Is this place five stars in a vacuum, no. Is this place five stars in a Holiday Inn, absolutely. I had the New York strip and it was very good, better than Outback but not better than Fleming’s. My wife had the Trout and loved it. My son had the full rack of baby back ribs and said they were scrumptious. My daughter had chicken tenders and they were chicken tenders. Wildfire is a great place to take the family after a day seeing the sights. Keep your expectations in check and you will have a great dinner.

If you are visiting Black Mountain or the general area, you’ll find a lot of things close early especially on Sunday night. This was one of the few places still open and we had an absolutely amazing time! We came out to the area for our anniversary and our server and bar tender Maggie was so much fun to talk with! Since they were slow Sunday night we also got to meet the chef who makes a beautiful filet mignon rare. I kid you not, it was the best filet mignon I’ve had yet! Seeing that it’s in a Holiday Inn, you might be put off but don’t let that fool you! This place could stand alone as a proper steak house with the staff they’ve got! They are also to-go friendly which is what we did. 11/10 thank you very much and corporate.. if you’re reading this.. give them a raise! ;)

Don't let this place discourage you just because it's connected to a hotel. I've eaten at many amazing places that were and this is included in that.
Our waitress was beyond great. She was so sweet and came around often.
I got the Philly cheesesteak. The bun was buttery and toasted while the steak had a flavor that I couldn't put the sandwich down. The garlic mashed potatoes were a fantastic side. I asked if they had gravy and our waitress said the flavor of the potatoes wouldn't need it and she was right. The star of the night was the cheddar and broccoli soup. So creamy, cheesy, with this light butter like taste.
They were open until 10pm on a Wednesday which we were thankful for. Having 6 people and trying to find a place to eat after 8pm is hard when majority of places close at 9...we were glad this place stayed open later than most places

Dinner at the Woodfire Bar & Grille the on-site restaurant at the Holiday Inn Asheville East-Blue Ridge offers casual dining. It’s a traditional steak house that boasts a modern twist. Our dining experience was truly an outstanding one with the best service from our server, Erica. Some of the dishes we tried and loved include:

Garlic Shrimp Pasta. Jumbo shrimp sautéed in a garlic butter sauce with fresh asparagus spears and grape tomatoes. Served over angel hair pasta and topped with parmesan cheese.
Grilled Chicken. Tender and savory chicken breast seasoned and seared on the wood-fired grille.
Chicken Tenders. Hearty chicken breast tenders are lightly breaded, fried, and served with your favorite sauce. BBQ, Honey Mustard, Buffalo, Fire, or Sweet Chili.

All I can say is that our dining experience at the Woodfire Bar & Grille was amazing – both the quality and service exceeds our expectations.

The cook is like 7 stories tall lol. My Frenchie walked right up to him. Dude saved my life he just doesn't know it. I wish they hadn't sold out to the chain hotel. Trash business decision.

This Woodfire Bar and Grill is inside the Holiday Inn in Asheville, NC. You don't have to room here to eat at the restaurant but this is a 'top-notch hotel remodeled not too long ago. Believe it was August 2019 when I was here last. Very good experience then, and equally now. The Garlic Shrimp Pasta consisted of jumbo shrimp sauteed in garlic butter sauce with fresh asparagus spears and grape tomatoes over angel hair pasta and topped with Parmesan cheese served with a side salad. Came to a screeching halt when I saw that and placed my order. Excellent entrée! And the House Salad included rocks: seasonal field greens topped with shredded rainbow carrots grape tomatoes and English cucumbers. Excellent chef presentation, and this dish has so many different flavors. So full I had to get my piece of chocolate cake to go and walked it back to my room.

Great food, servers were very kind. Best French onion soup! Last minute needed a place to eat after a later than expected arrival to our Airbnb. This place was close and surprisingly great! Was honestly a little skeptical when we drove up and realized it was in the holiday inn - pleasantly proven wrong

We wanted a nice place to eat so when we pulled up and saw it was in a Holiday Inn we literally almost left. SO GLAD we didn’t! This is truly an amazing place to eat and was much better than the $100+/per person steakhouse I ate at in Charlotte earlier this week which is highly regarded. First, the Filet was “Prime” and one of the best filets I’ve had at a restaurant period! For context, I own a Big Green Egg and I am a steak connoisseur. The accompanying Caesar salad and garlic mash potatoes were amazing too! I also ate part of my daughters Philly Cheese steak and it was delicious with amazing bread. They even had locally sourced trout on the menu, grilled Brussels sprouts, etc. I typically don’t write reviews, but had we left I don’t think we would’ve found a better meal from A-Z in Asheville. All of our family, six total, had amazing dishes. The next time we visit we will definitely be coming back and the price was a steal! So……just get out of your car and you’ll love the food. On a side note, I will say the hotel looked newly remodeled so we may stay there next time on account of the restaurant.

This place is hands down the best restaurant I have been to in a while. We just left Vegas and ate at places like Hells Kitchen and I have to say the Filet at Woodfire is better. Not saying Hells Kitchen was bad, but this Filet melts in your mouth. I suggest if you are in Asheville come here and try it out yourself. You will not regret it. Also, every app we had was amazing and the service cannot be beat. The young lady working the bar took care of our table and handled it all with ease. It is inside the Holiday Inn but don't let that fool you. This food is incredible!! I will come back next time I am in Asheville. Not to mention we also came for breakfast for the buffet and it too was a great experience. It is real breakfast and not expensive. Please try this place if you are a steak lover!!

Great place to eat! Don't let the fact that it's part of a hotel deter you. They have delicious food and great service.

Philly Cheesesteak was amazing. Toasted bread had the perfect crispiness, carmelized onion and cheese melted and blended beautifully, shaved steak was tender and juicy, temperature consistently hot and sweet potatoe fries on point. Team here put heart in what they do, 5 🌟!

This is a great little restaurant on a side street in Black Mountain North Carolina. The dacor and vibe is definitely rustic. We had a great table outdoors for 4, kind of woodsy. Three of our party had Wood-Fired pizzas of assorted sundry different condiments, and I opted for the Fruitte de Mare with mussels, clams and shrimp with angel hair pasta. Everyone was really impressed with the quality of the food. Our server was great. While we move in Gaffney South Carolina about an hour and a half away we will definitely go back every chance we get. Five stars all the way!

We ate here our first night because we had a late arrival. I order the salmon with grilled brussel sprouts and my partner ordered a burger with fries. That was by far the best salmon and brussel sprouts I have ever eaten! They were both crispy and cooked to perfection! Compliments to the chef indeed!!!

What a hidden gem! This restaurant is located in the Holiday Inn (but is independent and not owned by HI). The service was great and the food was delicious. They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap and a good local wine list. Rolls are made in house and served with a wonderful honey butter. The wood grilled brussel sprouts are wonderful as were the ribs and pasta. Give this place a try!

The place looks inviting, and the food was just simply amazing. I had the pork chop and it was so thick yet juicy all the way to the center and seasoned right. The dessert (lemon raspberry something cake) is well balanced and refreshing. At first, we were hesitant because it was inside of a hotel but we are extremely pleased that we tried it.

Glad to find this place because we arrived in town late and a lot of the restaurants were either closed or closing. Was seated promptly and the food was great.

It was so good. Melt in your mouth steak. Everything was first class. They also had Biltmore wines on the list.

This is an amazing restaurant! From excellent service to outstanding food, it has a local charm that is lost in many establishments. All the food is made on site as the two top chefs are extraordinary and creative. The French Onion soup is unbelievable, and the ribs are delicious. One try and you'll be hooked like me...Promise!
