I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ryes for over 5 years and his office staff is amazing and I have always admired him for the wonderful care he has given of my entire family. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I have been seeing Dr. Reyes since 2009. I have a rare congenital heart disease and he cares for me well. Most adult doctors do not even know what it is. He is honest, blunt and caring. He was there for me through a rough pregnancy and has kept me healthy for years. Like I said he is blunt though so if you need to be sugar coated then he is not the one. He will never lie to you and will tell you how it is. He is also very funny!

This doctor was assigned to my husband years ago after a surgery my husband had. My husband nearly passed out in the shower, and was then transported to St Luke's Hospital. We initially were told, after many, many tests and doctors we'd never met, and were billed for, that my husband had endured a series of minor heart attacks over the years. After being released from the hospital, my husband had follow-up visits with Dr Reyes and had more tests done. The fees for the hospital and office were very high. We had just finished paying everything off when the doctor announced that he needed to have a stint in his heart. So my husband was put in day surgery at the hospital for what we were told was a 10% blockage. Afterward surgery, we were told by Dr Reyes that he did not put the stint in after all because the blockage was insignificant and he didn't think the stint was needed after all. So why do the surgery in the first place??? We were also told that he had NOT suffered a series of heart attacks, and that he never told us that. So here we were yet again, with massive bills to pay off, for absolutely NOTHING! I began the process of paying the bills again and got down to a zero balance, which I was keeping track of monthly. Yet, my payments were not being posted to the account. The office staff was rude and began to harass us about the bills that were not being paid. At that time, the doctor's email was on the website and I contacted him about it. I did not receive any response from him. I received a response from a 'new' office manager, and also noticed that his email was removed from the website from that time on. I was told that it seems the mail was piling up on the desk and several of my payments were sitting in a stack, for months, never having even been opened. I got all this straightened out, finally, after many calls and time spent. After several months again, I found a charge for $100 from our bank account to this office. I was investigating two other bogus charges from another doctor and a medical supply company when I came across it, just by chance. Because of Dr Reyes neglectful office staff, they just 'thought' we owed it and charged our account without bothering to contact us. There is nothing I could say about the years of foolish expense spent under the 'care' of this doctor. I would not recommend him to anyone. The best I could say is I would hope that the doctor would come in handy if a person was having a heart attack! But be prepared for a ridiculous bill afterwards!

The service here is horrible. My parents both came to this doctor for years but the staff is just getting worse and worse. I was in the waiting room waiting for my father who was scheduled for testing at 8:30 a.m but wasn’t tested til 12. That wasn’t even my main concern. There was this older lady who wanted to ask a question and no one was at the desk. So another lady said hello and the lady in the back yelled “what” with such an ugly attitude. It’s sad they they can get away with treating senior citizens like that and think it’s okay. She was the sweetest old lady just wanting her appointment card. She had patience and I sure didn’t after that. I did talk to the office manager to make my concerns heard. Go elsewhere.

During my office visit with Dr. Reyes he was too busy signing papers that his office staff interupted our appointment and brought in and then he took 3 phone calls. Once he finally got around to me as a patient, I told him I didn't like having so many interuptions. I was paying for his time. He made a pouting face like a baby. Like if I was a joke. He spent very little time with me and only answered questions I directly asked him. No discussion of tests I had taken until I asked. When I got to the front to make another appointment again he made a joke of me because I wanted uninterrupted time with him. And showed his pouty face he made to me to his office staff. The next day I cancelled my appointment and got an appointment with a PROFESSIONAL doctor. Dr. Reyes receptionist said that I owed them $42.00 and that I was sent to collection. That is fine with me. Just as I was a joke to him...his $42.00 is a joke to me. I plan to tell everyone in my new doctors office that Dr. Reyes is a quack. He is a shame to REAL doctors.

Dr. Reyes was assigned to me at the hospital so they recommended I see him for the follow up after my heart attack. I had already discussed my financial circumstances with Toni who said they would take pmts bcz I have no insurance. But the rates were still outrageous for my budget so Arielle(?) (receptionist) suggested I try getting assistance. Nurse Kelly agreed she would refill my prescriptions when I was down to a week's worth and give me 30 days to find insurance. I called and called, left voicemail, spoke to the answering service, they never ever called me back. I called for 4 days. Finally (3 pills left) I called my pharmacist and asked her to please call for me. She called me right back (funny how they took HER call) and said Nurse Kelly denied my prescription stating I had to go in for an office visit. I called and halleluyah Arielle answered and I told her I needed to speak to Nurse Kelly immediately and explained why. Nurse Kelly has no business dealing with the public. I politely reminded her of the agreement she made with me and stated I was down to 3 pills. She said I had to go in for a visit. I told her we've already been through that and I was waiting on approval from Medicaid...she literally tried to SHAME ME by stating in a condescending tone, and I quote, "If you can't afford a doctor's visit, how are you going to afford your medicine?" (I was shocked) but finally said, "it cost me $31 for generic...when I got out of the hospital..." silence, more silence...I finally said, "never mind, I guess I have to call the hospital to see if a doctor will help me get my medication" ... she never said a word. I will NEVER go back to that office. Just because someone has hit hard times (We lost our business) does not entitle someone (Nurse) to treat them like dirt.
