Serene, beautiful, well-aged and accessible. I can imagine visiting in every season. I wish I'd known about the caves ahead of time so I could have been better prepared. They're relatively accessible if you're wearing decent footwear and not cycling shoes 😁

One of the best! Beautiful and quiet. This is one great ride! Ride as long as you can and not run out of trail. The Park Service does an excellent job!

Lovely section of the Potomac, wonderful trails for hiking and biking and relatively easy access for the kids to fish off the banks-lots of overflow parking and porta potty’s are available in parking areas

Beautiful Trail. Started in Williamsport MD and rode south 32 miles before heading back. Well maintained trail, great views, and plenty of shade while riding.

Beautiful path. Be ware of bikers who don't observe trail/path étiquette though. My dog and I almost got ran over by some bikers.

A very lovely and easy place to hike. Located in Sharpsburg MD and quite close to Sheppardstown WV. The deer, at least some of them, are very tolerant of humans and may allow you to get close to them. The trails are flat and quite popular with bike riders. There were quite a few of them out and about today. No fee to enter. The insect activity was minimal. Unfortunately there are a lot of overgrown areas so be careful of ticks. Deserves a 5 star rating. Parking can be limited in the small lot but there is another lot for the overflow.

Wonderful piece of history. The NPS does a great job of keeping the area clean and enjoyable for everyone. Several historical markers too. Easy to walk, bike, or run. Mostly shaded, so even nice on a hot summer day

Absolutely beautiful! A few spots and then an over full parking lot with both areas having Port a John's. Bring the dog and take a nice hike with the family. The scenery is gorgeous!!

This is my favorite place on the C&O Canal for a walk or bike. It is very pretty, and the path is paved and so is still good for wet weather walking or riding.

This was a good long walk. Favorite walks happen on C&0 canal. I'm just not sure which side I walked on this day😂😂 did I go right or left.

Great place to hike the canal. Some swim under the bridge or hike to the top and she The Potomac River and Shepherds town.

Always a peaceful lovely walk amongst the cycamore trees lining the canal and meeting other like minded folks out for a stroll.

Always a great ride at the C&O. Plenty of different starting points, all with different scenery. Always some bugs, but what do you expect biking right next to the river.

This is the most perfect place to take a solo walk or bring your family and enjoy a beautiful, scenic stroll beside the Potomac River. There are plenty of trees, lots of shade and it's quiet. For safety, always be aware of bike riders on this trail and listen for their bicycle bells.
