One of the most friendly VA hospitals that I have ever visited. Respectful and attentive to patient needs the staff are outstanding. Even though it is an older facility, the maintenance and housekeeping staff do an excellent job in keeping the facilities well maintained and clean.

Absolutely love getting all of my care here. Most people will hear nothing but negativity when it comes to the VA. I have never encountered it here. Great staff, clean facility.

Excellent docs, NPs, Social Workers (Tiffany), Transportation (Erica), Leadership, and others. Oh yeah, Nursing (Brenda Fink), Nutrition and Nutritionists (Sherry). They've saved my life. And Dr. Dunn (Physician).

I am extremely pleased with how the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV has handled the Covid-19 situation. They have taken all the necessary precautions to keep me safe when I visit. While I much prefer seeing my doctor in person, we have still been able to communicate through the telephone. The Urgent Care facility staff has been amazing throughout all this. I am thankful for the services I receive.

I'm rating this from my small business Google account so don't be fooled, this is a real person! My brother was admitted and we needed help advocating and Travis in the patient advocacy department was phenomenal. Very responsive, and we felt heard. We cannot complain about the care the this VA, we only contacted patient advocacy so that we had another set of eyes to make sure everything was being followed up on. Thank you MVAMC

Everyone at this place is helpful. From the guard at the guard shack, the nurse at the front counter of the ER, the other lady behind the other counter thet does your paperwork, the male physicians assistant to the male SSGT nurse. All angels.

Compared to another VA this place is top notch. It’s quiet, clean and I was helped in a timely manner. This is a VA a veteran can look forward to visiting. I’m transferring here

I have been with the va since ‘92 and have had a few doctors in my time. I found the best two right here in Martinsburg. They are doctors Tracey and Bruce. Two true professionals that know their “stuff”. Unfortunately I made a move south and I will miss their true caring that they continuously demonstrate. I sure hope it doesn’t take another 30 years to find a couple of doctors like them

I love this VA Center. I just went there yesterday morning to get a second shingles shot.

They have really got Covid safety down, and are still efficient and fast to take care of our needs. It is currently even faster and easier to get a shot than it used to be.

As you pull into the campus, you will be directed to follow a specific traffic lane, where you will be funneled through a temperature check, and an appointment verification process.

All you have to do is turn right into the parking lot right there, and just stay in your car. The staff tracks which parking place you're in (even cars are socially distanced). After a short wait, a medical staffer will come out grab you, and escort you into one of the temporary medical units right there in the lot. No needing to park 1/2 mile from the main building, then trudge up to the door, and then find you way around inside the rat-maze there.

Inside the temporary medical office unit, you take a seat, and after a short wait, you'll be taken care of and in and out. It actually takes me less time to get whatever I need this way, than the old way inside the big building.

Sometimes I read about VA Medical centers getting a bad rap. I can honestly say that after 10 years of coming to the Martinsburg facility, I have never had anything other than a great experience, and fantastic care.

I am a veteran who has had major and minor care here for about 6 years & another 6 before that at Altoona and even though I am am a critical person and write quite a few deserving one star reviews I have had nothing but consistently excellent care at the VA. I am comparing my care to what I experienced while taking my mother to private doctors and hospitals before that.

As a new patient with the VA I must say it rivals private care. The doctor actually sends time with you and listens to your issues/concerns. In private care they are in and out so fast you barely have time to speak. At this point - loving it!

My husband has been a patient at this facility for several years and seen it grow and get better and better..Great docs..saved his life when he got kidney cancer, and now he has some chronic conditions and is getting great care. Can't say enough about how caring the nursing staff and docs are. Like all medical facilities, you get out of it what you put in.. It is definitely a busy facility , but has amenities to help make it easy, like free valet parking, a nice cafeteria (with good food), a library and very helpful folks at the front desk to steer you in the right direction.

Nobody likes going to a hospital but at times a nessisity. With a hearing loss I dont care much for their automated phone service. Too hard to hear or talk to fast to understand. But I am happy with any service that I have received there. Very polite and professional. Are they perfect, of course not but they give you their best. Take the time to talk to me and explain things to my understanding and thats not always easy to do. Thank you for being willing to work with an old man as well as you do.

Wanted to leave a review for a friend that I currently work with from Front Royal. She spoke with me of her experiences of her father, a WWII vet, receiving treatment here. He suffered from dementia and the many physical issues that come with it. She described a caring staff from top to bottom that ensured that he was able to be admitted despite a potential long wait, collaboration with home services, clear instructions on medical treatment and medications, and overall friendly treatment in the face of having a love one near death. He passed away several years ago, but she often talks about the positive and helpful experiences she had assisting her father with receiving treatment here.

Visited last month and this for rounds one and two of Moderna. Smooth effect t process but mostly what a great staff. Everyone was pleasant, professional and chatty where there was time. It is a challenge to do that in the production line shot delivery business but the VA rose to the equation.

My Uncle Jack spent his entire career in the US Army. He did 1 tour in Korea and 3 tours in Vietnam. He was 87 when he died just over a year ago. The last year of his life saw a lot of visits to the VA hospitals in Washington DC and Martinsburg. I was in attendance for most of those visits and directly involved in his care and treatment. Having little experience with VA medical care and having a great deal of experience with civilian private sector healthcare, I was awed by the level of care he received. The professionalism and efficiency and medical expertise could not have been better. Cheers to all those dedicated, committed hard working individuals who gave the best of care to a man who gave his best in service to his Country.
