a lot of anxiety about it, but let me tell you I kept looking for a nurse to show up to be bad and every single one was perfect and on top of it, our birth was not easy and everyone there was just so perfect and getting it done. I've never seen such a smooth operation and wonderful hospital I will have all my babies there.

So far I have good experiences. One bad experience:Once radiologist was young and idk wht she did to me while vaginal ultrasound I never peed the same after tht. I told her it hurt as well and she kept going more back. Other than that cafeteria hospital food has been my comfort food throughout my pregnancy. Didn't cook this year thank dinner we came here as well it was good also. Little of everything. Nurses tht work ER are nice

South2, ER and ICU, you are all amazing. My son was cared for with such kindness and compassion. Taylor, you know, we thank you and your CNA. Those last hours were precious. Dr Leavey and Dr Creighton, thank you for you kindness and honesty. All of you are held in highest regard.

I just gave birth at this hospital and I can not discribe in words how amazing or how helpful the people working maternity are.
Constant empathetic care around the clock! My baby was so safe here. My life was safe in there hands.
They made daily hourly visits to my room to help me in different techniques in breast feeding. Gave me information on my daughter I didn't think to ask. I couldnt be happier in there care.
Food is probably nutritional but as per the norm it was not appetizing.

Doc got up in them guts today. I didn't feel violated, I instead felt super comfy and safe the whole time. From the time I walked through the entrance until the time I left the building. Everything was in and out super easy squeezy. If your a dude go get your pipe work done. It supoorts local business and it's healthy for you. Thanks Doc, and to the support team thank you for being professionals, my apologies. 😊

I had unusual chest pain and went to the emergency room just in case. Within 5 minutes they have me in a room. Within 10 minutes they had done an EKG. Within 15 minutes I had seen a doctor, who along with nurse, Brett, explained everything and ordered labs and a chest x-ray. Results were back very promptly, and I was out the door in less than 2 hours, feeling very reassured and well taken care of. Certainly the best emergency care I've ever had.

We’ve had to bring my toddler here twice. Once in November and just 2 days ago. The staff at the front desk is super friendly and the check in was seamless. The triage nurse(s) were just as friendly and efficient. Then finally while in the room, the nurse and doctor were caring, great bed side manner. And both times we were out in such a short time. No long 3 hour waits. Thank you FMH!

I just had my third baby here and all the staff have been great, helpful, knowledgeable, and extremely caring! My birth was amazing and exactly how I wanted it to go. Thank you so much FMH☺

We recently finished an Alaskan cruise in Fairbanks and my 87 year old father was getting very short on breath. We debated taking him to Seattle or Fairbanks to get checked. We decided to get him treated at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. What a GREAT choice! The entire staff, nurses and Doctors from the minute we arrived have been incredibly kind and service oriented. Need care in Alaska? Trust Fairbanks Memorial you won’t be disappointed. Big city amenities small town service. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Kyle Kempton

Every time I go which is 2 to 3 times a week everybody's friendly nice it's clean very helpful to me.

I went in at 3:45 am, 2/3/2019, Sunday morning after having a sharp pain in my liver area after 12 hours. Not being able to sleep, pale, extremely weak, had the chills, vomiting and feeling constipated. I never go to the doctors for anything but I knew something wasn't right. I woke my wife up and we went to the ER. They got me in right away. My pain level was about a 7 and they got me some pain killers right away. They ran a CT scan and with in 30 minutes, they found out I had Appendicitis. They were getting prepped for surgery but unfortunately it was during a change of shift. The new nurses forgot about me for a little bit but once I paged them they were on it and got me into surgery with in the hour. The nurses, doctors, surgeons and anesthesiologist were very communicative and treated me very well. They completed the surgery around 12 pm I think and I was able to go home shortly after I woke up from the surgery. I felt amazing. Sore but I felt like a new person. Thank you guys so much!! My wife and I are so greatful for the great service you all have provided. I wish I remembered all of the people's names who were involved but if you can find out, give them all rewards!! Thank you again

We were visiting Alaska from Canada and my husband felt sick. Being doctors ourselves, we knew that this was something that needed ER visit. We were amazed at the care we received. The ER doctor and nurses were professional, treated us with respect and gave timely and appropriate care. Even the parking was free! World over, the healthcare facilities are stretched to their limits but this was excellent care. Thank you, the ER team of the early morning of 9 September '21.

Outstanding.! Ok back home and time to reflect on our experience after about a months time. The entire staff from the emergency room check in to the lunchroom cashier could not have been anymore professional and friendly to our family. We really appreciated the personalized service and treatment by all.. Thank You again.

A little over a month ago, my wife gave birth to our beautiful daughter. The staff were kind, compassionate and respectful. We are so grateful for all the care of FMH and my wife and I both agree Dr rader is truly the best!!!!!!!!

I just got out of the hospital for appendicitis (and subsequent appendectomy). The treatment I received, from the ultrasound to the CT scan, from the ER to an overnight stay in a hospital room, and my surgery and recovery, I was treated with warm, friendly faces and professional care.

All of the staff gave me detailed descriptions of the procedures I would receive so I knew what to expect and felt comfortable with the treatment I was to undergo. The surgeon, Dr. Conley was kind, confident, and I was left with confidence that the procedure would go well, and it did!

Additionally, PA Conley at Tanana Valley Clinic (also a Foundation Health partner) did a great job triaging my abdominal pain and recommending the right tests to diagnose my appendicitis.

The hospital staff is amazing here. We are from out of town and had to bring my mom to be looked at for breathing issues. We were in/out in 2 hours. Each and every person we met, from the reception to the doctors were very caring and thorough. Awesome hospital!

I had outpatient surgery today and from the moment I checked in to walking out, I received excellent care! My perianesthesia nurse Eileen was wonderful, OR nurse Kyle was outstanding, recovery nurse Kimberly amazing, my anesthesiologist Dr. Quirk was superb and Dr. Lawrason performed my procedure with excellence. I woke up in zero pain and 4hrs later I can't even tell I underwent anesthesia and surgery. I feel great. I was given the best care! In addition, the facility was beautiful. It was clean, comfortable and state of the art. I am proud and thankful to have this facility in our community 💜
