Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront

Whether you’re a child or an adult who wants to get away from the city within the city, there is so much to do for everyone! There’s a playground, amphitheater, river walk, bridge, skate rink, hammocks, walk around a lake, and more! Right in the beautiful downtown Omaha near old market with another wide range of things to do! Every time I’m downtown I always make it a point to walk around this area. There’s also a vast number of seating throughout the whole area. I show this place to all of my friends and family and would highly recommend it for ANYONE living or visiting Omaha!!

The skate ribbon here is a great way to spend the afternoon when it's nice out. Also a good place to go for a short walk. Looking forward to seeing how they will utilize the new space with the stage.

This place is BEAUTIFUL and popping with people just enjoying the outdoors! The lakes are beautiful (and have wood ducks!), the art is nice, and it's very clean for how many people were there!

In the old photographs the water canal was still there. But when we got there, there was a wonderful children's park there. We really enjoyed it and had a great time. I recommend visiting this park when you visit Omaha.

The Riverfront Park and Gene Leahy Mall is beyond your expectations. You literally need to experience this with your own eyes to grasp what awaits you. From dog parks to roller skate rinks. To fire pit picnic spaces to private clean restrooms. The Big slides at the mall and the Rocket ship slides at the river front are nostalgia and adult friendly.
Well lit and security safe, this family fun action pack inner city park is where it's happening for concerts, yoga, church services, employment fairs and art expos. Get the kids and grab the dog.

What a beautiful job they did creating this area. They thought of everything. Fire pits, children’s playgrounds, amazing vistas, great walking and jogging trails, relaxing spaces, hammocks, roller skating, easy to park and close to downtown that has many great shops and restaurants! Highly recommend!

This spot is ideal for both leisurely moments and exercise. Enjoy beautiful views along with dedicated areas for both dogs and children to play. Additionally, there's a skating area available.

Incredibly modern and beautifully redone! What fun play structures for the kids with swings, climbing, slides, mesh netting and more. Super fun dog park, water play area, and even swinging benches and ping pong and hammocks for the older kids / adults :) Nice art installations as well. You’ll love it!

The Gene Leahy Mall at Riverfront Park in Omaha, Nebraska, is an urban oasis that offers a delightful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. This park is a true gem, and I was thoroughly impressed during my visit.

Love this park! The dog park is great, we appreciate that there is a small dog section and a large dog section. It's also great to walk around, wide sidewalks with lots of intersecting paths with hammocks and fire pits. Lots of water fountains, and some with water bottle filling spouts and in the dog park there is a dog level drinking fountain! The swinging benches are nice to relax on too, lots to see and enjoy.

5 metal slides. Bring a blanket on hot days. Some people bring wax paper for speed! Its right next to a lil splash pad. It has plenty of shaded seating. Right next to the slides is a park. Great for kids. Lots of climbing structures and it's fensed. They have nice bathrooms and a drinking fountain.

First time visiting Omaha, did not expect such fun and beautiful pubic park. Looking forward to my next visit!

What an awesome park. My kids loved exploring the different areas of this park/playground. I love how it's incorporated into downtown yet doesn't feel out of place. I wish my city had something like this

We have been coming to Gene Leahy for years and there is no doubt that the renovations are a massive upgrade. It's a beautiful park with so much space and so many cool features. The old slides are still there plus some new ones. They added really cool new water features too. It's a much brighter and more beautiful park than it was before

At the playground there are swings and slides but it's definitely different than a normal playground and a lot of fun. There is lots of room to run around for little kids. There are tunnels to crawl through and endless things to climb on too. And if you leave the playground area you can go over to the big slides and the water features. It's a really fun park my kids loved it

Gene Leahy Mall is a modern, beautiful place to take a walk with great views of Omaha. There’s luscious greenery, water spray areas, slides, a dog park, unique looking playground areas, open space, and beautiful ponds. It’s right by the downtown and the waterfront, so it’s easily accessible and has some great views. There’s plenty of activities for children to enjoy here. The design and architecture looks very new and fresh. It’s a fun experience overall and something I would recommend when visiting Omaha.

Omaha is currently revitalising their riverfront areas. This park was the first to finish (riverfront areas were inaccessible). On our short visit, it looks like it's a big success. The park was bustling with activity with lots of people enjoying what the park had to offer. There were large play structures with slides, nets and climbing walls. Fields where people were playing soccer. Ping pong tables with rackets/balls for anyone to use. Some slides that are apparently iconic for the city. A nice pond to walk by (it seems you can boat here too, but not on that day). A small dog park for the four legged visitors. There were also some food carts and trucks at certain areas. We had to park quite a distance away though, but maybe that's because of our lack of familiarity with the area. Hopefully we can return someday to see the other areas after work there is completed.

Great place to go on a walk, take the kids and dogs, have kids swim in the water fountain, roll down the grass hill, slide on wax paper down metal slides, play on the playground, relax, listen to concerts.
Cons: parking may be tough on busy days, lots of people on weekends.

Wonderful place to take your kids during the day. Would suggest not being there past dark as I hear they have issues there after dark. Hence, the armed security in the evenings.

The new look is amazing! It is very well organized and very comfortable to visit. There's plenty of places to park, and it's near several eating establishments. It's definitely a place to visit.

I personally love this park . It’s nice and open and modern. There’s lots of places to sit. And the kids area is fully fenced off just not the opening to get in. It’s definitely got a lot of areas that involve climbing and gets out a lot of energy for kids. The bathrooms in the kids area are also pretty nice as well. Wasn’t cold to us at least and had a changing table it’s turf for grass and it’s definitely a spot to go to if you have kids that have a lot of energy for a long time.
