Best and freshest sushi in the Hampton Roads peninsula/Yorktown/Newport News area/Gloucester area!! Recently moved up to the area and in search for my go-to sushi restaurant. Kero is the place!! Exceptional service and amazing sushi rolls. My favs are Dancing Tuna Roll, Twin Tower Roll, and X-Mas Roll. If you are looking for a delicious sushi restaurant with a robust menu, Kero Sushi & Japanese Restaurant is the place!! Highly recommended!!

best sushi lunch special in the area! staff is always friendly and efficient. great ginger dressing for the salad, fish is always fresh. large selection of specialty rolls. the shumai and gyoza are great and its the best price anywhere around. highly recommend.

Freshest sushi ever. The owners must love sushi cause the quality show and even better it taste high quality. The waitresses are very professional and attentive.

Excellent food and service. Prices are fair and reasonable. A true hidden gem right here in York County. My wife and I had the Chicken Terriyaki Box for lunch.

Best sushi in town. We enjoyed a nice hot pot of green tea, edamame, and tempura for an appetizer. Sushi and hibachi were delicious. The miso soup is so good. They offer take out and to go, which is well packaged and arrives with perfect timing. Delicious food and the staff are beyond friendly and know their regulars.

What a little gem , we came here for lunch for the first time and I got to say, the service, the atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious . I got the chicken hibachi meal, everything was full of flavor, the salad was tasty and crisp, the California rolls were fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant in Newport News. Excellent service.

Worth every penny!.Fresh and tasty cuts of fish. They had Toro, I finally got to try it. It is definitely the wagyu of the sea.
Our food came out pretty quick and love that they entice you with rolls that are seen on TV. We will definitely be going back.

Excellent customer service. The waitress was hilarious. She came out to the table with our second order of tempura shrimp and vegetables and said "We had a change of chefs, this chef was skinny so the shrimp are skinny." LOL love it! The volcano roll was amazing and the ginger house salad was great. The rainbow roll was a little off from what I would expect. It wasn't as cold as you would expect from fresh sushi but it was alright. This was a great experience, considering our regular place was closed tonight. Thanks Kero Sushi! :D

This is my favorite place for sushi! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I always get the same thing every time: salmon skin roll, crab Maki and shrimp tempura roll. I've been hooked on their Spicy Kero Seafood soup lately. Give them a try and I'm sure you'll be back!

They have the best lunch specials around and the absolute best gyoza in the 757. You can't beat the price for the quality you're getting. The yakisoba is delicious and their sushi is fresh! I can't wait to come back again!

The lunch special (sushi) and special rolls are AMAZING. By far, the best sushi I've had in a long time! Great prices, too.
Edit: Since my original post, we have been here MANY times. It's the best sushi place in town. We love the staff and the food is fantastic every time we go. I highly recommend eating here if you love sushi (Our favorite roll is The Independence Roll - we order two. Our daughter loves the Gyoza).

The restaurant was very clean and well lit. Staff was extremely nice and service was excellent. Food was really good and also a very large portion. Over all it was a great dining experience.

The food and sushi were excellent. Our waitress was very nice but we waited a while to be seated and then afterwards. Just not very organized. Almost seems like there are more guys doing sushi then waitresses. I will definitely be back! We had the chicken teriyaki (super tender), ebi and crab stick sushi. Haikkado roll and Sake. The steak hibachi my daughter had was a little dry and over cooked but she still like the flavor.

Outstanding sushi! I tried several things, all of which were delicious and very affordable. Pretty much everything I ordered was raw fish and it was all very fresh and good quality. I wish I lived in the area - I would be a regular here

My husband and I have eaten at Kero since they opened and it's the only sushi place we go to. The food and atmosphere are great, and the staff is wonderful! ❤

best sushi chefs, perfect cuts and presentation. waitresses are all helpful and very attentive. the chicken katsu with fried rice is the best.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch for my birthday. Was not disappointed! I had the volcano roll, angel roll and crab maki and all were excellent! Wait staff was very kind and attentive. Will definitely be back here when we are back in this area!

I went here for homecoming 2019 and the sushi was super good! The overall experience and atmosphere was good. It was a little pricy, but definitely good sushi! Another positive was presentation, the food looked very appealing to the eye. I’ll be coming back!

The food is delicious the service not so nice. I was served soup and only when I asked for fried noodles did she begrudgingly bring them. A little training goes a long way.
