This company is a rip off. I went to the dentist and they printed out my dental plan and how much my insurance was paying and how much I would pay out of pocket. This started in February 2024. Now it is April 2024 and now there is a waiting period on most services. I am now faced with outstanding dental bills that could have been avoided. Who pays for dental insurance to not be able to use most of the benefits until 1 yr later. I will be canceling as soon as open enrollment starts.

If there was a way for me to give negative stars Sunlife would get them all. If you are looking for an insurance company to do business with run as far away from Sunlife as possible! I dont even know where to begin. To talk about their "customer service" would be an oyxmoron because they don't care about their customers and "service" is certainly not a part of their company mission. If I was paid minimim wage for all the hours and energy I have spent trying to get someone to call me back, or answer my questions I would probably be able to pay my policy in full but to spare us all the anquish and stress I have experienced let me simply share the final blow, the icing on the cake.... I spent countless hours on the phone being proactive to gather information on a life insurance policy that was about to mature after 20 years. Since I hadn't gotten the information I needed in a timely manner to ensure my next premium was paid on time I was told I would yget a discount if I paid the policy for a year. So Ichose to pay the policy for the full year of 2022. Premium due Feb 1. Sunlife cashed the check I sent them (early) on Jan 27th. Almost two months later they returned the check and cancelled my policy for non payment! NON PAYMENT! Even now, after almost three weeks of trying to find out why this happened and what they are going to do about it the best I get is "we are investigating this" Someone will get back to you by the end of the week. Didn't happen. I've had enough. I wouldn't reinstate my policy with them if my life depended on it. And my friends, neither should you. They dont deserve your business.

My husband has been on short term disability since March 2018, it was a hassle just to get a check by weekly. Eric Johnson our claims rep actually went on vacation and did not mail our check until he returned. Very unprofessional, bills still need to get paid regardless!

Now my husband has moved to long term disability, Tyeisha King is our case manager. She has refused to call us back, we have called and left messages on 10/15, 10/16, and twice on 10/17. Every time we call, we get she's on the phone. Well, I guess it nice to know she has returned some one else's call! I spoke to her in early Sept. all she needed was some more information from my husband's employer to get our claim approved. Then the claim will go to their underwriter team, and after approval a check should be mailed out in the middle of October. Today is 10/18/18 and no check in the mail or a courtesy call. I agree will ALL the reviews I have read about this company. All reviews are very negative. When my husband returns to work, we will cancel this policy and perhaps go with AFLAC. All I have read on AFLAC is positive reviews.

Absolutely horrible insurance, don't waste your time and money on it ,been out of work going on 2 months and all they do is give you the run around and can never get your case worker to call you back ,further more I've had to resubmit the same documents 5 times already and they still give you the run around, save the money and go with a better company...
