This is the worst management company I have ever come across. Whatever you do, DO NOT move into their property located at 229 Marengo Ave!! You will have to deal with having to constantly contact 911, for a shooting incident, domestics incidents, etc. Also your packages will never be safe! I could go on and on but if you have another choice please do not move here! Management could care less about their residents well being.

Do not do any type of business with this company. I viewed an apartment I liked, I applied and signed a lease and then when my move in date came (November 1, 2022) the apartment they tried to tell me was mine was nowhere near the same what I agreed to. It was a different floor plan and smaller. I refused to move in. They said they would cancel my lease and I have been trying to get in writing that they agreed to cancel my lease but Jessica Hodge refuses to. She said it’s against company policy to provide such thing and that she doesn’t want to do it because she “doesn’t want to lose her job” but when I ask to speak to a supervisor or a manager she says there’s no one else I can speak to this about. Which one is it? Are you afraid to lose your job because your manager is going to fire you if you do something that’s against company policy? Or are you just lying and looking for excuses to not provide in writing that the lease is canceled so at the end of the month they can come after me for not paying rent for an apartment I didn’t agree to live in? Because if you’re afraid to get fired, how is it possible you don’t have a manager I can speak to?

I will continue calling and emailing every day and am recording everything in case I need to take legal action in the future.

I wouldn't recommend RCS to anyone, ever!! We had a nasty eviction battle during COVID-19 (we settled), and they accepted rental assistance. We have been gone for months, and I see the balance that was accepted in assistance is now on my credit report!!!! We had a $0 balance when we left! Don't you worry RCS, I'll be getting ALLL the assistance back! Dirty, shady, unprofessional, CROOKS!

I worked as a property manager at a location with three buildings on the south east side of Chicago, and during my tenure, I encountered several troubling issues. The previous manager had embezzled money from the tenants, putting them in arrears, and despite my willingness to address the problems, the company demanded receipts for reimbursement that had never been provided. Astonishingly, the former manager got away with approximately $50,000, yet faced no legal consequences and was still in the office management business on the west side of Chicago.

The properties suffered from numerous issues, including roof issues, infestations of mice and roaches, and an elevator that had been out of service for a year prior to my arrival that had tenants on higher floors in wheelchairs. Despite my efforts to help the tenants, I was terminated because I didn't fill vacancies quickly enough, even though some of these vacancies had rodent and bug infestations that would not be fixed but wanted me to rent them out and the current tenants were elderly individuals on limited monthly budgets, and they had consistently paid their rent on time, only to have their funds stolen.

My attempts to communicate with the corporate office were often in vain; I frequently struggled to reach a live person, and when I did, my concerns were inadequately addressed. The treatment of tenants and employees at this establishment is deeply disappointing, and I sincerely hope that the necessary changes are made in the future. My intention in sharing this is not bitterness, but rather a commitment to honesty. I worked there in 2014, and it's disheartening to see that the issues I encountered continue to persist, as indicated by recent reviews.

Worst Rental company i’ve ever worked with. Refuse to speak with tenants both via phone and when they go to office aboutnissues at their units. Do not respond to maintenance requests or work orders, charge unreasonable and retaliatory fees on renters. Corporate office won’t respond to phone calls or messages. Their property manager, Kyle, who was subsequently fired/quit because he was about to be fired, in Bloomington made false promises to a large number of tenants with regards to their bills, didn’t follow-up on anything and the new manager, Nora, is the nastiest person I’ve spoken to via phone in a long time. Refuses to stop talking long enough for you to be heard, will not listen to reason, refused to provide any documentation regarding back rent/fees owed by tenants and states corporate won’t allow it. Says to call corporate, but they refuse to respond.

I am a professional who was contacted by a number of tenants regarding the above issues - I do not live nor have I ever lived in a rental of RCS, I would highly recommend you do not either. They are bare bones, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. Not tenant focused or accommodating in any way and will do their best to make you as miserable as possible with intent.

If I could rate them 0 stars I would.

Realty Consulting Services recently took over Marengo Apts. located in Forest Park. Since the take over the company has been horrible. There is no cleaning of the building on a daily basis as before. There is a MAJOR mice issue and there hasn't been any remedy to rectify this issue. Before there was a hired tenant in the building that would collect all delivery packages to ensure nothing was stolen. Realty Consulting Services stop that. They stated that it's not their responsibility. Okay well put some camera's up to protect the residents at 229 Marengo. This is a horrible company. Just avoid them.

This service has only been managing our building for about one month. The response time to apartment problems is zero to none. Elevator problems are constant. No manager on site. No maintenance that is exclusive for daily needs, and they are every day.
Do not rent any apartment in any building managed by this service.

I gave a 60 day notice cleaned my apartment and they still have not refunded my security deposit after I moved out and we are on day number 51...... They don't answer the phone or return calls.... They say they have 45 days to refund

I still have my receipt they overcharged me you did not give me the right food

This is the worst company to do business with. They never answer the phone and do not return calls!!

The management and the maintenance are horrible here
