Surf Rider Restaurant

The crab dip and tuna bites were 🔥! I eat all over the world, and these may have been the best I've ever had! The platter was delicious as well. The waitress was nice but SLOW, but the food made up for it.

The restaurant itself is spacious and in a great location with beautiful views. Parking is a little challenging. The service was top notch. My shrimp basket was amazing for the price... but that Mango Colada was truly on point!

If you want a very very nice relaxing atmosphere by water with a great view of boats, the marina, etc. and of yeah, great food this establishment is great. You get a very nice serving at a good price. Everything I had was delicious and ate lol every last bit of it (Shrimp Alfredo with White Wine, Penne pasta. Shrimp is jumbo size with a Caesar Salad and Texas Toast on the side) Employees were also very professional and courteous not to mention prompt. And a huge kudos to Maddie who made me feel "at home" from the moment I came in. I definitely plan on returning 😁🌝💪🏿

The food was good. It wasn't omg I have to go back but I really enjoyed my experience. The crab dip with those pita chips was absolutely awesome. A MUST TRY!!!! But even though I saw a lot of families coming in later on I would definitely go for a date night if seated next to a window. The outlook on the water was so beautiful and I could only imagine it at night time.

First time going to Surf Rider in Hampton, VA. Make sure you go early. The restaurant fills up pretty quickly. Food was very food. I took 1 star off for the hush puppies. They were overcooked and hard. Didn't complain about them, just didn't eat them. Nice naturical theme. Outdoor deck. Beautiful views of the water

Visited this restaurant a few weeks ago for a very special family gathering. I met my sisters, and, and uncle for the first time. The ambience was very nice. I love that their club members were outside taking a swim. I love the water so the views are awesome to me. Our waitress was very polite and patient even though she was extremely busy. She answered all questions about the menu which was nice. The food was top notch. My salad was so fresh and the homemade vinegarette was mouth watering. I ordered two meals so that I could take one to lunch the following day. I had the Tuna steak Alfredo and the steak and shrimp. Everything was good. There was no wait and the prices were exquisite. Many restaurants have had to pass on their hike in costs on to their patrons. This is not the case at Surf Rider. Will be going back soon. What are you waiting for?

Excellent choice. Wanted a little of the east coast experience on our journey this weekend to Hampton, Virginia. Service was exceptional. Food choices are varied with great seafood options. Diner feel makes it very quaint and cozy. Nice crowd on a Sunday after church but not over crowded. Reasonable pricing. Worth every moment! Thanks! See you next year!

The fried fish batter so light. Hush puppies on point. Everything fried was tasty, just right and fresh (no crossing of flavors from oil). Went for the bucket beverage, worth every cent! A great menu and daily specials, made it so difficult to chose just 1 item!!

I always enjoy eating at Surf Rider in Hampton, VA. The view from eating on the water is beautiful. The food is always great and the servers are always nice and friendly. If you order an appetizer, you have to try the warm Crab Dip with pita bread. It is the best I ever tasted. My favorite seafood dish is the broiled flounder with drawn butter. I also like the hamburger steaks as well. We always choose to eat here for birthdays and when family comes to visit.

It was a beautiful day and wanted a seafood meal outside on the water. We looked up local seafood restaurants and found Surf Rider, this was an excellent choice, the view, food and servers all top notch, It was lunch time and were both very hungry, we started off with the sweet & spicy shrimp, she ordered the Baja fish Tacos & I the Oyster PO' Boy Oyster sandwich, I had so many Oysters that I ate half, and she ate two of the three Taco's and brought the rest home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and definitely will be back this summer for another wonderful experience.

Best fried clam strips in the Commonwealth of Virginia! One of my favs... never disappoints!

We loved everything about our time at this restaurant. Our food was perfect. Our waitress and the hostess was so friendly. We waived bye to the cooks and they were nice too! 😁😁😁💛🥗🦪

My first time to Surf Rider Hampton. Excellent service and the food was so fresh, tasty, perfectly seasoned. I truly enjoyed the view on the patio. 😊💜

We finally got to come back to the Surf Rider in Hampton tonight. A few months ago we went to the Surf Rider near Chesapeake Square because it is closer to us and it was horrible. You can read my review on that place also. The Hampton Surf Rider is 100% better and definitely worth the drive. We were immediately sat at an outside table thanks to the hostess. She was very helpful. It was a pretty busy night and all tables had been sat. The waitress took our food and drink order in a timely manner and was very friendly and took care of us. The food was amazing. We ordered the She Crab soup (perfect), the fried shrimp platter and fried oyster platter with sides (perfect again). The cooking staff must be amazing. We had such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great night out with great food and wonderful service and atmosphere.

My dining experience was excellent. This was my second visit to this restaurant and my food was excellent. I love the ambiance, the view was amazing and my waitress Megan, the bartender was AWESOME, very friendly, personable and courteous and the service was just top notch. I bought my cousin with me, who was visiting from out of town and she loved it. Thank you for a wonderful meal, scallops and broccoli that were seasoned to perfection. The drinks were awesome also, and the restaurant was clean, music very pleasant and I received excellent customer service. Hats off to Megan, Mary and the whole Surfrider crew!!!! I will definitely be back!!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I love this place, GREAT fresh seafood at a reasonable price (my opinion). We had the hit crab dip, ceasar salad, oysters, and sweet and spicy shrimp, seafood surf rider and a dirty Mary with some beers. Really good place to go after a long day.

Great food and fantastic service. We had a group of 7 and everyone was happy with their meal. I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in Hampton Roads! Get the sweet & spicy shrimp. You will not be disappointed!

Came in tonite for dinner. Food was fresh and amazing. Had the crab dip appetizer and it was delish! Had the bass and scallop special for entree. Kudos to the chef for covering it with she crab soup! Our waitress, KJ was so efficient. Suggested the special and dip and she was spot on. Efficient and friendly which is a rarity today. Will be back soon.

Wonderful dining experience. Patient, friendly and professional staff. Very conscious of COVID cleaning protocols. Mask worn, hand washing, menus, seats and tables wiped down after each use.
Then there was the food! I started with the crab dip! Creamy, hot, flavorful and lots of crab meat, absolutely delicious!
I ordered the Chesapeake burger - cooked to order, with a crab cake on top! Served hot and fresh with crispy, lightly salted fries. Mmmmm mmmm good! My Sister ordered the Shrimp po boy with tots and a side of broccoli or should I say a full head of broccoli and their signature hollandaise sauce. She didn't know where to begin! She was a very happy camper. We sent compliments to the chefs and our server Emily via the manager, Janea. Fast, friendly service and delicious food - definitely a winning combination!
