La Tapatia Market and Tacos

I'm originally from Southern California, now living in Morgantown area. This Mexican restaurant is by far the most authentic and closely reassembles some spots I frequented back in the day in California.

This establishment is fantastic! I have visited the business many times over the last three years. A few times to shop while ordering food (whether dining in or for take out). The staff there are so polite, the food is fantastic (as authenticas it can be, you would have to be in Mexico to make it any more authentic)! And they have great prices, whether you are there for the food or to shop. Every single time, the service and experience have been consistent. I do very few reviews, but in this instance, after being a customer so many times and the quality and consistency, I have to review! 5 stars across the board. If you enjoy food as much as I, especially Mexican food, there is nowhere else to visit in Morgantown!

The food here is always so good - the arroz con pollo and the tacos are my favorites. Definitely give the tongue tacos a try! Nice selection of drinks in the cooler and tons of products in the market that are harder to find elsewhere. One of my favorite places to go

Restaurant inside supermarket. I got tongue, chorizo and al pastor tacos and the guacamole with chips, they have a great salsa and condiments bar to help yourself. Service was good, clean place, guacamole didn't taste fresh though.

Super cute market/restaurant mix with great Mexican food! We got takeout and ate in the car for convenience. The burrito j, veggie tacos, and guac were all wonderful. my boyfriend inhaled the burrito in about 45 seconds, no joke. I looked over and saw how big it was and said “wow!” looked away to my taco and when I looked back it was gone haha! The guacamole was fresh and I loved the bite of the onions. The veggie tacos had great grilled flavor and soft corn tortilla - the aroma hit my face when I opened the foil and I just melted. I would love to try some of the meat tacos to see more of what the have to offer. The server was very kind, and we picked up some fun snacks while we were there to try. Wonderful experience!

La Tapatia is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Morgantown (and probably West Virginia)
Most people will choose to order delivery through DoorDash, which is fine. If given the opportunity though, I recommend going in person and eating there. The restaurant doubles as a Mexican convenience/grocery store and contains many products you can usually only find while abroad. They have an excellent assortment of dried chilis.
Their queso is among the best I’ve ever had, so I recommend that. Their tacos are very good and “street” style, so order 3 if you’re hungry. The burritos are forearm-sized and are also very delicious.

Delicious & AUTHENTIC Mexican food.
We always order the choriqueso dip to start because it’s very good. I love the steak torta it’s a delicious Mexican panini. Everything is so fresh! & reasonably good prices!

I’m from California and this is the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. I can not recommend this place enough!

If you want authentic Mexican flavor, come here. My boyfriend loved it and he's hard to impress with Mexican food because he's been in the states less than a year and still has the flavors of home (Chiapas) on his mind and tastebuds. This place made him happy, and he loved it; I loved it too!

Authentic and delicious. It’s the closest thing to being in California carnicerias with the grocery store inside. You can find products here you won’t find anywhere else on the east coast. I was homesick for my west coast taco trucks and this fulfilled that craving. Thanks for bringing culture to WV!

Tacos were great. Some of the best Mexican food I've had since I moved up here. More authentic then most other Mexican places in the area.

Authentic Mexican street tacos. Shrimp taco was a highlight. You can tell everything is homemade here. Very nice lineup of salsas as well.

This is the best food in Morgantown. We love getting the vegetarian tacos and a mexican bev from the grocery section. Very reasonable prices for high quality eats. Big fan of the topping bar!

This is the most authentic and delicious Mexican food in the area. I drove over an hour and it was well worth it. The tortillas were fresh and warm, doubled up, and the meat was seasoned perfectly. There was an array of choices for salsa and sauces, and all the ones I tried were delicious. They also had a nice selection of domestic and Mexican beverages.

Great Mexican food with awesome flavors! Don't be fooled by the food truck out front. It is a market and restaurant inside. Really cool place, will definitely come back.

Hands down, the best Burrito and Taco's I've had since leaving San Antonio, TX. I've eaten at plenty of places, but none have compared. The food and service were excellent. I would literally drive up to Morgantown to go to this place so having a kid at WVU is a plus!
