Went to renew my passport, great service! Very helpful and friendly.
Very nice post office, feels like the 30s. Great mural!
Have an appointment and/or you've got to go early!

Good. Based on comments below, i didnt bring my belongings due to security check. It is interesting to visit here in a great building. And everyone was nice and kind.

Grand building at the heart of San Antonio, Tx. Its architecture is of the old 19th century which brings a royal essence to the building.

Its next to the Alamo so tourists can take photos of this or go inside and check it out.

Overall it adds beauty to the tourist spot in San Antonio and I loved it!

We were just helped by George he was so helpful and kind our family!! Can’t thank him enough

I went for passport application. The service was great! I was in and out in 10 minutes! Really recommend this place 👍 The staff was really nice too.

Hey this is the oldest biggest United States post office in #Sanantonio ! This Post Office locates directly across the street from the Alamo. Post office was built in 1935 with th intent to service all of San Antonio. It’s also a United States courthouse where a lot of cases are held not only for the city of San Antonio but the state of Texas. #Alamo #Texas #Postoffice

I had important documents sent overnight to this post office and held for pick up. I showed up late morning for pick up and it hadn’t yet arrived. George provided excellent service. He took my number and called me when the package arrived. Thank you George for your excellent customer service!

The security officers were very helpful and calm. It’s worth coming just to look at the building. The cleanest bathroom ever in this country.

Entry on the front of the building. (Yes, you get to experience history when buying stamps !) Beautiful, classical structure. You pass through a metal detector before entering.
Post office has normal mailing services & passport forms, PO Boxes, etc.
Kind & helpful staff.

What a great experience! My husband and I had a 9:15 appointment for passports for our kiddos and chose this location hoping it would be empty. We forgot our photos at home and the employee was gracious enough to let us come back twenty minutes later with the photos. The employee was super friendly as well which was awesome.

Give yourself time for parking amd security. There isn't much cheap street parking because it is located right across from the Alamo.

This is a beautiful old building worth visiting just to see the architecture, light fixtures and old-school charm. The guards in the front and post office employees are super friendly and helpful. I went to get my passport renewed - I was the only one there, and the process was super fast, no waiting and painless. Whenever I'm downtown this is the P.O. I use. Parking can be tricky but there are metered spaces a couple of blocks away on 3rd Ave. near the Scottish Rite temple and I almost always find a spot there no problem. Today there was even an unexpired parking sticker on the payment machine so my parking was free too!

I stop here for all my mail service, and I feel powerful as all hell walking into a building like this, it is gorgeous. The place is never busy so I'm in quick and out quick unlike any other post office and the clerks here were incredibly helpful in every occasion I've come by, even helping me get a passport with information no other post office was really sure about.
There is a security check at the front door, metal detector, bag checker and all, but it's never been a bother.

What a great place, right through from the first encounter with the security guards to the post man, everyone was so friendly and helpful! Highly recommend these wonderful people! Even helped when we couldn't fit through the doors

Very good postal service. Especially the guards, they're helpful to us disabled people. The building is something else to look at.

It's open. It's inside the federal building through security. I shipped a package there. The postal officer was nice.

Security officers are nice when you enter building. I always go here to mail things quickly.

The staff from the security guards to the postal worker were incredibly kind and patient. I always have such a positive experience here
