Fat Moose is a comic reader's comic shop. One of the last of a dying breed of true local comic shops that focuses on comics more than anything else. It's also one of the oldest, longest running shops in the area.

The owner Shawn is fun, entertaining and knowledgeable - and a skilled expert in helping customers find what they are looking for. Fat Moose is one of the best shops in the Morristown area and has unique content that you don't see in other shops. A great mix of pop culture, old and new comics and much more.

This isn't just a place to shop. It's a place you get to know and hang out in to talk with like-minded people who love comics as much as you do. This is an old-school comic shop, so no Pokemon or games here. Fat Moose is about comics, comic art and comic talk. Fat Moose is comic-centric. If that sounds good to you, then this is your shop! IMO, that is the critical attribute of a great old school comic shop.

Worth a visit for any comic shop aficionado that loves comic shop culture. Don't skip this excellent NJ comic shop. It different than the other shops - and that is what makes it interesting.

Exteremely friendly staff and great selection. Stopped in while visiting family in state and fell in love with the shop. This would be our LCS for sure if we lived in state! The staff could not have been more fun and inviting. Defintiely give this place a shot!

Like the cool basement you used to hangout in as a kid. An amazing time capsule that not only has a great selection of comics, but also captures the feeling of comic shops I grew up with. One of the best shops in Jersey if not the east coast, if you have the opportunity definitely check it out!

One thing you should know about me to understand my review: I do approximately 50 push-ups a day. I also like to show off my toned physique as much as possible. The other day I decided to bike 8 miles to the shop in the sweltering heat. I don’t care that swear was glistening off of my arms, which I call “thunder” and “lightning”. When I got to the shop I made sure double park before going in. I was stopped though and told by the scroungy looking guy at the counter I needed a shirt. I was upset at first but while getting a shirt from the dry cleaners downstairs i thought about it for a minute. Why do I insist on being shirtless ? Was it childhood trauma, narcissism ? I went back into the store but ok my way home with my new used shirt I did some serious soul searching. In now determined to be a better person - all because of this comic book shop. Ty FM for enriching me.

Recently got into comics and graphic novels and this place has been a slice of heaven. The owner Sean is awesome and extremely friendly. Its hard leaving the store!!

The best comic book shop I’ve been to. Really friendly sales people, great atmosphere, and reasonable pricing. I can’t recommend this place enough, definitely worth the visit.

I have been to this store a few times; before the new owner and after. I am very impressed with the new look and the vibe of the place now. Shawn and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. I will definitely be going back and recommending Fat Moose to others.

I love this place. I've been shopping at this place since I was a kid. The current staff are extremely friendly. The owner Shawn is a great guy. Justin is a good guys too. It's just a great atmosphere all around. If you love comics, this place is for you. Great job guys!

I must say this is by far the best comic shop I've been to in North Jersey. The owner is knowledgable, helpful, and super friendly. Every time I go in, he recommends books for me to buy, which are always exactly what I am interested in. I don't really get that anywhere else. Along with a cool atmosphere and a great selection of books, Fat Moose is the place to go to get your comics/collectibles, and maybe even a laugh or two. 👍🏽

This shop is one of the best memories I have of living in Whippany for 11 years. They treat you like family, and their selection is second to none. It always reminded me of the classic comic shops in NYC. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helps you select books based on your interests, rather than just trying to oversell as much as he can. Really miss hanging out at this shop, and I can’t wait to stop in when I’m back in town.

This is old school comic royalty in the area with an owner who continuously works to make the store better and take care of his customers. Always greeted with a smile, always friendly and always willing to try to help out with your collection. If you want a shop where the owners still read the books, enjoys chatting about the stories and will go the extra mile then I highly recommend Shawn and team!

Fat Moose is a great comic book shop that I have been frequenting for over thirty years. The newest owner, Shawn, has put a lot effort into improving the shop and it shows. He is knowledgeable and has good recommendations. Come out and visit. The new comics are out on Wednesdays.

Sean is a great guy and has tons of indie titles that you can enjoy and the other guys who work here are very friendly too. Moreover, cover variants are usually priced fairly ($20 vs $35 1:35 variants). This place would make you feel like you can hang out and talk with everybody. Its above a dry cleaning place so park your car in and go to the back entrance. Overall, if it wasn't farther away from my place, this would've been my weekly wednesday trip. I would still sometimes go though, just for the fun of it.

I haven't been in a comic book store in awhile. The selection was good, but what really shined was the owner. He was knowledgable and even more passionate and good natured. There was a teen going through boxes organizing while he looked through them, at the end, his dad was going to purchase the selection but the owner wouldn't have it, stating the kid helped him with the organizing and wanted him to learn that time is valuable. That spoke volumes for me.

As a box holder at Fat Moose for 20 years now (howly cow) I can confidently say Fat Moose Comics is the best comic book store in the area. If I had to pinpoint the best attributes of this store I would say: Loyalty and friendliness. As a box older, I have never had an issue securing the comics and collectibles I want - I just give the always friendly and attentive owner or clerk a heads up and its there when it comes out. I applaud the owner for rolling with the punches in the wake of everything from state shutdowns, UPS issues, and oh yea a global pandemic. Fat Moose also has a great selection of wall books that has flowed in and out of the shop over the past couple of years. I have purchased the majority of my keys from this very shop including: X-Men 1, Giant Sized X-Men 1, Amazing Spider-Man 300, and Fantastic Four 48 - just to name a few. On my most recent visit I picked up a copy of Sub-Mariner 13 - the first appearance of naga - who is rumored to appear in the next Black Panther film. All in all, I love this store so much and I am happy to see the shop thriving ! If you are a comic book fan or collector stop in you won’t be disappointed

A really great shop. Fantastic selection of books, and collectables. You'll find a favorite of yours here. I went here for Free Comic Book day a few times, and had a pretty good time. One if the other times I came here, there was little setup with Neil Gaiman books, and bought "Death". I left happy. The employees are also very nice, and the store itself has a nice, relaxing aura.
