Cafe Diem

Great breakfast at a good price point. Everything on the menu is done well. Crispy hash browns are hard to find, and are always done perfectly here. The breakfast sandwich comes on a homemade biscuit that sets it apart from other places. No frills, however, a friendly diner experience. Good for the whole family.

I ordered the steak breakfast and I have to say I usually don’t order steak from cafes because they’re usually not good quality but this steak is definitely the best I’ve had for a breakfast place. It was a great steak. Overall this dish was delicious and their customer service is beyond amazing. Will be back definitely recommend

First time here. Seated right away. Service was great. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and was very helpful. We started with a cinnamon roll that was large, warm and very delicious. My wife had the Maid-Rite special and said that it was good. I had the chicken club sandwich. Very good with large portion of chicken, slice of ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese and lots of bacon. Enjoyed the experience.

So excited to have found a 5 star breakfast option in Papillion! We appreciated being greeted when we arrived, the joy and excellent customer service, the variety of the menu and great food, the ease of payment and thank you extended by the owner and every employee we encountered on the way out the door! This restaurant deserves your patronage!

Went for breakfast this morning and ate so much I'm still full. Prices were in line with everywhere else we go. It was very good and the food came out quickly. Our waitress was very nice with a very personable attitude. She took the time to talk to us and make us feel at home. It was great, can't wait to go back and try the lunch selections.

Staff was so friendly and inviting. I ordered in person to go and took about 10 minutes. Had a super pleasant experience talking to the staff, you can tell they are passionate about the food and ingredients that go into the food. The food is on another level. You can tell time and thought was put into the food. I got the club sandwich and added pickles and hot peppers and it was delicious 10/10. I will probably get 3 meals out of it due to the size of the sandwich. I also got the tomato basil soup and it was a 10/10 for flavor and the texture was so good and filling, I got the larger size and wow I wish they had a quart size because I would buy it. Only down side on the soup sounds like they only have it sometimes (it was soup of the day). Can’t wait to try more items off the menu. So impressed, great service, atmosphere, ingredients, food and experience, I will be back and is a must visit if in the Omaha area!

This was my first time visiting Cafe Diem and I ordered a cinnamon roll and Eggs Benedict. Wow! Both were amazing!! I ended up getting another cinnamon roll to go. The service was absolutely fantastic as well and I look forward to returning.

There is absolutely n o t h i n g bad here. Food is soooo good, fresh, hot, amazing. I wish I had more pictures but we tore into it all so fast

This was our second visit to this cafe. We were impressed with the quality of the food today. The hash browns were cooked to perfection with crispy outsides and a creamy interior. I am very picky about my gravy and they met my high standards. The friendly service was a great addition to the experience as well.

We had heard a lot about Cafe Diem after moving to the neighborhood and finally checked it out this morning for breakfast. We got seated quickly with a warm greeting. The food was great! We will absolutely come back to try more!

Greeted by the owner, very friendly and bubbly! Sat at table immediately even while a busy Sunday morning. Server(Lori?) was excited to see us(our first visit) & expressed we need to come back and try every item on the menu. Coffee is very good and constantly being topped off. Food was fantastic and a very nice gluten-free menu available with rotella gluten-free bread! I had French toast with fresh fruit(blueberries were Huge!) And their homemade sausage patties(great flavor) my hubby had the "hangover" breakfast which is huge breakfast, need to be very hungry or split it! 😋 this is a highly recommended place for breakfast/ brunch/ lunch!!!

Stopped by Cafe Diem for the first time on a Sunday morning. When we arrived around 9:15, it was crowded, but didn't have a wait for our party of two to be seated. By 10:00, people were lined up inside the door. The wait staff was mostly young, but were really hustling to keep up with the morning rush, clearing tables immediately after diners departed. I had the Classic Breakfast, and my wife had Eggs Benedict - both were excellent, and the sausage was particularly good.

This place is great. The owner never stops working. We were there 45 mins he stopped by twice. The food was very good. Ordered it was brought to us in a very short time. Our waitress was awesome.

Regular this place. Awesome food. Good portions. Cost is fair. Servers are always friendly and polite. If you like Rubens, his might be the best in the Omaha area and I've had most places who serve this sandwich.

We have never been to Cafe Diem but we've heard good things so we decided to try. They were busy but we got a table for the 3 of us very quickly. The waitress was right on top of us getting our drink order, she gave us a few minutes to order . We had our food less then 10 minutes later. I ordered the The Hangover and all I could say WOW!!! I could only eat half of it. The food portion was crazy. The owner which I have never met Steve Jackson stopped by our table to ask how our meal was and how we were. He was very personable. We had some small talk and he was explaining that EVERYTHING is made from scratch. All of his menus were his own recipes. We the food was amazing, the service was spectacular. To the owner and the staff at Cafe Diem you guys knocked it out of the park. You have gained a customer as long as your opened. Thanks for the wonderful experience and the great food..

The BEST chicken fried steak I've had!
Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy but clean and we felt comfortable and welcomed.
Our food was amazing and we will be back for more!

This place is great! The owner is always walking around visiting with guests and happy to chat about anything. Great food and great prices! To me it has that ol diner experience of the old days in the 50s or 60s ambiance. I love coming here for lunch time. I would go for breakfast but then I would be worthless the rest of the day!

My friend and I went for brunch last Friday. We were seated immediately with a very friendly server. She gave great advice for what to order so I went with the biscuits and gravy. My friend chose the chicken fried chicken with fried eggs. My biscuits and gravy was delicious!! I tried my friends chicken and loved it as well. The sausage gravy wasn’t overloaded with sausage to my liking. The service was somewhat slow, but that was because they cooked our food upon ordering. Our food was hot, piled high, and delicious (yes, saying it again)!

French toast and hash browns were perfect. Gluten free menu. Excellent service, friendly staff, attentive to the small details. We’ll be back.

Food was amazing, owner was really nice to us on the way in and out of the cafe. Overall service was great, and would recommend going again!
