I have always wanted to try this place. So glad we did. Food was delicious! Friendly service and food came out very quick! Super impressed. Not afraid to overload on the whipped cream! I can’t wait to go back for lunch! Menu was mouth watering!

I ordered the El Diablo pulled pork sandwich. The pork had a delicate texture. It has a nice smoky scent; the amount of the pulled pork is quite generous. It was finished with coleslaw and pickle. It is presented in brioche buns. It has a zesty and sweet sauce. The sauce has a pleasant spice. I can't wait to return and sample more items from the menu.

A great place for lunch. Delicious Brisket sandwich, moist and flavorful, complimented with their tasty BBQ sauce. The Pulled Pork was also delicious. The service was friendly with welcomed suggestions and information that helped us choose the perfect meals. The kid in me also appreciated the airplane decor hanging from the ceiling. Highly recommended and we'll be back to try their other smoked meats (the Turkey is next on the list).

This is a perfect spot for breakfast. Located in downtown Barrington, Canteen restaurant is the place to go for delicious briskets all day long. The food and service here is a 10/10.

We tried the avocado toast with brisket & the smoked brisket with eggs. The brisket was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and I loved the smoky flavor. The Greek frappe iced coffee that was recommended by the host was amazing. I could have had two of those.

The wait staff is so friendly and the restaurant has such good vibes. We were there for 2+hours and the staff checked on us often. I need to go back there asap and try other things on their menu

If you’re a fan of the good ole diner feel then get to canteen as soon as possible. They have all the diner classics that you love but they throw in an exquisite barbecue twist. I opted for the Diablo pulled pork skillet and it was some of the best barbecue sauce I’ve ever tasted. (Diablo is a bit misleading. It was very tangy with a little kick at the end)

Everything you get, you’ll enjoy. It’s a small place where it feels like everyone is a regular. You’ll love it.

Went to breakfast here twice, first was a brisket hash, next was a cheeseburger. Both trips had me filled up and smiling. Basic diner setup but with much better food than your usual "greasy spoon"! Highly recommend if you're in the area.

The best brisket you will ever taste in Illinois. Their pulled pork is still my favorite. But the staff are always attentive and friendly and if you come in on the regular this place becomes your Cheers of BBQ.

Can't beat the smell of smoked meat at breakfast! Brisket skillet - so good. Simple atmosphere, friendly people, fantastic food. Great little place in downtown Barrington. Love this place!

We been coming here for breakfast past few years, the brisket hash & eggs dish was dry & cold. My dish French toast was too thick but d grilled ham w melted Brie & honey Dijon sauce made it very tasty. We’ll have to come back to try their new menu for lunch bbq pulled pork or brisket sounds delicious 😋

Giving this place a 5 star because of the service and the food that was recommended to me. The place is ok inside, I like the little decor but it was kind of cold in there. I would go back and try something else for sure.

I honestly drive an hour round trip to this place just to get bottles of their Diablo bbq sauce. The best bbq sauce I’ve ever had. Try it on fried chicken or even on Mac n cheese!

OK. Let me start by the environment. It's crowded and congested seating arrangement and very warm temperature of the restaurant. But it's worth it once you see the fast and efficient service and extremely tasty breakfast. I ordered Portobello Benedict. It was one of the best breakfast I had. Will definitely come again.

I will be dreaming about their brisket. Absolutely delicious. This is our new favorite spot. They’re sauces are to die for. As for the atmosphere ❤❤❤❤. The owner is a sweetheart. Such an awesome person. Staff is absolutely great. I highly recommend this place. I will be there at least once a week.

The staff was friendly. The food was better than I expected. This pancake house advertised they were rated the best beef brisket, left me a little skeptical. BUT, once I bit into the brisket sandwich, I agree. The sandwich was delicious.

A great find. Apparently a mainstay in the area and some of the best breakfast food I have had in a long time. If you are a fan of biscuits and gravy then you will fall in love. I actually went with a custom order and they had no troubles. Price is right and the flavor and service more than worthwhile.

After years of driving by, the wife and I decided to give it a try. It was SO good! Great staff, cozy/homey atmosphere, super clean, and INCREDIBLE food! Everyone at the table really enjoyed their food. I had the burnt ends sandwich, and it was honestly one of the best things I have EVER eaten! I would include a picture, but I didn't want to put it down to snap a shot! Lol

By far the best barbecue/breakfast place I’ve ever been to. The food is delicious and the portions size is a lot. I highly recommend the brisket melt, tacos, French toasts, and the Diablo skillet. Everything I have tried has not disappointed. Staff is really nice and they are quick with service! Will always be my top choice for brunch ❤

Always a great place for breakfast. The staff is always friendly and treat you like family. My server today is Camrin and today is her first day as a server. She found out it was my birthday and had the kitchen make me a treat. See the photo of the cherry crepe.
