Been her since 2005. I miss the towels, but they have great classes!

I was visiting the pool today and was scared to get into the water, Louis the lifeguard comforted me and serenaded me with a lullaby, while he held me in the water. He then proceeded to baptize me in the name of the YMCA while singing the song and doing the dance. It was a beautiful and ceremonious ritual, and brought tears to my eyes. This was a 10/10 experience and worth the money. I will come again.

I’ve been to YMCAs all across the country and this one is by far the best one I’ve been to. Let me start off by saying the basketball court is only used for basketball which is something I love. Other Ys will have karate and day care and use the court to where it seems it’s never available. The equipment is all up to date and clean. The facility is large and has an amazing variety of equipment so you’ll never have to be in line for a machine, bench or rack. The staff are friendly and it’s overall an excellent gym! I’ll drive from Newport News to work out here that’s how much I’m satisfied with this gym!

I've been going here 3 yrs, and I love it. I've tried every class from yoga to kickboxing. I've tried racket ball and basketball!! Whew! From sauna to steam room to hot tub to pool everyday I can find something different.
I feel confident leaving my kids because the childcare area has an open view of anyone walking in the hall.
Plenty of staff yet i can have a peaceful time and enjoy myself
P.S. they also have a kids Zumba now(so cute)

Large gym with many different rooms specific for what you want to work on. Steam room and sauna in the locker rooms and a good sized pool. They also have a basketball court, racquetball courts, classrooms, etc. There are rooms that I've only just discovered and I've been going here for years!

This is hands-down my favorite ymca is always spotless and fresh the staff are always friendly and enouraging all state of the art equipment upper & lower level gyms to work out pools , hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms you name it they got here. Love coming here ang the trainer Taylir has the best attitude very encouraging

There are no perfect gyms or humans (whether staff or members). If we look closer & longer, we can find fault anywhere or in anyone (including ourselves). In my opinion, this gym was a major factor for my weight loss of 45lbs at age 51. My choice of classes included Zumba, BoxMaster, MixxedFit, Tabata, H.I.I.T, Cycling, Water Zumba, Stretching, Fusion, Yoga, Bootcamp. These classes were often filled with members (POPULAR!). I never shared this with the instructors, but they give phenomenal classes, that motivated and challenged me to fight for my goal to START losing weigh for improved health. My take away: I had NO more excuses for quitting or not goin ALL IN. I have only been a spectator of personal training, however, these group classes made me feel like I was receiving personal training, and to maybe consider it to reach and maintain my final weight loss goal. This Y offers a variety of classes with passionate instructors that gives GREAT workouts that keeps my body guessing "What's Next?" Oh by the way, what other local Y has towels, a chapel, powerful coffee, many dressing rooms, including individual family dressing rooms, steam room and Jacuzzi all in 1 gym? And this Y is constantly remodeling and has plenty of updated work-out equipment.

Large facility and very friendly staff. Lots of options for many types of exercise. Equipment is well-maintained. Large, clean locker rooms with towel service. Family programs, as well.

Always beautiful, especially in the warmer months. Usually a wonderful spot for sunsets. Lately there have been a bunch of PokémonGo folks... unfortunately.

My husband and I use these facilities for therapeutic purposes to help mitigate chronic pain.
I would like to thank everyone for the changes that they have made to accommodate members during this difficult time.

Just left my 16 yr old off to a cpr first aid class for lifeguard program looks great first time in Norfolk since I’m from Virginia Beach hope he doesn’t passes

Friendly staff, especially the ladies in the child care area. Largest Y I've been to, yet, and plenty of new equipment. Love it here!

This is the best place to go to excersise and meet likeminded people. Everyone is welcoming and friendly.
