RVA Dental Care

I've been coming here for about a year now, after leaving my previous dentist due to dissatisfaction, and this practice is AWESOME. Everybody from the front desk, to the hygienist, to the dentists, are just as nice as can be and dentally skillful. They have NEVER run late or kept me waiting, and they are very accommodating working with my difficult work schedule to get me in for my appointments. I highly, highly recommend them (just don't take MY appointment slots, LOL)

Dr. Lawrence is AWESOME! My son has special needs and Dr. Lawrence and his dental assistant were so patient and caring with him. Finding a dentist / dental practice that cares for patients with special needs is like finding a needle in a haystack. We are blessed to have him as my son’s dentist. The whole office is great from the moment we entered until we left. ❤

Our family’s dental hygienist for 5+ years, Cindy is WONDERFUL!! She is detail oriented during dental exams. She is a skillful and gentle practitioner. She is an extremely knowledgeable communicator about all things dental!! Cindy goes above and beyond to accommodate all her patients (I’ve witnessed her interactions with others) and seems genuinely invested in helping her patients- pediatric and adult, maintain healthy dental care. The staff was patient and caring from the front office to the patient room. I had a tooth extraction pulled today. I went into the office a little nervous but Dr. Friend calmed me down and pulled my tooth. I recommend families and friends to RVA Dental Care

I started going to RVADC years ago based on the recommendation of a friend, and honestly, it was love at first cleaning! The staff is absolutely incredible...so professional, friendly and funny...and because of this, it actually makes me excited to go into the dentist! Dr. Lawrence is who I usually see and he's phenomenal, though I've also seen the other doctors there during more urgent visits, and they're super stellar as well. I love this dentistry so much, my whole family goes now, including my kid who they put at ease as soon as he walks in the door. THANK YOU RVA DENTAL CARE! You're the best of the best!

I have been going to RVA Dental Care for a year and a half now. Whenever I go, every single person you interact with is incredibly pleasant. I have met several of the dentists there and all of them have been great. The hygienist I have seen every time is very skilled, thorough, and personable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality dental practice.

Dr. Friend has been our dentist for over 20 years. We’ve loved him from day one. He always makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Hes a wonderful dentist!

This place is the Disney World of Dental offices. Everyone is in a good mood and they make every patient feel right at home. For example, after only 1 appointment, I was, for each following appointment greeted by name the minute I walked through the door. They remember about the upcoming trip you told them about at your previous appointment a month before. Those little things make a difference-- at least where I come from, they are very rare.

I have always disliked and feared the dentist and I simply stopped feeling that way after 1 visit at RVA dental. After very minimal dental experience, I suddenly needed a lot of dental work in the last 2 years. I met Dr. Pelais who really stood out due to his friendliness, calming presence and thorough communication. As someone with preexisting health issues and thus some anxiety surrounding procedures, I was so appreciative of how patient, flexible and thorough Dr. Pelais was. He went above and beyond to communicate with my other doctors on his own accord. Additionally, as someone who is always asking my doctor's questions and feeling as though those questions are brushed off or rushed through, it meant a lot to me that Dr. Pelais communicated at every step of an appointment without my having to ask. When I did ask further questions, he took out a piece of paper and drew diagrams to explain how the procedure worked in laymans terms ( I mean come on...).

Similarly, every other member of the team at RVA dental made me feel comfortable, and even oddly happy to be there-- So sad to be moving back to NY because I know I will not find another office like this.

I was referred to RVA Dental Care by a friend when I moved to Richmond two years ago and I've been thrilled by the service I've received there. Everyone in the office is friendly and professional, and I appreciate that they wear masks with me since I'm on immunosuppressants. This weekend they especially went above and beyond – I had an old crown pop off my molar and the dentist on call got back to me outside of business hours to tell me what to do, and then Dr. Friend was able to get me in first thing Monday morning to re-seat the the crown. I can't say enough good things about them.

This was my first visit to RVA Dental Care. Ashamedly I have not been to a dentist in way too many years. I have a terrible phobia of dentists. Have had one since childhood and require serious medication just to get my teeth cleaned. Long story short, I had a dental emergency this past weekend and my wife called RVA Dental Care on Sunday, New Years Eve and left a message. Dr. Lawrence returned her call in a short time. This alone impressed me. Tuesday morning I went in for my infected tooth. Dr Lawrence saw me. The entire staff, especially his assistant, made me feel comfortable and explained what needed to be done. I will be going back next Tuesday for more work. This is all out of pocket. Yes, I have dental insurance, but they do not take my insurance. I felt so comfortable that I'm willing to pay out of pocket, a lot, for the friendly service and ease that I felt in the office. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a terrible fear of dentists. Or those who don't but are looking for a new dentist.

Really great dentist, can't recommend enough. I had a lot of anxiety and avoided the dentist for years. RVA dental care made me feel comfortable, and helped me change my dental habits and improve my oral hygiene in a non-judgmental way. Very happy I chose this dentist.

Excellent service from Laura and Chris! Communicated my treatment plan very well and detected some problem areas with my teeth. Invisalign treatment is flying by also! Tray 1 vs tray 11 after only 22 weeks!

Love the staff at RVA dental!

My young child had a few baby teeth taken out -- great experience. Dr. Patrick was very patient and open about all of the procedures, very warm and caring demeanor and genuine concern for my kid's well-being after the procedure. All of the members of my family have also gotten regular cleanings from this office, and those, likewise, have been positive experiences. The stuff at reception are all very friendly as well. Highly recommend this dental office.

Dr. Lawrence is a great and competent dentist, as well as being very kind and personable. My 10 year old son will not accept to see any other dentist in Richmond. The hygienists and staff are all very nice and professional. We love going to RVA Dental Care!

The staff is always incredibly friendly. The front desk staff, the hygienists, the dentists.. all so nice! They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They also make check in a very smooth process. I’ve never waiting longer than 5 minutes for my appointment.

Had my first appointment on 5/1 and was very impressed with the office staff and providers that I saw! Everyone was very friendly! Dr. Friend and Dental Hygienist, Mallory were great! Mallory was the most gentle Hygienist I’ve ever had!!!

Dr. Collie is so personable and caring. Even though he is busy with multiple patients he never makes you feel rushed, happily answers all questions, and puts you at ease with humor. The front desk always say hello to me by my name and are super friendly and helpful.
