Just a fantastic place. conceptually, clean space (!), friendly staff, delicious coffee. the pumpkin latte was lovely - moderately sweet, delicately spiced and espresso with milk. the bagel was good too. perfect place! I recommend it to all coffee lovers

I felt a little weird by how spaced up things were in the building, but I can see how that can be nice if you're working, studying, or simply want some privacy. The drinks were great and the latte art was the cherry on top.

The space is nice. I enjoyed the art and the layout. This make the vibe great. I like my drink and pastry and will be returning. I would recommend and return

This place was dynamite. A little wait for my coffee aunt they were busy and it was well worth it. Pretty cool/clean atmosphere, maybe not my style 100% but they definitely make it work and I get why people like it. I got it to go and once I finished the drink I tried to call the place just to say thanks and tell them how good it was. So thank you! I’ll be back for sure.

Their drip coffees and hand poured are some of the best in the area. The facility is wonderfully redone warehouse style. Parking is always tough so be sure you’re not parking in a tag lot or fire lane. Their cortado is traditional and very well done. Open and clean this coffee shop is an excellent place for a meeting or just to get some work done. Their music is also the correct volume not too loud or too soft.

Hampton Roads is started to get more great coffee shops, however Coalescence is by far the best in town. The space is huge and welcoming with great WiFi. The baristas are incredibly nice and make you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The best thing here is obviously the coffee though - they brew Madcap coffee from Michigan. This is some of the best coffee I've had in any coffee shop, not just in Hampton Roads. The baristas know what they're doing and are happy to talk about it. There are very few places in town that make me wish I still lived here, Coalescence is now one of them.

I came here for the first time when they opened at 9am. The inside is minimalistic, spacious, clean and has a unique and wonderful vibe. I was helped by Jenny, who was very informative with the menu and specials. She was SOOO nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable.
I got the lavender latte, which was AMAZING. The flavor of the espresso with a hint of lavender was incredible. I'm usually the type of person to doctor my coffee with all sorts of creamers syrup and sugar, but this latte was perfect as is...and came with the beautiful milk foam art (or whatever it's officially called).

I had an amazing experience, loved the service and ambiance, and will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. The coffee was absolutely great, the employees know how to pull quality expresso shots and how to treat their customers. Super great place.

My mother, daughter, and I went here today and had a lovely time. I downed an espresso, Mom enjoyed an oat milk latte, and we all shared and devoured two biscuits with jam.

I ordered a Tier 3 pourover and loved it. I’m not usually a black coffee drinker, but it was so super smooth I didn’t need creamer at all.

Coalescence is beautiful coffee shop - and it’s huge. There’s a separate space for conference room tables and workspace, which is so different from other places where you’re hunting for a spot.

Masks required - and tables are set up to ensure 6 ft. distance.

2020 is a tough year to open a business, but you can already tell Coalescence has major staying power!

We're traveling around the country and we go to a lot of coffee shops. This place knows how to brew coffee! It's probably the best coffee I've ever had! I drink drip coffee black. I had a cup and then went back for a refill. The second cup was a different roast, and it was great!

I love this cute coffee shop in Nofolk! It’s near ODU, a great place to study away from home or campus. Their coffee and treats are delicious! The vibe is perfect and their customer service is so warm. The co owner Jenny is the sweetest, you really see the love and passion she has for their company.

Stopped in because the shop we were headed too had the route blocked by a stopped train. Honestly had never seen this spot before.
Large very open and spaced out building. Plenty of space to sit and be distanced if you want to be but also plenty of seating close if you want to have a group meet up.
All the classic coffee drinks along with some daily specials. I had the sweet potato latte and was not disappointed. Also note that the cups are HUGE. I'm not sure if it's just the shape or if there was a lot of liquid...either way I didn't feel cheated on how much I got.
Also tried a vegan gluten free chocolate chip muffin and a decaf vanilla latte since the littlest minion was with me and she doesn't do caffeine to the full extent yet.
Overall great coffee shop and I'd go here over a Starbucks ANY day. They have free wifi, plentiful bathrooms and also just plain old coffee if you want that too.

I had a great experience here. The staff was super kind. I got a vegan lemon blueberry muffin- it was amazing. Plus the music was nice and not too loud. Great place to get work done or have a conversation.

No small detail overlooked. For coffee, this place the quality of the coffee beans are evident. Tried a few different drinks from signature menu and the menu on the wall. The signature drinks will change. “Kind of Blue” (pictured) was so smooth and had a beautiful cocktail-style presentation. For space, this place has an amazing open feel. I loved all the seating or standing options and the natural light makes it a place you could spend time working (or just enjoying!).

COVID conscious people: This is literally the safe haven to enjoy that cold or hot cup of coffee safely. Very well spaced out, contactless pay, and your hands even get a good sanitizer spraying before touching the iPad to finalize your bill.

Awesome and Cozy! It’s a bit of an industrial look, but the soft background music in the front with an additional “quite” room in the back makes this a great place to go to work, chill, or just enjoy a cup of great coffee! Bathrooms are clean. Their are an abundance of wall outlets. However I would recommend they install desk power cords in the back room. Prices are reasonable (about $5.00) , WIFI is fast, and quality of the coffee is on point. What made it really great was the staff. Jefferson and Ella were GEMS!!! Absolutely epitome of customer service! Thanks for the cup of joe, laughs, and a good time!

My Latte and my husband’s mocha was super creamy and delicious!!! We love the atmosphere and how it is spaced out so we felt super comfortable. Highly recommended 👍🏽👍🏽

This coffee shop has set the standards very high for me when it comes to quality in my caffeinated beverage selections since I started frequented this amazing place. They serve the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’ve tried nearly every drink on the menu (hot drip coffee, iced coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, cocktails, the list goes on) and they are delicious and consistent every time. They always have something interesting and innovative to try. The staff are amazing and make me feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is spacious and tasteful. It’s the perfect place to study (there’s a back room that is quiet). Their music creates a sweet vibe if you’re looking for some socializing too. I could go on and on about this cafe. I come here at least once a week. Sadly this is the only picture I have of their coffee art, but their drinks are always insta-worthy. Yes, their prices may be considered high compared to other places, but you get what you pay for and it is so worth it.

Great coffee and great location, with plenty of open space to settle down and work if needed. There were at least three baristas that afternoon, and one of them almost immediately greeted me with a warm welcome!

They offer espresso and pour overs, as well as drip. They use the Yama glass cone pour over, with water at 208°, served in a glass pitcher with a mug.

They do not roast their own coffee, but they still have a great selection.

Highly recommend this place!
