Been kayaking here twice so far and am loving it! Such an unassuming park but beautiful and serene. Water is a bit murky so be sure to hose off your kayak when you get home. So blessed to see dolphins on the Cotee River, they swam quite a ways inland to catch a school of fish.

If you haven’t visited this place GO! IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL! It’s like a fairy land. The beautiful scenic board walk along the Cotee River is just so soothing.

The facilities there are well maintained and restrooms are always clean. Provided are a play area for the kids, story walk trail, picnic shelters, fishing pier and ample parking etc.

Peaceful park with gorgeous boardwalk. Very well maintained and even handicapped can feel like they are trekking through a real Florida jungle. Wonderful pavilions with big tables. Great for family get together. Quite. Very nice kayak launch.

A very tranquil paddle down the "Cotee" river passes thru the preserve. It's quiet and scenic.

Our 3rd visit to the preserve. We take visitors who have an appreciation for wildlife in general and Florida wildlife in general.
It's a nice way to enjoy a couple hours walking and investigating outside.
We like the wandering boat ride on the Pepper River into the park, but this is the 1st time we had the boat filled to capacity. That does take some of the viewing fun out for those in inside seats, but the Captain's narration is informative and humorous, so the ride remains enjoyable on nice days.
The underwater viewing station was quite cloudy this time, but I did learn something interesting about Snook's ability to come into brackish & fresh water temporarily.

I finally got to walk around in this park. There are 2 parking lots from where you can venture out on the trails and walk to and over the boardwalk. I also had fun just sitting in my car in the shade under the trees in the first parking lot after the entrance, had a drink, non alcoholic, listened to music and chatted with some people. The weather was just perfect and so is this park.

Open from dawn to dusk, James Grey is a go to for our family. Great walking trails along the Cotee River, playground for the kids, pavilions, public restrooms and a kayak/canoe launch. You can put in at the preserve and go all the way to the Gulf if you want, the whole trip takes between 3-4 hours depending on which way the tide is going. Unfortunately no dogs allowed at the preserve but that is the only down side for me.

Lovely park, short trails, pretty nice riverside views and a nice boardwalk through part of the trail. Not a ton of wildlife, but the squirrel we saw has definitely had a few people leave treats. He tried shaking us down for something to eat!

I love this quaint park, I keep going back. Pretty boardwalks, paths, waterways, turtles, pileated woodpeckers, wildlife. I love kayaking there even though I've only gone up steam to Rowan road. Soon I will kayak down steam. The water is brackish, which can be a little creepy, but rest assured, there are no gators. The occasional jumping fish may startle you. I wish dogs were allowed, but it doesn't keep me from going. I feel safe here going alone as it's very public and many others are there alone.

I really love this park. My 2 year old enjoys the playground at the entrance. Seeing the tortoises just roaming around is pretty cool. The boardwalk is probably my most favorite part of the park. Walking along and my head stays on a swivel looking for animals off to the side. A beautiful area and great place for a fun family outing. There are pavilions with grills so you can host little shindigs as well.

First time visiting and I must say it is such a nice park to take a walk, take in the scenery... There are a couple of gazebos where you are able to have little get together. I would def visit again, such a great experience

When you are on the trail this park is so untouched except for a path and boardwalk. At some times there is water on both sides of you. There is a few pavilions and a restroom building with accessible stalls. A small playground is near the restrooms and parking. A small parking area is near the kayak/canoe launch. This is such a quiet park. This time we saw a gopher tortoise next to the sidewalk.

This was a beautiful place for a gentle walk. There was a cute library trail with a book spread out along a path for little ones to read. There are so many quiet areas to sit, relax, and just take in the nature around you. I was very pleased with the shade coverage and I loved the beauty of the boardwalk.

One of the best hidden treasures in Pasco County. A preserve that has been here since I was 5 years old in '97 but I didn't come and visit until I was 30. What a special little park with boardwalk trails around the Cotee and various little hideaways to explore. A perfect medium-sized park for a taste of uniquely fluvial Floridian countryside scenery. Highly recommended for prayer and scripture reading.

Extremely beautiful location and the reading posts for the children are great. We saw turtles, squirrels, lizards and all kinds of birds.

This park is so full of life, especially when you take a stroll down the boardwalk. From manetees swimming down the river to Egrets hanging out on the trees, you will hear and see a plethora of life at this bird preserve.
