Nice family atmosphere here. Good food and service. The fajitas are so good as is most everything they cook here. The best thing is all the sauces you get. Great staff.

Extremely kind waitress (nicest we've ever had), very nice high chair & the best food. I really appreciate the free chips, lime, salsa & cheese dip. Huge drinks. Awesome atmosphere & music. My favorite resturant in Monroe and surrounding areas. The accept mobile wallet tap pay. I really appreciate the kindness we were shown. Feels like visiting a families home.

This place is absolutely delicious. The size portions are incredible for the price. Love the variety of salsa you get with your chips. The staff is very friendly. We would definitely frequent here if we did not live 2 hours away.

I’ve never ate at a food truck & I ate at the food truck today. Not sure if it’s the same as restaurant. I had 3 grilled steak tacos. Meat wasn’t tuff, paired it with guacamole & must I say it was AMAZING…. Almost ate the box & btw it was $11 for 3

AMAZING Mexican food!!! I’m visiting from out of town and am blown away by how good this place was. They offer fresh onions and peppers with the multiple salsa options and also include free queso with the chips. I got the beef enchiladas and we also ordered chicken fajitas. Service was fast and friendly and the place was quite busy around lunch time yet we still got in and out in under an hour. I will go back if I visit the area again.

If you want authentic Mexican dishes. Go eat here. They always have chips, salsa, and yummy queso dip for starters.

My family visited Taqueria La Unica on Cinco de Mayo and it was, as you could imagine, slammed. The wait wasn't horribly long given how busy it was (approximately 15-20 minutes). I was expecting our visit to be horrible given the day but I was pleasantly surprised. The servers were on top of everything and somehow managed to take care of us and their many other tables despite the overwhelming number of people.

The food here is typical of a Mexican restaurant but really good regardless. I filled up pretty quickly on chips and salsa but continued to gorge when my tacos came out. I enjoyed my meal and will be back if I'm in the area. Highly recommended.

I would normally say this was a four-star restaurant however, given the situation the staff earned an extra star.

Best Mexican Food by far! Huge portions, so you can share or take home for later. I do both dine-in and take-out.

I've been there 100s of times, and the place never fails to have clean tables, nice, respectful waiters, extremely fast service, and yet the food is still fresh every time, not just microwaved stuff. If you go, I suggest the California burrito with chicken. Also the place isn't even that expensive. It's like 13 dollars a plate. Not a single wrong thing with this place.

Fantastic! Very friendly staff, super quick lunch service. Complimentary chips, 5 types of salsa, and cheese dip. Had the Burrito La Unica with chicken and it was delicious. Came out in under 5 minutes and was less than 8 bucks! Definitely recommend and I'll be back.

Conversational Spanish 2020. This was the dining location we went to after the completion of the class. The application of Espanol as the dining began was memorable! Taco who? If you're looking for true mexican cuisine, I recommend this restaurant!

I'm giving La Unica Monroe 5 stars based solely on the chicken chimichanga. Because that's all I ever get here. It far surpasses the chimichanga at the other Mexican restaurants.
I love the other restaurants too, but they can't touch this chimichanga!
It's big and full of meat, rice, and beans; topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole.
The other places' chimis are small with only meat inside and covered in cheese sauce. LU Monroe really has it going on!
They also bring out free cheese dip, two salsas, pico, and limes with your chips when you sit down.
I have occasionally had slow service here, but it is far outweighed by the chimichanga. Just one person's opinion, but it's a strong one! 😀

Chorizo nachos and barbacoa quesadilla were good. Fresh salsa very good.

OMG...this is absolutely the best Mexican food I've had anywhere in NC. The tortilla chips were huge, fresh and not at all greasy.
I had the chicken chimichanga and it was HUGE!! Everything was packed with flavor and simply FANTASTIC!!! Even though I have a Mexican restaurant one minute from my house, I will gladly make the 25 minute drive to eat at Tacqueria La Unica

Always quick service. The food is excellent and full of flavor. Servers are always making rounds and helpful.

Hands down some of the best Mexican food north of the border. I grew up eating street vendor food in Los Angeles and at the tables of my friends families with food made by their abuelitas. I am VERY, VERY IMPRESSED to find such quality, fresh food in this sleepy little restaurant. Worth every penny and then some. La comida es buena para chuparse los dedos!!

My favorite mexican food joint. I love that they bring you free cheese dip and 5 salsas to choose from!! The green avocado salsa is my favorite!! And their fajitas are to die for!! Love, love this place!!

Good place for a taste of Mexico. Locals have a good spot to have good food. Service was good and my fish was cooked to perfection. Rice and beans also had a very good taste. If i lived in Monroe this would be one of my regular places to go.
