Dr. Damien B. Mallat, MD

After reading the bad reviews from so many, I feel compelled to write one with my take. I didn't spend any time with the Dr. prior to procedure - a phone visit then one right before procedure. He seemed nice enough and reassuring. We didn't make plans for cocktails later in the week or family time together but he took care of business and we will be in touch at some future point, hopefully not real soon. I didn't want a friend or a detailed report of every single thing he saw and did - that's a definite pass - but I did receive a call with the results in a timely fashion. He was, once again, courteous and delivered my results with professionalism. I'll take a competent Dr. with the ability to focus on his job over one that feels the need to reassure through small talk instead of just dealing with the problem or doing their job. It is about skill as a physician, not hand holding for me. Besides I'm positive he deals with a lot of crap from so many people, so I figure I can overlook if he isn't Mr. Sunshine - he did a great job.

I happened across Dr Mallat he was the only gastro Dr accepting new patients when I got a referral from the ER. I had been sick about 1-2years before I finally got a diagnoses of chronic pancreatitis. Its been a blessing because he specializes and knows alot about the pancreas. He has been a life saver by performing celiac plexus block for pain. I have had 3 or 4. If im bad sick I call the office and he calls me by that evening for a phone appt. And procedure set bu the next week! Hes not much on talking. Just straight to business…and office is hard to reach but when you do they are very nice. but Dont let that fool you on his expertise and knowledge. Im so thankful 🙏

Nurses are very friendly and good. I love Dr. Mallat.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Mallat since 2014 and he saved my life. After 2 years of being sick and seeing many doctors and tests, Dr. Mallat knew immediately when he went down with a scope (which other doctors did) what the problem was.
I’ve been getting pancreas stents every 8-12 weeks for 9 years now.
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Mallat and his staff. Great team❤❤❤

I’ve been seeing Doctor Mallat now for almost 8 years and I feel that he is one of the top doctors in Dallas. He does a great job takes a little bit to get to know him but he’s a very good person very good doctor and once you get to know him, you will enjoy his personality.

Dr mallot is a very good doctor,an he really cares for his patience..he is so good I referred my mother an all my friends to him..he won't stop till he gets to the problem an solves it...he is a very good doctor.

Dr. Mallat really cares about his patients. He took the time to listen to what I had to say and was very straightforward and insightful with his assessment and responses, which I appreciated. He really takes into consideration what his patients are saying. He is extremely knowledgable and was able to recommend a few different treatments for me right off the bat in my first appointment. Very timely and responsive to special circumstances. His staff is dedicated, very friendly, and helpful!

Dr Mallat was caring and compassionate. I walked in with stomach issues. We talked and within a few minutes he suggested surgery. Sounds crazy, but seriously it wasn't bad. I trusted him and went through with the procedure. A round of antibiotics later, my stomach and I am much better. Oh and Staff is super helpful with insurance stuff!

I am fascinated at times when he performs a difficult procedure with such ease. I am responsible for ordering the speciality supplies that he requires - he is professional, well-informed on how equipment works and what will work best.
