Stopped in here for the famous lobster roll. Roll is hot and comes with fries. The fries were very good and the sandwich even better. The roll is priced at market rate, so be prepared. Highly recommend the roll. Cannot speak to the other food but the service was polite and fast. Quite happy. If I am ever back this way, I will definitely stop in again.

Food here is excellent and fresh! The seafood platter we got is one of the best I have ever eaten! The cod is thick and fresh. The whole belly clams are fresh and do not have the fishy taste. The scallops i think the sliced half but the taste and texture is on point. The only thing is that they are not flexible with the menu. We initially didnt want the clams and wanted to swicth out for another fish but they said everything has been portioned so no changes can be made. But come on, you just need to tell the kitchen. This place is very popular. They even have a line during odd hours like 4.30pm in the Summer

Fish and chips are always great here. There are plenty of other great menu items also. Although prime times can get busy. The addition of the ajoined market makes for a fresh from the sea experience. If you love seafood, this is certainly a great and affordable option.

If you're looking for a packed lobster roll, this is the place! We got the calamari, fried clams and the Portuguese fish chowder and the lobster roll. Topped it all off with a Narragansett! Portuguese soup was the clear winner of the 3 soups on the menu. Definitely stop by this place if you're in the area!

A wonderful find for my family. We really enjoyed all the seafood. Lobster rolls were full of lobster and not overly coated in sauce. The fresh scallops and calamari in particular were a hit. Fish (cod) and chips and fried shrimp were also fantastic and very fresh. The fish bisque was preferred over the clam chowder. Would love to return one day.

Amazing New England Clam Chowder that you can take to go or to stay. We also ordered fried seas scallops and grilled salmon burger. They served it quickly and it was fresh and delicious. You order first and then sit down, but they bring food to the table and clean after you. Good place for a family lunch with a fresh sea food. You can also buy all sorts of fish and sea products at their market.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. We ate outside on the benches. No picture of the clam chowder because it disappeared too quickly. Scallops, fried shrimp, mashed potatoes and onion rings. All great!

Are you wanting a lobster roll? Then Anthony’s Anthony's Seafood is the place you want to go!! They have the freshest seafood at a fair price. Also, Anthony's sells fresh fish to go. Enjoy eating inside or out on the patio.

The staff was extremely friendly and the service was fast. I highly recommend stopping at Anthony's for a meal.

Dropped by on my way to Newport from Boston. The place was conveniently located along the route, so we came by to check out their fish and chips and the Rhode Island chowder. Everything seemed basic, but they were still delicious and were made with the freshest ingredients possible. They had some local hot sauce on the table which was weirdly addictive, and we enjoyed dipping the fish and chips in the sauce. The chowder was also a nice surprise, and I liked the clear broth which had a strong onion flavor that nicely complemented the clam bits in it.
Definitely recommend trying them out for a quick bite.

Kung Pao calamari was delicious!! It was perfectly cooked, light and crispy breading with sweet chili sauce, peanuts, and hot peppers! It was featured on Guy Fieri’s show DDD on Food-Network! This was one of the best calamari appetizers I’ve ever had! The lobster roll was also delicious and stuffed with fresh lobster in a buttered and toasted hotdog bun!

There are many seafood options in and around the Newport/Middletown area. But as with most tourist-driven towns, it can be difficult to decide which are actually good and which are tourist traps.

We were staying in the Middletown area and had NOT had our seafood fix yet. We knew many popularly reviewed places were back toward the Wharf and did not care to drive in that direction only to drive back (probably hitting traffic both ways). I was glad I googled the area and was able to find Anthony’s. It was only about 5 minutes or so from our hotel and they closed at 8 pm on a Friday. I arrived there at about 7 PM ish to grab some take out to bring back to the hotel.

The parking lot seemed on the fuller side, but there were still spaces available. I would imagine Friday night would be one of their busier nights. There are some tables and seating outdoor in front of the space. You enter into the seafood market, which was already closed at that time. The market was big and seemed to have (from their price lists and signs) lot of options. You then wait in line (of there is one at the time) for your turn to order. Once you reach the counter, you order whatever you want. They have a variety of seafood items: shrimp, fish, scallops, clam strips, lobster rolls..etc...as well as a variety of beverage (alcoholic and non). Once you order, they will give you a number. You then take that number and sit where you want. You can stay there and eat at an empty table, or take it to go. There are some benches where you can sit and wait for your food but also a few tables around including a separate room, off to the side, with tables and seating. After about 10-15 minutes or so, my food was ready. They currently have a small table off to the side with plastic utensils, straws and napkins.

The family was pleasantly surprised when I brought the food back to the hotel...everything was super fresh and tasted great. Perfectly fried, not overdone and well seasoned. I want to mention that all staff there were very efficient. They were hustling to get things done, all while being friendly and patient with customers, which can sometimes be hard to balance. The prices also seemed to be very reasonable compared to other seafood places in the area. I would love to return when the market is opened to get a few things to take home to cook. I highly recommend Anthony for any seafood lover...don't be fooled by the other surrounding tourist traps! Anthony's is the real deal!

Friends who live on the island recommended this place. It was amazing! We wanted to eat quickly so we ordered at the take out bar and ate outside. There's also an option to eat inside and be waited on. The New England clam chowder was awesome! And the clam cakes are a must with it. We also ordered the fish tacos which was good as well. We will definitely be coming back here again!

From the road you'd never know it was a eatery; only a sign out on the street with nothing on the building. It's a fish market as well as take out and eat in. It was fast & efficient with a friendly staff. Every item we ordered was delicious; from the NE Clam Chowder (perfectly seasoned, lots of clams) & Steamers to the Fried Clams Platter (alot of food) and homemade coleslaw. But the piesta-resistance was my home made Grilled Salmon Fish Taco's with Mango/Pineapple Salsa on a soft, warmed flour shell...so damn good. The salmon was perfectly cooked.
This place is not much to look at so get over that now. It's very casual with about 20 self serve tables. Food is ordered with the cashier, pick your drink, pay, take your tray with a number to a table; the food is then delivered to you. It's fast, efficient and awesome. Enjoy!! We sure did and will definitely be back. 👍👍👍👍👍

A local place with fantastic food. The clam chower was amazing. I've never had that many clams in restaurant chowder! I had the salmon tacos with a mango, pineapple salsa, so good. It had a nice sized chunk of salmon on both tacos. My husband had a lobster roll. Both were really good! Stick with the local shops. They know their seafood!

Small spot with delicious food. Had the lobster roll with fries and kung pow calamari. It was good but the taste becomes overwhelming (not a bad thing). One side is the restaurant and the other side you can order raw fresh seafood to go. It's a cool spot to grab food to go not a fancy sit down resturant.

We got there late on a Sunday nite, quickly figured out how to order from the cashier and grabbed a table. Had a whole lobster, salmon burger and fried shrimp. Everything was really good. Nice beer selection and staff were all very friendly even though we were the last table of the night.

By far the best fish chips I've ever had. We also had the fish tacos and they were great as well. The batter the fish is cooked in is just right.

Food was amazing! Great lobster roll and fish and chips. Nothing fancy but the staff is very nice. If you don’t care about simple settings and want great food, it’s the place to go to!

We picked up a couple of lobster rolls and a spicy stuffy, and were quite surprised at how good the stuffy was! Unlike any I've ever had before, with a very nice piquant flavor somewhat like sweet cherry pepper, and the texture of the stuffing was exactly what you'd want. You can easily identify the chunks of clam and sausage, and bits of pepper. There was a hot pepper on top too, although it was difficult to see from the picture. All in all, I was very satisfied, and my fiancee normally doesn't eat fries but couldn't resist the ones they serve with the lobster rolls. Quite nice overall, high expectations were matched with what they delivered!
