Excellent! My husband and I visited this hidden gem on 13 Jan 24. He ordered the lamb chops eggs and potatoes, I ordered the French toast banana fosters with sides eggs, corn beef hash, potatoes. Sooo good top tier, chef’s kiss! Make your way over there for some brunch….

Update: I visited this place again and had an amazing experience! I met one of the owners and he was truly amazing, very polite, and was very hospitable! I ordered the lambs chops, eggs, and grits. The food was superb and seasoned very well! There was no wait time to be seated and our food came out shortly after ordering. I was very impressed! I'll definitely be dining here again!

I dined here last week for brunch and can say that the food is absolutely amazing! The staff were very friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in! It's a very nice and chill atmosphere and is a little small in there. There was one server there and he was really nice and friendly. The food was very reasonably priced, well seasoned, and the portion sizes were great! I ordered the turkey sausage, waffles, seasoned potatoes and eggs with grits. The grits were different but had a lot of flavor! The seasoned potatoes were the highlight for me!! I loved it! I would love to try this place again. Also, they had a very nice mimosa menu!

My husband and I love it. It was our first time here, and I love it. Everything about this place was absolutely awesome. The waiter was extremely polite. She did a fantastic job. The cook/owner, oh my. I applaud him. It was very well put together. We love it. We will definitely be back.

This place is AMAZING! Food is delicious - I had a very simple breakfast (eggs, bacon, grits, coffee, toast) and they made something basic phenomenal - the bacon was thick, crisp & the grits were creamy, served with butter...daughter had French toast - it must've been 5 inches thick! Service was great - friendly staff. Atmosphere was comfortable. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

The food is a 10 out of 10! I will definitely be ordering again. The staff was very nice as well! This is now one of my favorite places to eat in the Hampton Roads area!

Cafe Milo is most definitely one of downtown Norfolk’s hidden secrets. The restaurant could probably seat around 25 people but that is what makes it so cozy. The waiter was helpful and kind. The chef was also great and those grits, whew… so yummy! My favorite was the banana foster French toast, they were TOP TIER! I definitely recommend.

I had a great lunch here. I had the French toast with bananas and a side of eggs. Also did an oat milk latte. Everything was outstanding! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Great spot and delicious French toast!

Small cafe, but excellent service and the food is amazing. We had to wait a little bit outside for a large enough table (there were five of us), but totally worth the wait. Plenty of vegan options as well.

Stopped in this morning for a quick drink. Their drink menu was fabulous with a wide variety of coffee and “adult beverages”. I had the cranberry mint mimosa and was pleasantly surprised. The mint sugar rim was absolutely the cherry on top. I was greeted immediately by a friendly server whos name i did not get however, I was served by Nick and had one of the best dining experiences. I would 10/10 recommend this quaint cafe hidden on Grace St. If you’re looking for vegan alternatives this place has everything you can dream of. I recommend asking for Nick as your server and ordering the avocado toast!

I am stuffed, actually I'm beyond stuffed!! I wanted to have brunch, but it seems as though all breakfast/brunch places in Norfolk, VA, close at 2pm. Thankfully, I was able to find this place called Cafe Milo @cafe.milo_va

I went with the French Toast and Chicken. My server mentioned that was a good choice, but suggested that I get it Banana Foster Style...😁...I did of,course, because I'm always willing to take recommendations from the people that work there....This was so sweet and savory, I really enjoyed the cooked bananas topped with walnuts. The French Toast was good, too, but it was just something about mixing the well seasoned chicken with the soft banana and walnuts. It's different but so good!

I also got a side of fruit, bacon, and sausage, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I asked her if the fruit came with some Tajin on top, and she was like "naw" 🤣 I know what I tasted it had some type of spice to it... You can see in the pictures that the fruit had something on it....Regardless, it was damn good!.

I've always asked what is brunch without a mimosa? Honestly, it's just regular ole breakfast to me, actually a Continental Breakfast. I was very pleased to see Cafe Milo had about 9 different Mimosa, but unfortunately, I had to limit myself to only 2 because of travel..🥴🥴
I started with the Pineapple/Watermelon and she did my mimosa right!! Very good champagne to juice ratio. Next, I had the Mimosa Rita, which had tequila in it . This was good, but the Pineapple/Watermelon was a hit for me. I want to try all of them, so hopefully, I can try the flight next time.

The Service:
They were very nice people here, as soon as I walked in, everyone spoke. This is no exaggeration. Literally, everyone spoke and welcomed me in. I strongly encourage everyone to visit this restaurant for good food, great service, and an all-around amazing time.

This is a Norfolk Best kept Secret. You know why cause I got lost finding it. It's like a NY breakfast spot. It's a small spot so the staff has extreme coordination going on. I found myself staring at someone's order of French Toast. That Bread was different like they ship it in from France or something. I Got Chicken and Waffles. My first time having real chicken and waffles. I sit at the bar and watch them cooking like I am at My cousins house. The Most diverse crowd in Norfolk. It's like if you know you know crowd. They all know Good Food. Coming back for that Wierd looking I bet it's Good As Hell French Toast.

Very nice, quirky little place near the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk. The food was great as was the atmosphere and service. We'll definitely be heading back there next time we are on the Southside!

Absolutely delicious. I’ve heard such great things about the place that I had to go and try it out for myself. Flavor of the chicken on the chicken & waffles was outstanding and definitely can tell it’s homemade batter. The French toast was also amazing! Highly recommend this place to anyone that’s craving a nice brunch!

The cook (Vicent) was amazing on too many levels😍. The food was great and we even ordered extra to go. Super friendly vibes and delicious food. Great way to end a short weekend trip.Milo’s Burger and fries… hands down one of the best burgers that I ever had.

Greeted upon entry and the service was amazing. Chicken and waffles were presented nice and hot! It it safe to say I Would certainly return in the near future to try additional menu specialties.

Last minute brunch. I went out on a limb and tried the vegan chicken sandwich with Lions Mane Mushroom. I am a carnivore but I like trying new things. I'm so glad I did! It was delicious. Wife ordered the lamb and eggs with potatoes. Lamb was overcooked, but that was probably a communication error (server probably heard med well instead of med rare). Her potatoes were so good they are addictive. And the mimosa Rita was a new drink for me. I will get it again.

Found this place off of Tik Tok and decided to give it a try for my birthday brunch. THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL! The food was great, customer service great, vibe was great.. one of the best black owned restaurants we have been to in a while!! Was able to meet with the owner and communicate frequently for deposit purposes, arrangement purposes, food purposes and his communication was AMAZING the whole time. He was always able to respond within an hour or two. This restaurant is on the smaller side but they were able to accommodate my party of 15 COMFORTABLY. THE BANANA FOSTER French toast is 1000/1000 and so are the chicken & waffles, grits, fries and corned beef hash (those are the only things I was able to try during this experience). The mimosas are a great size at a great price! Could not thank them enough. We will definitely be coming back regularly!!

If you’re ever in the Norfolk area, I would recommend eating here. The food was fantastic, the staff was great and friendly, and the prices were great! My boyfriend and I drove from NC for a show in town and wanted to eat somewhere that was not in NC. So glad we found this place. Keep up the great work. You guys were so nice and welcoming the minute we walked in.
