Taqueria La Luz

The target audience of this place isn’t real Mexicans like me but the food is authentic and tastes great…If you’re a real Latin person their “spicy” salsa will taste very mild like it did for me.

I had the traditional tacos and a huarache. In my photos I put a lot of salsa because that’s how I like it but it doesn’t come like that. Don’t be afraid to try it.

There’s a little sign tell you that’s their kitchen is fast and it’s true. I think I had my food under 5 mins. (It was around 11:30 on a Saturday though…)

Great place to eat in the works!! The marg slush was very good, alongside the corn tortilla taco, and corn that I got!! Every time I’m in the area, I always swing by to get some. Staff is so friendly! Love this place and would definitely recommend trying it out!! :)

Professional employee! Wish they have a bigger menu board (currently just a letter sized paper menu on display by the register). Reasonable amount of food items options. We tried a bowl and a burrito, both surprisingly exceed our expectation in terms of the taste!! Will recommend Taqueria La Luz! Good food!!

Awesome food, flavor and service. Their food is flavorful and the margaritas are strong! I tried the nachos with chicken and every bite was full of flavor. Their verde sauce is so good I could drink it. lol the folks working there seem very happy and service is quick, too.

Authentic to Mexico City and thoughtfully crafted Mexican cuisine. For anyone who has been to Mexico City, you know that CDMX has some of the best food in the world and Chef Luz brings that to Atlanta's Westside.

We stumbled upon Taqueria La Luz on accident for our anniversary lunch. We walked into The Works not realizing they have not officially opened. Chef Luz was working on her new menu and offered us to join her in the tasting experience. We crafted us steak sopes that brought us right back to the rich culinary experience in Mexico City. The sope had a perfectly done fried mesa with layers of steak, avacado and homemade salsa.

In addition to the great meal we had, Chef Luz was a great host and a local entrepreneur we will be supporting for years to come.

I get the burrito bowl every time (so yum!) and their delish margaritas with sangria floaters! Best drink I've ever had! The owner is a very stand-up person and treated me extremely kindly. I would recommend Taqueria La Luz to anyone!

They have my favorite vegetarian nachos and I love their churros.

Really nice Mexico City-style tacos, great quesadillas, and super-tasty margaritas. Part of the experience of Mexico City-style tacos is the customization. You add salsas, onions, and cilantro to taste, and La Luz's salsas are fantastic. If you think the tacos are a little bland, do yourself a favor and spend an extra minute at the condiment/salsa station - It may completely change your experience. Contrary to some of the other reviews, my experience with service has been consistently very good. The owner is always extremely friendly and helpful, a true hospitality pro that I don't see very often these days. Huge fan of the pastor. Keep up the great work La Luz!

I had a fantastic experience at TAqueria La Luz on 11/23/22. The tacos were amazing (best birria tacos in atlanta!) and the red swirl margs were exquisite (see picture, highly recommend). All for a very decent price, and fantastic customer service. I can’t wait to come back and eat more tacos!

As someone who has spent a lot of time in Mexico, this food is great! It’s nice to see Atlanta have a few more authentic options for Mexican cuisine— especially those that offer outside the usual American iteration.

I just had the best tacos al pastor ever!! This was my third time here and everything is always delicious and fresh 😋 the owner and staff are super friendly and nice. I’ve always had a great experience.

Love everything I’ve tried so far! The bowls are great and comes with guac. Tacos are amazing as well.

Honestly the best taquerias in town that isn’t on Buford Highway. Order the traditional tacos!

The 5 stars are not just for the food but also for the owner of the restaurant. He takes great pride in taking care of his customers. Something you hardly get to see nowadays.
