Just tried this place today, it was SO good!! Service was amazing, our server was so friendly and good at keeping up with everyone! Food came out fast and it was delicious. The shrimp taco was awesome. I can definitely see why it was so busy, keep in mind the dine in area is pretty small. We’ll definitely be back!

Wow. As an expat Texan, I'm always looking for a new taco joint. This place hits the spot! The choices are plentiful and the ambiance is fun and casual. The tacos were great! If I lived closer by, I would be here all the time. Hats off to Taco Vida!

Some of the best authentic tacos Ive had anywhere, including Mexico City! Homemade tortillas, the tacos are STUFFED with delicious meat, and they have some of the best al pastor of all time and they always ensure every taco is covered in pineapple, which is perfect! Highly recommend this place!

This is a hidden gem and I will be taking people back here. The food is amazing and atmosphere friendly and bustling! I had the flight of soup and it was delicious. I can't wait to try the tacos. And best they have take out too!

First time here, and we will definitely go back. Tacos were delicious! We tried the Tinga de Pollo and AL Pastor tacos. We also tried some guacamole, which was some of the best I've ever had. Margaritas were delicious as well as horchata. Everything was clean inside. Our server, Freddy, was awesome!! Sat down right away and got our food promptly also. Very fresh and tasty ingredients.

We’ve visited Taco Vida so many times now, I’ve lost count. It’s located in an old outdoor plaza way in the back, by a doggy daycare. There’s plenty of free parking and an outdoor patio with overflow space if it’s too busy inside. Outdoor seating is limited to togo orders, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t order food and enjoy the tables there. They always have a new taco of the week that I love trying! I tried my first chicharron here on a taco before, and micro greens. Each taco is made fresh to order with homemade corn tortillas in house that are SOOO good!! They have the very best beer battered fish tacos (their Sea of Cortez taco) I’ve EVER had in all of Chicago and suburbs. Their salsas are made in house, too. The red salsa has some sort of roasted red pepper in it and the green is perfect. They have horchata, frescas, imported bottled Coke, margaritas and other beers! This is a great place for small parties and foodie friends. I absolutely need to update this review again at a later date with better food photos — I ate my tacos too fast to take better pics in the past. Can’t wait to go again. ❤🌮

Very Impressed. I just moved to the North Shore from Downtown and have been looking for a good taco place. FOUND IT! The Taco's are exactly what I wanted. They are delicious, flavorful, fairly priced and truly hit the spot!. The order was fast and accurate. I also chatted with the owner, Freddy, for a bit when I was waiting and he is a true gentleman and veteran of the hospitality industry. He takes pride in his restaurant and it shows. Highly Recommend! I will be back!

Amazing taqueria that portions its variations of tacos well for their price. I was initially hesitant coming here because I'm not familiar with $5 tacos. There was also a pretty spicy review somewhere in the list that shirked me from trying it. (Such is life, I suppose)

The taqueria seems much larger from the outside than in. There's probably enough seating on the inside for maybe 10-15 persons, but their menu is tacos. Service was quick, and it really felt like there was never a dull moment from ordering to receiving and eating the food.

Tacos are portioned very well. Despite ordering three here, there's always that temptation of smashing that fourth one in. Their pork al pastor didn't quite hit the spot, but their tinga de pollo and beer-battered sea of Cortez with the squeeze of lime took it to the next level.

Their fried pickled jalapenos are intense! I feel like I had this in the taste of Chicago several years back and haven't seen or eaten until today. Great conversation starter and has two different mayo-based flavor profiles that one of which can get you sucked into flavor town.

Their horchata doesn't leave much room for improvement, but I'm curious whether there could be some additional milk fat to make it taste richer.

It's a blessing and a curse that the DMV is right by there. You shouldn't miss this restaurant, but there normally are very few spots and fewer chairs as rush hour comes along.

Freddy and his crew do a great job! There food is always good and the service is very good also. Once my DMV visit was over I had to stop over and get some tacos on my way home. This place is much better than taco nano and happy that it's close to home. Keep up the good work!

Six stars. Truly a standout among taco places. Fresh homemade tortillas. Traditional favorites. Original gourmet takes on Mexican food. Service was fast and friendly. The prices were a little high, but the quality was a little bit on the high side too. I'm glad to have found this place.

Friendly, personable service and excellent menu with too many menu favorites for my stomach to handle in one order. Elotes (street corn in a cup)hit the spot, Fresh guacamole is made at 3 levels of spicy, horchata was good (not too sweet or chalky as I’ve had elsewhere) and camarones, though simple in its preparation with watercress (I think that’s what it was), was fresh and big shrimp sizes. My picky son said the carne asada taco was best he ever had. I want to save room for tres leches cake next time. Decor is fun and colorful and inviting even if chairs are cold (metal). So glad to have this place nearby.

Taco Vida has really excellent food! My husband had the Carne Asada, Pollo and Ahi Tuna tacos and loved them all. I had the veggie tacos, refried black beans, a fried plantains - everything tasted extremely fresh and was seasoned very well. We split and order of the very tasty guacamole and also really enjoyed their salsas. The hot is very spicy just the way I like it. We'll definitely be coming back here again!

Words can't describe how I feel about this place. There's Mexican food, then there's SOUL FOOD! GOOD GREAT DELICIOUS FLAVOR CULINARY ARTISTIC FOOD! Great customer service, the owner is fantastic, and he actually gets to know his customers. The only problem is that the dining area is small. The food is TOO GOOD to only have seating for 30 customers! I found this place on accident and I'm so happy I did! This place is pricey for Mexican food but it's worth it. The BENTLEY of Tacos. My mouth is watering typing right now! Just go if you haven't and you love Mexican food!
