Fontenelle Forest

Fontanelle Forest is one of my favorite places. I come here on a regular basis to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to get some exercise in. The boardwalk and trails are well maintained, there is wildlife everywhere, and beautiful scenery.

This is probably the best area to walk in bellevue. The place is free, almost never crowded, and BEAUTIFUL! Its nice on any day, as there is plenty of shade and breeze. The view into iowa is also incredible. There are some beautiful homes worth looking at in the area as well. Enjoy it! 5 stars.

Customer service was second to none. Literally every single person we talked to was patient and happy and so so kind. (This was at the winter wonderland kick off so we talked to a lot of employees). The boardwalk is maintained so well and my kids had a great time. I'm so glad I decided to get a pass because we will be back.

It was an wonderful experience to spend time here. We couldn't explore one-fourth of the trails, the area is huge! Loved the green view everywhere and riverside view was just awesome. People were enjoying tree rush adventure. It's for next time.

The Fontenelle Forest was an awesome experience. We were only there for an hour, and we're not able to explore even a fraction of the trails. We would like to return and try the TreeRush Adventure, which looks like a lot of fun. There is handicapped parking right by the entrance. The parking lot right at the entrance is a bit small and was full when we left. The restrooms were clean. The staff was very nice and the gift shop has a nice selection of items.

Gorgeous way to spend an afternoon. Hot but luckily tree covered. The raptor exhibit is amazing. Such beautiful creatures. If I wasn't old and falling apart, the zip line park looked super fun!

Fantastic views on a wonderful boardwalk. The forest is fun just to walk. But if you are feeling adventurous, the Tree Rush is a great time too!

Wonderful way to spend Earth Day. You pay when you walk at the front desk. Miriam at the front desk was so kind and helpful she explained the maps to us letting us know which areas where more hilly.

You are able to choose what paths to take. We walked around for about 1 hour and boy we were tired! we came back and finished in the Raptor Woodland Refuge. Fun experience!

Memberships aren't overpriced. Trails for days!

Absolutely incredible! Miles and miles of well maintained trails as well as a raptor sanctuary. Activities for kids and adults alike including a rope/climbing/Zipline course. We were able to enjoy it in perfect Summer weather during our recent trip to the Omaha area. Active Duty military receives free entry during Summer. Will definitely be back!

Such a peaceful place for a walk and experiencing nature at its finest tons of wildlife from birds to squirrels and deer it is very clean and well maintained perfect for the entire family or a solo trip ..to just get away from city life for awhile. Plenty of paths and trails and great views of the river

We were visiting Omaha for my daughter's wedding and were looking for a place for a Sunday morning hike and I am so glad that Fontenelle showed up on my list of choices. It a beautiful place and I can see us becoming members since we will be visiting the area often. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful forest! Our family loved hiking here. The trails were very well marked and easy to follow using the provided maps. We saw lots of wildlife on our hike including turkey and deer. The forest is so big that we were often alone on the trail which was nice for our big group. The nature center and play areas were great for the kids. Don't forget to stop at the Raptor Recovery Center while you're there.

Amazing boardwalk experience and hiking on trails. Enjoyable walk between long trees and dense forest, perfect place to spend time with your loved ones, highly recommend in summer to nature lovers, bird watchers. They have got some rope activities by Tree Rush Adventures, I did not get to go on myself but it seems an exciting adventure. It s worth spending your time and money at Fontenelle Forest:)

Fontenelle is such a perfect place to escape. Watching my daughter explore, hike trails, play in nature, learn to do the ropes course, see the raptors up close, it's all a win- win. We get fresh air and exercise.
Even if every parking spot is full, the park is large enough you don't feel crowded. There are a few dirt(and rock) trails I'm able to take the stroller, otherwise the boardwalk through the forest is perfect for both my 1yo and 5yo.
Also, absolutely cannot beat $70 for a family membership! We've already gone 3 times in 2 weeks! Pays for itself! The employees are all super helpful and kind as well.
If you've never been, it's time for you to go! Even without kids, you can do the adult rope course, or just go explore. You'll be glad you did!

At first the price kinda put me off. After going it was definitely worth the price tho. Trails we're well maintained and marked. They have trails for anybody. Boardwalk was a nice easy stroll. Nice interactive play area for the kids. We didn't get to walk all the trails, but the ones we did were beautiful. Lots of song birds. We also seen a deer and a turkey with her babies on the trail.

After being in Omaha for many years (having grown up in the Appalachian Mountains) I finally joined Fontenelle Forest to get some nature therapy. I never knew how nice a forest was hiding close by in Bellevue. The boardwalk is definitely a good way to enjoy nature if you have mobility issues and it is expansive. I was headed for the back woods to get some distance from civilization and was not disappointed. I was lucky enough to see 4 groups of wild turkey and more types of bird than I could identify. The forest was alive with wildlife and wildflowers. I saw deer sign and a large group of some type of bird of prey enjoying a thermal over a ridge. The forest was mostly quiet with, except for birdsong and the occasional plane from Eppley Airfield. Got some good views of the Missouri River and a glimpse of downtown Omaha. The nature center was nice and the art gallery there had some interesting treasures. I can't wait to visit again soon.

Oh my gosh this place is gorgeous. Absolutely worth the price of entry for the trails alone. They are very well marked and well maintained. Prepare for some up and down hills as it can be strenuous at times. It's so pretty though and I would love to go back.

We had a blast exploring. The boardwalk trail is great for a quick and easy walk. I love how many other trail options there are. We saw deer and lots of birds and squirrels
