Amazing service! No reservations, generous amounts, would definitely go again! The amount of food served is so much that most people have takeaways

I would eat here every night if I could! My fiancé and I both got the yakiniku steak and chicken. Portions were plentiful with plenty to bring home and the food was well seasoned!

Come to Boone often, but this is my first time at Makoto’s.

Love Hibachi and I’ve been to a few. This one checks most of the boxes. We came at lunch and it was very cold in the building, which I didn’t mind but others in my group weren’t happy about it, so the fire show was welcome.

They were very accommodating with my mother’s allergy to shrimp and considerate to everyone at the table. The soup appetizer was the best I’ve had compared to other hibachi places and the salad with ginger dressing was good as well.

I tried the Shumai (Pork filled dumpling) fried. I’d recommend getting it steamed, however, but it was good. The sauce it came with was a little too salty in my opinion.

Shout out to the Chef, I didn’t get his name but he was a cool dude.

Typical hibachi style Japanese restaurant. I had the filet, medium rare of course, and it was cooked to perfection! The chef was awesome, the wait was about 20-30 minutes, and it was a great experience!

We are from Florida vacationing at sugar mountain and stopped in here. We had a great time here. Everyone was so nice and chef Ibrahim was very skilled and interactive. I would definitely recommend!

We have lived in Boone for seven years and have been coming up here for 15 years prior to that and never visited Makoto's. We decided to give it a shot this evening and we were not disappointed. The food is delicious, the portions are huge and You can't take your eyes off the cook!! Too much fun!

We had ate here a few years ago and loved it, but almost passed on them this ski trip due to a few recent sub-par reviews we read. However, after reading those completely and taking into account that the complaints we saw seemed to be related to staffing issues that I believe most businesses are struggling with these days. I’m glad we ignored them and went anyway. Our server Nick was very attentive to our large party of 10. He kept our drinks full, and made sure we had everything we ordered. The chef Jett was just as awesome and entertaining. I could tell that he enjoyed putting on a show for us and kept us laughing throughout our meal. The food was GREAT as we remembered and we will definitely try them again when in the area. The other reviews had to have came from an off night or they have corrected the issues mentioned as we didn’t experience any of those things tonight.

We came here with my almost 2 year old. Our waiter was phenomenal. Caleb went above and beyond . He asked us how could he accommodate our little one so we can have an enjoyable time. Juice, food whatever he can do to help. Our drinks were always filled, any extras he brought out fast. Thank you so much Caleb! Food and service was excellent!

Enjoyed every aspect of the food, the service, and the chef! I would definitely recommend coming here with your family and friends for a delicious display of Japanese cuisine and artistry. My only complaint is that it was COLD in there, otherwise we had a great time.

I would like to pay a compliment to Bailey who was our server, our chef (whose name I don’t know), and all the staff at Makoto’s. Bailey was extremely hospitable, very kind and welcoming. She seemed to be very genuine and I really appreciate that. She made our first visit a great visit and I just want to say thank you.

Wow this is possibly the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to!! Everything was cooked perfectly and the carrots were so good my wife even ate hers!!!

Great food and service. Reminds me of my grandmother's home growing up, although she got a lot less twirly with the knives after the incident with her thumb. Onion volcanoes just like I grew up with!

Or meal and drinks were so delicious, and Catrina did an awesome job serving us, also don't forget to get Catrina's Cosmo is a must-have, overall great staff, great service, and Delicious food cooked right in front of you, Daniel was our Chef and did an amazing Job, getting everyone's order on point, love you guy's, definitely will see you very soon again.

Good food & service. 1 hour wait time due to limited covid seating, Friday night, & winter season but worth the wait. Talented cook & very friendly. Special delight, I've never had sugared cooked banana's, they were Great 🎉

Very polite staff. The food was cooked to our order. I LOVED the sipping soup! That was definitely one of the highlights of the meal.

Great service, We had chef Kevin and he truly changed my life. His show was absolutely stunning. A mix of emotional and physical theatrics. An absolute out of body experience.

Husband got the jumbo shrimp and I got Sushi. His shrimp was excellent and my sushi was outstanding. I bought two tuna rolls and the California roll. Both were perfect temperature. My only complaint is our waitress hardly checked on us. We were her only table and only guests at that table so that shouldn’t have been the case. Otherwise, we love Makotos!

Very good place. Haven't been here in a couple decades, but it's still awesome. Wait time was shorter than what they said so that was good also. Food was fantastic. Service was great. Sushi was fantastic. And the fried bananas.. yes!

The food was great and the family that we sit with were great company.
