What an amazing place! The pastries were delicious. The baguette was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were fair (not cheap, but totally fair for the quality). We paid about $50 for food and drinks for 4 people. The food was so tasty that I didn’t think to take a picture until we had eaten half of it. We will be back!

There are many sins committed in the name of French cuisine. Fortunately for the folks in Norfolk VA, La Brioche is a shining example of French breads and pastries done "comme il faut".
We tried the sourdough loaf, the baguettes, the almond croissant and the pains au chocolat. Everything was a delight to the taste buds and the eyes.
We would not hesitate to come back for more. This place is definitely worth the trip downtown.

Welcoming owners and a very wide choice of everything french, from bread and baked goods to macarons and cake slices. Busy spot, limited seating on ground floor but there is more seating upstairs. Some hard-to-find french bakes even in other bakeries in france

This is my new favorite place! The staff were so friendly and helpful (one of the staff members explained all her favorites and offered great suggestions when we had trouble deciding) and the pastries and bread were delicious! I got a pain au chocolat, passion fruit tart and a baguette to go. The atmosphere was so cozy with a quiet little sitting area/loft upstairs and there's a window that you can look into the kitchen and see the bakers at work. This is such a cool bakery and I hope to come back soon!

My daughter and I just had the best experience here! The staff assisting us were so friendly and helpful. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the cute decor. The croissants were soft, flaky, and delicious; the eclair was the best I've ever had; and the macaroons were absolutely divine! I highly recommend. We will be coming again.

My sisters, mom, and I had a lovely lunch here. The goat cheese quiche was amazing. The pastries were so tasty. So worth the drive thru the tunnel! Everyone else was so friendly. My sister uses a cane and staff asked us if she needed accommodations on the first floor as their dining area is on the second floor. She didn't, but it was so nice to be asked. We will be back!

Wonderful corner of France in Norfolk. They take pride in all their offerings and as they should, every pastry, quiche and croissant is perfect. The eclairs are amazing. We will be back as there is so much to experience. Even the upstairs seating area is so quaint that you forget you are not in France. Try it and see.

Y’all….this is the REAL DEAL. If you want any the taste an feel of a friendly French bakery, this is your place.
The welcoming staff, with their marvelous French accented greetings set the tone. The day I visited, the 2 ladies’ bright eyed and kind smiles engulfed my many questions and were never impatient with my poor hearing— didn’t even have to mention it.
After ordering to go, one invited me to enjoy my chicken salad baguette and espresso upstairs. I had no idea there was a back staircase leading to a charming, rather shabby and mismatched, exactly what you want for that Old World feel. Many chairs have been reupholstered and are surprisingly comfortable for a wooden chair.
The chicken salad is a bit spare by American standards, but the star is the baguette. The romaine and tomato were perfectly fresh and a great compliment.
I foresee many return visits, there is SO much to sample.

Absolutely divine French bakery in the Neon district of Norfolk! Fantastic staff, service, and food! They made my daughter's 22nd birthday a delightful and memorable occasion. We tried so many French specialties it was a wonderful delightful morning with friends. The choux came in vanilla, chocolate, and coffee so there was a flavor for everyone from the youngest to the oldest partier and ages ranged from19 to 60 years old. Chocolate and vanilla eclairs and even a St Patrick's Day eclair with Bailey's & Whiskey which my husband loved, loved, loved! My daughter's Framboise cake was absolutely perfect for her as she loves a strong raspberry punch and it absolutely delivered and exceeded her expectations on every level. The Napoleon and Paris Brest were delicious too! A rhubarb tart was a uniquely divine experience as well. Our friends raved about it. The fresh chocolate, butter, and cinnamon croissants were truly extraordinary. The tuile almond cookie was divine! We enjoyed coffee, pellegrino, water, and Coke to drink. We had so much leftover to take home that our friends left with a lime pie tart and coffee choux. We left with a baguette, pan de mie sliced bread fresh out of the oven, quiche Lorraine, croque monsieur, vanilla choux, chocolate choux, and a raspberry tart. We even got a bag to take our baked treasures home with us. I highly recommend going to the La Brioche bakery in Norfolk's Neon District . We weren't disappointed and all of our expectations were exceeded! OMG, we just had some of the baguette for dinner and we all agreed that we've never really had a real baguette before today. The croque monsieur and quiche Lorraine were amazing as well. Everything we've ordered and eaten from this fine establishment has not disappointed and has been a truly enjoyable dining experience!

If one were to go on and on how beautiful just the sandwiches are on the homemade bread, then we could be here for some time. This is what I humbly suggest. Coming from an individual that is a debutante of deliciousness. This place is an absolutely stop by and see for yourself destination. I'm a REAL FOOD junkie. You will not regret it.

La Brioche is an amazing bakery and pastry shop. It is authentic. I make it a point to try and compare French bakeries and I can tell you this one is the real deal. Everything I have tried is exactly the way it should taste based on French recipes and standards. For those saying the chausson aux pommes was “too flaky”, there is no such thing. It’s supposed to be flaky. The opera cake is very moist and authentic. The macarons are amazing. Everything at La Brioche is made from scratch on premises with the best ingredients. The croissants are buttery and flaky. Absolutely perfect. The pains au chocolat are absolutely delicious and take me back to Paris, where I grew up for the first 24 years of my life. The baguettes are so perfect I can’t resist and end up eating half on my way home. The brioche is absolutely perfect. I like the plain brioche the most, but the brioche with chocolate chips is amazing, too. It is rare to find an authentic French bakery and we are lucky to have La Brioche in Ghent.

I found out about this bakery from IG. Nice location with no problem finding parking. The wonderful smells hit you as soon as you open the door. Everything looks fresh and homemade. So far I've only tried the croissants and fruit tarts and they were delicious and fresh each time. All of the employees are friendly and gave me great customer service even though they were swamped. They are a little pricey, but the quality and service are worth it.

It’s always a good sign when you can smell the fresh baked bread a block away! Wonderful selection and even a place to sit and eat. The owner and staff are so kind and offered to make a unique cup of coffee! Awesome 😎

We found this French bakery on a review of another “French” bakery up the street on granby that we had the misfortune of visiting. This was such a breath of fresh air compared to our other experience. The staff were so helpful and explained the best way to eat each delicious pastry we ordered. The space is small but warm and welcoming. We loved being able to watch the bread bake in their industrial oven. On the whole everything we ate was superb, but our favorite was the CROQUE MONSIEUR! As far as I’m concerned this is the *only* French bakery on granby and they sell much more affordable and tasty sandwiches too! It’s not a question of if we’ll be back but when!

La Brioche has an inviting environment. I ordered a latte and an opera cake. The latte was smooth and not too hot, unlike other coffee shops, and the opera cake was delicious and perfectly balanced. I will be back!
