Sims Park

Sims park is by far the highlight of New Port Richey, as well as the small Main Street downtown of the area. It features a riverwalk that can be fished along, or have a boat pulled up to dock, as well as boat launch from the opposing side of the main park. The family fun area for kido’s has an impressive jungle gym and fountain water park. The main congregating area for events is currently being finished with turf to prepare for festivals and concerts. On the east side of the park you’ll find the large pond that has turtles big and small, fish, and many different types of birds and flowers to stop and admire. The restrooms are well kept and modern. This park is connected to Main Street which features many restaurants, bars, and interesting shops, as well as a recently built library. Overall, you couldn’t ask for much more from a park. And if you’re exceptionally lucky like I was that day, along the water walk you might spot dolphins that want to see what all the fuss was about upstream.

Great place for an evening stroll. Nice breeze comes off river to cool u n folks there always nice. My only criticism is the duck poo on the sidewalks so I walk my dog on the streets around the park not in the park around the ponds.

It’s a great little lake and they have done a lot without making it chintzy. Two piers anchor memorials for each Armed Service. The sidewalk leaves room to just chill on the grass and watch the turtles. The highlights would be the splash area and bandshell but Sims Park is really the heart of downtown NPR. Be sure to grab a bite and one of the many restaurants.

The Chasco festival is nothing short of amazing. I have enjoyed it since I was a little kid. I enjoyed every moment from the entertainment, the food, the atmosphere, the history, to the heritage. Absolute blast.

This is absolutely a wonderful park to take your children to and have a safe, fun time, Plenty of local places to eat at and ice cream places that are fabulous 👌Update !! The astro turf is now installed and it is absolutely fantastic!!! Go and see for yourself.

One of my favorite go-to places for a walk and seconds from downtown. Lots of great restaurants and shops in the area.

Was a nice place to visit. I recommend going at night where you can see all the lights. I got lucky and saw the boat parade when I was there

We always enjoy spending an evening here. We like to grab a bite to eat and walk around the park while enjoying the beautiful surroundings with our dog. This is definitely a go-to spot for my husband and me.

We used to drive 45 minutes north to Sims because it was the best. Now we've moved and 4 years later were still driving 45 minutes south to go to Sims! It's a beautiful park. It's a huge park that's beautifully landscaped and has everything you could need in a park. A fun atmosphere, large, covered, double playground, splash pad, outdoor gym, pond, plenty of sidewalks and open paths for walking, the inlet for fishing, picnic tables and a stage for events. This is a favorite park for sure!

As parks go - this one is AWESOME! It has everything - large grassy areas, boat docks, ponds, river walk, playground and sprayground, large live oaks, flowers, wildlife, picnic areas, benches, amphitheater, close to restaurants and bars, good parking. New Port Richey has quite a unique place here at Sims Park.

What a beautiful beautiful place. So serene and peaceful. Great for the kids, or just to go for a walk, relax on a bench near the water.

Beautiful riverside park tucked in amongst all kinds of shops, dinners, and bars. A very relaxing break from the day.
They have a historical society and a stage on the grounds.
The park was huge and there were a lot of kids having a blast.
I enjoyed just walking around while I was waiting to meet someone downtown.

Such a beautiful park and area! It's nice just to walk through and through the shops.

BEAUTIFUL PARK! The playground has a nice rubber turf to protect the kids from falling, small splash area, beautiful walks, bridge, exercise/workout area and more. Almost all the areas have sun shade Canopies. Awesome place for adults and kids.

The more I visit the more I love this park. River walk, I didn’t even know about the first visit.

A great place to walk around and grab a bite to eat.

Nice park with paved walkways. Playground currently under construction. Park butts up to a canal and park is next to beautiful restored historic hotel. Check event schedule for concerts as park has an amphitheater. Update: as of now 4-12-24 the playground is up and running. Work was being done in the concert area that will soon be done.

Great walk along the river in daytime. It's better to come before noon so you can find easily parking spot.

We love going to the park and relaxing. No matter what time you go it's a good time. Kids can unwind at the park or get wet at the water zone. Adults and teens can relax by the water side or the grass. This is a good area to even go fishing. You even got some workout equipment around the walking trails. To top it off there is a $9 scooter rental and an ice cream shop near the park. This is a wonderful park and so much to do. Great place you should visit.

My daughter loves coming here for the playground. It's very clean and well kept. I love how there's a bunch of shady spots to sit.

Beautiful park. Walk or sit along the river, sit by a big pond with a beautiful fountain. Lots of squirrels, birds, and turtles. Really nice playground for the kids. Great place to walk or relax.
