Beautiful environment, amazing food, and wonderful staff. My girlfriend and I sat down for the first time and realized pretty quick that a lot of the neighboring tables were regulars with good relationships to the servers. Speaking of, we were served and cared for by Liz who was absolutely incredible - even on a busy night with every table occupied, she still gave us 100% attention and patience. We will be returning again, and I can guarantee you will too!

What a nice restaurant, a perfect place for a date night dinner!

Gregorio’s is located across the street from the Wyandotte Henry Ford Hospital in what seems to have been a two-story residential building. You enter the restaurant from the front door which is along Biddle street.

There is a breezeway double-door setup that you have to walk through to enter, and then there is a small bar with a couple of stools. After a brief wait, the hostess escorted us to our seats. We were fortunate to get a table in the front window of the dining room, so we had a pleasant view of Biddle and the entire restaurant.

The tables are covered in dark burgundy table cloths under a glass covering. Interestingly the menu is under glass, one facing each seat around the table.

We started with a glass of House Chianti for me and a Lemoncello Martini for my wife, both were excellent!

Because we were ordering entrees, they brought out a bread basket and herbed oil for dipping. The bread was a delicious Italian loaf, hand-cut and warm, and the oil was fresh and tasty. Sometimes you get an older EVOO that tastes “old” from being oxidized.

We couldn’t decide on appetizers. We both thought the fried Ravioli and Fried Broccoli sounded good, so we ordered one of each!

The ravioli were filled with cheese, seemed to be ricotta, and came with a dish of warm marinara for dipping. They were “OK” but seemed like they were missing some flavor. With the sauce, it reminded me of having a bite of lasagne with lots of ricotta cheese.

The Broccoli were the most disappointing dish. They are pre-formed breaded broccoli “McNugget” florette shapes filled with a chopped broccoli and cheese sauce. They came with a dish of a “zip sauce.” The sauce didn’t seem to go with it.

Our entrees were excellent! I had the Chicken Marsala, which is the dish that I use to measure Italian restaurants. If they can’t get this simple dish right, I have little hope that any of the other meals will be worth sampling. The chicken was cooked perfectly, meaning it was pounded thin, lightly floured, and fried in butter with a slight crust. I asked for extra Marsala “sauce” to ensure there was enough to dip every bite.

It came with steamed and seasoned veggies; cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli.

I also got a small side of pasta in a marinara sauce, which was delicious. I especially liked the sauce!

My wife had the Butternut Squash Ravioli, and let me tell you if you are ever in the area you have to stop in and get an order for yourself. Even if you are a couple of hours away, you are close enough to make it worthwhile. It is that good. Seriously, no exaggeration!

Overall, I will come back again. The service was excellent, as were the entrees. Oh, and the wine and cocktails!

My boyfriend and I attended here last night and it was amazing! The food was delicious and fast. The dressings for the salad are divine! The beer and wine selection is great as well. Definitely recommend for a family gathering. The staff are so sweet and very welcoming. Willing to help even if it’s not their table! 20+% tip is recommended for the exponential service and food!! Definitely will be returning soon!

Delicious, authentic Italian in the perfect atmosphere!
We came to this restaurant with low expectations- mediocre, Americanized Italian, like we've found at other local restaurants. We were so pleasantly surprised!
All authentic, homemade dishes. My special of the day and my man friend's eggplant parmesan couldn't have been better. Real marinara sauce, rich cream sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, homemade house dressing, impeccable.
The atmosphere and staff couldn't have been better. This small, family owned & operated restaurant is like being welcomed into the family's dining room. A train travels overhead, soft music, ambient lighting, our table by the window was quite a romantic setting with Tiffany lighting, beautiful decor, and vintage pieces everywhere.
Our server was wonderful and friendly. Imagine my surprise when I found out our kind hostess and busser was the owner! She gave us history on the restaurant, the recipes, and her family.
I'm a server, and this is what excellent customer service looks like.
Come here for the food, enjoy the experience while you're there. We intend to return and get more dishes from the menu.

Epic Italian!
You can find more expensive, fancier Italian food out there but, if you're looking for authentic, truly authentic Italian family cuisine this is your spot! You could drop Gregorio's on the Tuscan coast, and it would fit right in. Lots of places are Italian and some are good but Gregorios is exactly what you would get if you were in Italy. I had stuffed perch, and the wife had her favorite chicken marsala, I'll post some pictures. Gregorio's is exactly how Italians do dinner! BRAVO 👏

Fantastic meal and service. But the atmosphere is second to none. Plan ahead, this place is on the smaller side and fills up.

The Chicken Gregorio's, sautéed with mushrooms and shallots in a peppercorn sauce, is a flavor sensation. Their extensive menu offers diverse choices that cater to all tastes. The wine list perfectly complements the dishes. The home-cooking feeling combined with impeccable flavors makes dining here an unforgettable experience. A must-visit for those seeking exceptional Italian cuisine!

This place has the best Italian 👌 We frequent often and it's always great! The lasagna is my favorite and my boyfriend loves the spaghetti and meatballs 😋 I really look forward to the bread and oil with the meal. This place is 10 out of 10 in my opinion!

I visited this restaurant for the first time last weekend and was very satisfied with all the food. I got the chicken fettuccine alfredo and would very much recommend it to anyone. I like to call myself a ranch dressing connoisseur, and their homemade ranch is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be returning and will try the steak marsalla next.

Order the Chicken Gregorio... amazing! I can't believe we've been driving by this place for YEARS and never stopped in until today. What a great little place. Perfect spot for date night, too.

However the prices are very high ....
I would definitely try this place if you are considering a small intimate dining experience 😉

Gregorio's is an excellent Italian restaurant with great atmosphere. Having lived in Downriver only a few years, and partaking in the local Italian eateries, I have found that if it's not a pizza parlor then the people around here don't know good Italian food. Gregorio's food is excellent, it's pricey because it's well made. No it's not Fazolis or the Olive Garden, most of you will compare it to. Again, that's because for most of you, you believe those two restaurants serve Italian food. Sadly they do not. Experience some real Italian, go to Gregorio's order the chicken parm or chicken picata. Experience excellent sauce and excellent bread.

I've been here a few times It's a great date place. It's quite the food is very good I especially like the Veal Marsala . The service was excellent very friendly wait staff The owners are friendly The atmosphere is relaxing and not too fancy. Though it's a bit small In the hours could be longer, both for lunch and late night weekends, I love the style and the train that travels atop. I can't wait to go again Just need to find a date. Lol

Intimate Italian restaurant downriver from Detroit that entices me to return again and again because of their authentic Italian cuisine and personal service. Don't leave without sampling a shot of their house made, creamy limoncello. You'll be back. I guarantee it.

Three of us went for the first time last night to this extraordinary classic Italian restaurant. The ingredients were noticeably of the best quality, the selections numerous, the presentation of the dishes simply beautiful. Great service, charming atmosphere, fun little train circling the ceiling, background music pleasant but unobtrusive so you could actually hear each other talk. Even the flowers in front were stunning. Don’t miss the chance to go to this rare treasure
