Kazu's Sushi

Great little sushi place with a wonderfully friendly staff to get lunch or dinner at if you're visiting Downtown NPR! Every time I visit here the experience is always delightful, when you walk in you’re greeted by staff members with sincere warmth. The servers, chefs, and all of the staff are very knowledgeable, professional, and have such a positive energy that it’s infectious. If you’re new to Asian cuisine, no question is the wrong question and they are happy to help with anything you need, because I’ve brought friends here, and even when I came my first time in June 2023, it was a bit overwhelming because of how huge the menu is! It’s definitely worth it though, and the staff is super attentive without being too intrusive, it’s the perfect balance! It’s rare that the food, service, and decor all combine to such an excellence the way Kazu’s does. Everything we ate was flavorful and delicious. It was very very delightful! It’s always very good. I personally love sitting and eating at the sushi bar because it gives you that more authentic experience watching the chefs make the meals for you, and then they hand them to you right there. The rolls are great, they have specials everyday if we want to go a more affordable route on rolls, but if you’re looking for a more specific type of roll, I highly recommend the ‘Rainbow Roll’ and the ‘Kazu’s House Roll’. The ‘Tempura Japanese Bagel Roll’ is very delicious as well, if you’re not looking for rolls, the ‘Whitefish Teriyaki’ is to die for, actually it’s to LIVE for, comes with white rice, miso soup, and it also had fried vegetables, I think it was stir fry, either way it was scrumptious! Might I emphasize how good the miso soup is, as well as the edamame, oh and the sake! The Sour Apple Sake is a must every time for me, I need to try the plum they have, they also have strawberry but you have to order it by the bottle. They have so much variety when it comes to beverages, whether they are alcoholic or not! This place has it all, definitely a lunch/dinner highlight, highly highly recommend. Kazu has been my main sushi guy for 22 years now, ever since he was way out in Citrus Mall! Everything he makes is phenomenal and I’m never let down. Some appetizers you should try is the baby octopus salad, the monkey brain or fried soft shell crab *chef kiss*

If you are looking for a truly authentic sushi restaurant, then look no further. Master Kazu has no peer, having honed his craft over a lifetime. Enjoy your favorite roll, expertly crafted, or try a bowl.
The restaurant is extremely clean, and the service is prompt, and the food is delicious.

I genuinely love this place. I've been several times over the past couple of years and have never had a bad experience. The owners are great and super communicative, the staff is wonderful and attentive, and the food is excellent without being too pricey. I recommend the chicken teriyaki and their fried tempura! 😋

I've been to very, VERY few authentic Japanese restaurants. Even less with actual Japanese chefs. But this restaurant has amazing sushi. For what you're paying, you get very high quality fish. Just a warning if you're not used to it, the food will take a little time as they only have so many sushi chefs so please be patient

If I could afford to go more often I would. I've been a patron since their original place by the mall. I just wish parking were easier. Excellent food. You will never find nicer owners.

WOW, its been over 7 years since my daughter and I ate at Kazu's(back in his old location). We were so happy to stop in today, brought back good memories.
The food is sooooo good here, prices are definitely low(fair). I was surprised how good it was, how much we got and how low the bill was. This place is a must go to if you live Sushi, Sashimi, or anything in that area for food.

EASILY the best sushi restaurant in the area. Phenomenal service, food was incredible, AND Godzilla movies on the televisions? Perfect dinner date for my wife and I.

This is my wife and I favorite sushi spot. The atmosphere is great. They just moved to a new location so the place is way bigger but still has the cozy atmosphere! The sushi is great for the price point. It's tasty it is unique you most definitely get the most for money! So if you like a good roll or even some miso soup then you need to drop by and check it out!!

Update 5/22 Still great! Have been a customer for several years now, at the old location this was our first time at the new location. Food was good as always, especially the crab and avocado salad. Service was off very busy for a Tuesday night think they were shorthanded and new staff was a little overwhelmed. We will definitely be going back.

Kazu's Sushi has a great variety of sushi and non sushi dishes available. The food is beautifully prepared, fresh and delicious. The service is delightful.

Kazus has been my favorite sushi spot ever since I tried it! They were my first and will always be my favorite sushi! My husband even found items he likes on the menu and he’s not a big seafood guy!

Hands-down our favorite restaurant. We eat here once a week, sometimes twice. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff super-friendly, and the food outstanding. The Spicy Tuna Donburi and Firecracker Roll are favorites, but everything we've tried has been great. If you love sushi, you will love Kazu's!

Kazu's is the best sushi place in the area. I live in Hernando and will make the drive every single time. I've been going here since it first opened over a decade ago and will continue to do so. I absolutely how good their eel and octopus is. It was the first time I've tried their kimchi conch and it was great. I honestly don't know if I've ever tried something at Kazu's and not like it. I highly recommend Kazu's. The owner cares very much about quality, freshness, presentation, etc. Very welcoming atmosphere and the staff is very patient and engaging with young children.

I ordered in the restaurant take out. A young lady helped me tremendously with ordering. It was clean, orderly, staff was great, loved seeing the open kitchen and the chefs cooking. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had three Rainbow sushi plate.

My 1st of many visits, right here on Main Street. New Port Richey, great addition to downtown. Prices were fair for FRESH Sushi, service was great. Try it, these folks are the real deal!!

The food is FRESH & AWESOME. 😁 I keep coming back. When you've had authentic, why go for Americanized. But you can get both here (California Rolls and such). I prefer the Sashimi. Service is always great.

Best sushi in town! Kazu's sushi is out go to place every week. We have tried numerous other sushi places and no one compares to how fresh Kazu's sushi is. The volcano rolls are amazing and so are their bentos!

Great food good service needs a little more help it took almost two hours to get food and eat but the sushi was on point. Atmosphere is a little outdated but that don’t change the quality of food.
