Dropped by Ben Eaton’s gym as a visitor from Charleston and I’ll say it was an awesome experience!! Ben has a very unique teaching style with a great facility and students. The gym is for anybody who wants to learn the art as a beginner or a high level competitor training for competitions. Came to visit Nogi class on a Friday evening. This place is awesome! Professor Ben is super welcoming and all the coaches are very knowledgeable and detailed in their instruction. Had some great rolls. Highly recommend this gym!

Incredible place to train. Visited from out of town and felt very welcomed by the professors and the students. Tough rolls with really good training partners of all experience levels. This place is now my go to when I'm in the Yorktown area.

Phenomenal gym, extremely clean. Everyone was very welcoming and the coaches are extremely talented. If i ever find myself back in the area i’ll go out of my way to train here again.

From the perspective of a visitor, this was a great school. I stopped by for an open mat. Everyone was fun to roll with, there were no egos on the mat, and the head instructor even took ten minutes to walk me through a situation I commonly find myself in. Great school and hope to stop back in next time I'm in town.

Dropped in on the gym while visiting family over the holiday. Very great culture that they have fostered and super welcoming to folks from out of town. Really great students that take you under their wing immediately and make sure that you understand what is going on and make sure you understand the way their gym does things. 100% will drop in on this gym again when I come back to visit family in the future! This gym is amazing. Everyone, both staff and students, are very nice. Professor Ben Eaton is incredibly talented, and is able to give his knowledge of the sport to his students in a way that is easy to pick up. The gym itself is bigger than most jiu jitsu gyms that I’ve seen, and it’s a very clean and professional environment. The staff are helpful and willing to help everyone, regardless of your experience or lack of. I genuinely cannot recommend this gym enough for anyone looking to get into jiu jitsu or anyone just looking for a new physical outlet.

One of the best academy’s put there! My two kids and wife attend and we all are treated like family from day one! Be ready to go in and learn lots. There’s never a bad day with this group of warriors!!

Dropped in for a couple of classes while visiting family in the area. Immediately felt welcome upon entering the facility. The facility itself is clean and spacious with a great mat space. I had the privilege of attending a class taught by the owner Ben Eaton who is an absolute world class instructor. You can feel the energy and passion that he has for the sport and it is reflected in the crushing pressure of all of his students. If your visiting the Yorktown or already live in the area don't miss your chance jump on the mats for a class. I only wish I could've made a few more classes. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing. With traveling in the military I have been to 5 plus gyms and never have I seen a gym with such a great instructor like Ben. Right from the start this gym felt like a little family, everyone knows each other and talks to the new guys like they have known you for years. This Review is well overdue since I am training in a different facility since I had to move to California but is well earned sometimes I wish I never left.

I've been training here for almost 2 years and absolutely love it. Wife and two sons also train here and I can honestly say I've seen so many positive changes in them since they began their BJJ journey. The professor and coaches are all awesome! The facility has grown since I first set foot on the mats... excited to see what the future holds - so many people to train with and our numbers seem to grow everyday! I needed a place to train while attending a class. I have spent the last month training here and couldn't be more impressed. The facility is kept meticulously clean. There is ample floor space for large groups to train. The level of instruction and attention to detail in each technique and concept is conveyed expertly so everyone can grasp the lesson points. There is a considerable group of students who compete regularly and do very well at competitions. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. They have very reasonable rates. If you are new to Jiu-Jitsu and want to try it out they even have Gis that they loan out and maintain. Their kids program is exceptional and quite large. I highly recommend this organization to anyone in the area who loves to train!

I have been training under Ben Eaton at Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu Yorktown for approximately 7 years. My own journey starting out tremulous as I was not completely sold on the idea of fighting from my partner. As a beginner to all things exercise and martial arts I was welcomed by the coaches, staff, and team members. I was the only female student for sometime but this did not change how I was treated as part of the team. Of course more women have begun to train here over time. The school and coaches have been very accommodating through my changing stages of life. I have been able to successfully and safely train through not one but two pregnancies under Ben. He has also worked with me as my goals in jiu jitsu have changed from recreational to competitive and recreational again. He provides a beautiful and clean environment to train in. The culture of school is welcoming and fosters mutual trust and friendship. I count myself lucky under someone as great as Ben and with teammates at Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu.

This facility is top notch. Great family atmosphere without sacrificing any intensity of training. I love that there is great instruction from real deal instructors. The way they run their system and separate students based on experience really helps to prevent injury while allowing veterans to train hard with high intensity as well.
