Fish & Slips Marina Raw Bar & Grill

A friend suggested we try this place and it did not disappoint. Harrison and Hannah were both very friendly and made excellent suggestions on menu items. We started with happy hour oysters and crab dip to go with our drinks. I ended up ordering the tuna dinner while my friends ordered the crabasaurus rex and fried flounder tacos. The food was delicious and I will definitely be coming back to try something new on the menu.

Great service food and staff. Management is awesome as well, she keeps up with local events and participates in our community. View is second to none in Portsmouth. It’s a short cold walk down the dock and worth it! They do add gratuity but they make sure you know it and its noticeable on your check. You can always add additional tip as they provide a line for that. Get yourself here and try something g on the Restaurant week menu!

Was great sorry I don't have all the pictures of my food it smelled so good I ate it b4 I could take the pictures 🤦🏽‍♀🤤🤤. Servers are amazing they make sure you are good your entire time there they are removing any trash or dishes out of ur way.

Stopped by for lunch and had some awesome fajitas. They have a great lunch menu and the atmosphere is awesome. It’s great being able to dine on the marina and enjoy all of the boats around. The tip is included in the bill which is 18%. I don’t see an issue with it as my service was fantastic. I would certainly go back.

Good food, and good service. The prime rib and tuna dishes were delicious and all 3 of my children from teenager to toddler all loved their shrimps and fries. Their dessert was a nice treat. Thank you Jessica the manager, Kaleigh and Melody, both good waitresses, and the rest of the staffs were friendly and kind. If you are near downtown Portsmouth, this is a pretty good seafood restaurant with nice views while dinning with family and friends.

First time visiting this place. Made about a 15 minute walk from green street and high street to get here. Did not experience the main dining room, but the deck area/bar is nice! The views are great, the service is impeccable, and the food is good! Our bartender, Ashleigh, was knowledgeable, kind, and prompt. I went with two friends, so we ate off of the happy hour menu (photos attached), so we ordered multiple items. We had steamed clams, a side of fried oysters, wings (barbecue and old bay), steamed shrimp, and tuna bites. They all were great! Haven’t tried the main dining menu, but if it’s anything close to the happy hour menu, they are certified! Don’t mind the wing photos, we already started eating them. 😂

The young lady waiting tables in the bar area was fantastic. Fried clams were excellent as was the cole slaw. More fries than I could finish. Crab dip and pita chips were outstanding.

Had a late lunch / early dinner after a boat ride. Everything we tried was tasty, portions were plentiful, many options to choose from. We recommend the crab cakes, corn crab chowder, crabby burger and the flounder tacos. Service was fantastic!! Waitress (Alleah?) was attentive and friendly all throughout the meal. A+++

Nice spot to get your seafood grub on. The views are amazing. For those with disabilities; please note there is a bit of a walk and there are steps to conquer, to gain access. Parking is ample and is free.
The prices are great and portion size is perfect! There are lunch specials. I have tried this spot a few times and I have to say, the dinner kitchen crew makes the better tasting orders, but lunch was still okay. I definitely will go back at night!

Aaliyah was amazing. Me and my wife have eaten at probably every big, small, mom and pop, chain, you name it sort of restaurant from here to Richmond. And she was by far the best server we’ve ever had. She didn’t take forever explaining the menu and specials but made sure we knew what it was. Made sure our food was good and cooked to temp. And was always on top of it. For sure coming back and asking for her.

Food was awesome & service from the waitress was as well. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items & refilled drinks without requesting. I WILL be coming more often!

We decided not to do traditional dinner since it was just the two of us. We did appetizers for dinner to share. The oyster Rockefellers with crab was to die for, the blackened tuna bites were perfectly seasoned for us, not overly seasoned like you get in some places that hide the taste of the fresh tuna, the crab balls, were just full of crab meat, the crab dip was delicious and cooked fresh. Everything was amazing including the sunset on the Elizabeth river.

Went to Fish N Slips on Wednesday for the crab stuffed special. This is my girlfriends favorite. This time I got the marinated steak with mushrooms. Lia, my server, recommended the house steak sauce and I took her advice since she liked her steak like I do. I asked for Medium Rare, more rare. It came out perfect. Seared outside, warm and reddish pink on the inside. Matched with the house sauce, it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were real and the sautéed veggies wer perfect. I ended up cleaning my plate. Carlos is the chef and Jessica is the manager. They ran a great show last night, saw them fix a problem with another customers steak with such ease, it was incredible. Top notch service, top notch food, top notch place to eat!!

The Food! The atmosphere! The service! Everything was top tier! Fresh entrees seasoned to perfection. Our server, Aleah (sp) was so attentive and helpful with the menu and recommended several tasty options. The view from the restaurant was amazing! We were able to witness a Carnival Cruise ship board and head out to sea while we enjoyed our dinner. We dined on Crabby Burgers, Shrimp Dinners, Shrimp Po Boys, crab dip, and chicken wings and each entree was fabulous. Moderately priced, 18% gratuity included as well as other small fees, but it was worth the experience. Side note, you will have to access a floating pier to get to this restaurant on the dock so wear sensible shoes. Enjoy!

Amazing food and drink and everyone working was so friendly

The food and staff were excellent! We went there for lunch after spending time walking downtown and we were really happy to find out they had an all day happy hour. We ordered a dozen wings and oysters to start with. The wings were delicious but the oyster were mediocre, they had live baby crabs inside them. We did order spicy bloody Marys and they were on point.

You can't go wrong when you choose Marina Raw Bar & Grill. My vote is 10.

I had the flounder po boy. It was very fulfilling and fresh. Also had 1/2 dozen oysters and they were fresh as well. Great staff very friendly. They do charge a service fee at 18% so don't be alarmed. Overall great experience and I'll be back.
