I'm on my way to work now and in the best possible position to be getting the best lifestyle in the life I have been trying to get to. Thanks to Job Readiness Advisor, Fred Smith, and the other members of the team. Challenges are part of life, best met with the best possible outcome through preparation. Thank you so much for the hand up!

I have never had a problem with getting help with my partial medical insurance they assist me with. Actually only one problem with them losing my yearly application but it was fixed. The caseworkers, especially Ms. Dildy are great. So for all the bad comments, here's one to make up for them.....they are good people dealing with A LOT of people, and a lot of negativity. So if you do have a bad experience with someone there, think about having to deal with hundreds of different personalities a day, and put yourself in their shoes. I can imagine how tough a job it can actually be. So with that being said, I give them 4 stars.

I'm sure that this Workforce Development Center does good work for the people seeking its services; however, the security staff and facilities are less than stellar.

While attending a course at their facility put on by another State agency, the building's security individual's* demeanor was impolite and unnecessarily brusque. When multiple individuals taking the course attempted to arrive early for the course he rudely told them to wait outside arbitrarily until he decided it was 8:20 - regardless of the actual time.

Furthermore, the restrooms were in a terrible state with large puddles of urine on the floor for hours without attention.

The government assistance is not doing their job to help other people out what they needed. They always giving me the runaround about they going to do this and that for me. In 2023, I feel like if you worked under the government why is you not helping the people who’s need help. ITS THE VIEW WORKERS. Sorry to say but some of them is just there for the money.

If I could give less than a star I would give negative stars for Norfolk city workforce development and especially their supplemental nutrition assistance program workers. This is the 10th or 11th time in the span of 12 years that I have been given a runaround on why my benefits are late. The workers do not take responsibility for their own incompetence. I am sitting here waiting for my benefits that should’ve hit yesterday. People are out here starving because food is so expensive. right now is not the time to be ignorant of the job - especially when it comes to food stamps or any government assistance program that is supposed to be helping the people.

Always incredibly rude despite my best attempts at being as polite and friendly as possible. I have mental health problems, and their rudeness leaves me afraid to even talk to them, so now I can't get health insurance or food stamps and since I'm disabled, this leaves me with basically nothing. Not to mention, they tell you not to mail in papers but to come physically drop them off, but they always either lose the papers or just ignore them.

There is never anyone there to speak to over the phone. Everything seems to be directed to the voicemail. If this service is for the citizens of the state of Virginia. Why isn’t there any type of human answering the phone? This is not helping any citizens of the state of Virginia. We must do better.

No one ever answers. Ive been waiting on my case worker over 60 days. Her name is A. Gilchrist. She was supposed to get back to me in 2 weeks. This was back in September. it is not November. I decided to wait 1 month and she never returns calls. Ive left over 15 voicemails. She is extremely unprofessional.

If I could give them less I would. They don't answer calls back, they wait till the last minute to send paperwork but expect you to be on time, they are extremely lazy. They have every excuse of why they couldn't find your address but quick to turn off your services. Poor customer service and communication. Sad the way they treat senior citizens.

I have been trying to contact them for over a week and have left a couple voicemails with them. I have not received a callback yet or any voicemails.

Today, their inbox was full. Are you kidding me?
