Trattoria Toscana

Me and my wife celebrated my 77th birthday tonight at Trattoria Toscana. I have always been critical of fake Italian restaurants like Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill. I wanted to eat authentic Italian Cuisine. Trattoria delivered. The Antipasto Misto for 2 set the stage. It had all of the classic Antipasto elements of meat, cheese, olives, anchovies, and tomatoes. It was better than I had hoped for (see photo)
We skipped the pasta (primi) and went straight to the main course (Secondi) . The strip steak was cooked to perfection and potatoes, squash and sautéed spinach were excellent. My wife had the chicken Francese. She said that this was also excellent. We finished the meal off with the almond cake and cappuccino. The dessert was fantastic.
This is a family run authentic Italian restaurant. If you have only eaten in chain restaurants you may have to remember that these people are serving you in what they feel is their home. It is a different experience. One that I am looking forward to repeating.

This is an interesting place, just kind of found it by googling Italian. You will feel like you are eating in someone's house. You will also feel like you are in an episode of sopranos. That can be a pro or con, you decide.
Pros: Food was great! Wine was affordable for a bottle
Cons: mild smell of cigarette smoke

We had a wonderful time last night at Trattoria Toscana. The food was amazing and the service to our group of ten people was fantastic! Thank you, Claudia, Rudy, Chico and the other lady whose name i cant remember. We'll certainly be back.

Food is delicious, lots of daily specials so don’t just look at menu online. We ordered 2 of the specials for our meals, and were very happy we did! Staff is very friendly, feels like family 🤌🏼 and a very intimate atmosphere, can’t wait to go back

I selected Trattoria Toscana based on google reviews. Arrived with a reservation for a table of 9 people. The entire restaurant was served by a single server, who I assume was the owner. Great food, decent service, and fantastic dessert. I would recommend giving it a try.

Terrific food. Surely the best Italian restaurant on the West side of Hudson. The owner is especially a kind person, reminding us how kind of a society we used to be.

We visited the restaurant during a recent work trip. This place is amazing, and we felt right at home. I loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The meal was outstanding and each dish we ordered was perfect. Thank you so much for the hospitality, the dinner was the highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to come back again.

The food was authentic Italian. Each bite was full of flavor and large servings.Family staffed the restaurant and were very personable. A cozy intimate space. I highly recommend the whole experience.

Holy freaking moly. Came here with a work crowd and immediately were taken not only with the charm of the restaurant, but with the personality and familial hospitality of Rudy and Claudia. We were ushered into their home, given a welcoming place to belong for a few hours, and on top of all of that, every dish we had (and we had quite a few!) was FANTASTIC.

Bottom line. If you’ve got a chance to come here, don’t hesitate. Do it. Like right now. You won’t regret it, guaranteed.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The Buratta appetizer is amazing. The entrees and desserts are delicious and the service is always good. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. Owner Rudy is as gruff and attentive as ever. People say he reminds them of their Italian Uncle. If he sweet it would mean he doesn't like yoy and is faking. Filet of sole was unbelievably moist & tasty. Tortellini always a winner.

My husband and I talk about Rudy's place all the time. It's been over 10 years since we've been there. We went weekly for dinner. Rudy celebrated our life as if we were family. New jobs, our first baby all of it. I highly recommend!

What an awesome experience for my son to meet the owner Rudy, his wife Claudia, and chef Giacomo which is Rudy's son. Great meal...and a wonderful trip down memory lane. Thanks for everything.

Original Italian Trattoria it reminded me of Santa Maria Novella in Firenze.
Food is high quality and prepared skillfully good selection of wines.

Excellent and authentic Tuscan food. Owner is a character! Been going there for several years now and will often will drive the 45 minutes just to have the food. Reservations are a must as it's a small place and gets pretty busy on a Saturday night. In my opinion the food at Toscana is better then il Cappricio, which is a stuffy Italian restaurant across the street.

Food is always fresh and homemade..
Claudia is terrific... The chef is top notch... You will enjoy yourself while having the best italian food in the area.

If you want authentic, this is authentic. Owner is straight from Italy. If you're not in the mood for authentic then go to Olive Garden.
