Uptown Cafe and Catering

Decided to find a mom and pop breakfast place. A quick google pointed us to Uptown Cafe. What a great choice. The atmosphere is homie and the service was great. We ordered and the food came out quickly, hot and delicious. This is a cafe that I will come back to when I’m in Tallahassee. The smoked salmon hash was excellent and so was the John Cash omelette.

Phenomenal service for our party of 18! The food came out surprisingly quick for a party our size, which they accommodated incredibly well. They were super kind with us showing up close to closing time too. I ordered a make your own bowl, which was more food than I could polish off. The mancakes and French toast looked incredible! Management treated us super well - highly recommend Uptown Cafe for breakfast or brunch!!

Came here for breakfast and definitely recommend! Service was quick, people were friendly, and food was great. I got the salmon hash with a bagel. I ordered the hash with scrambled eggs but think next time I'll get over easy to make it even better.

When I was nearly done with my meal, someone who wasn't my server (not sure if he was a food runner or another sever) offered me a to go cup of my soda, which was super nice! I'm glad I took it too, because I had unknowingly locked myself out of the car and enjoyed it while waiting for AAA in the parking lot! (I'm sure I could've gone back in to wait, but they came pretty quick.)

Will definitely be returning.

I was around this place and to be honest I was nervous to order. I took the risk and order the Salmon Hash. OMG, that was awesome. Red potatoes, red peppers, onion, mushrooms, eggs and salmon, I may missing something. But it was delicious. Good taste, good presentation, and the treatment was great. Clean bathroom, and quite place. Menu has a lot of options but I like to try something different every time. So if you are in town, swing by and pick something even if you think is crazy. You will not regret.

Skip the Ice tea..it’s a nasty floral.

It was a treat to walk down memory lane at this restaurant! I worked at this location about 15 years ago, and it was a delight to experience it again! Only this time, I got to bring my kids with me.

We enjoyed pancakes, bacon, ham, grits, eggs, and hashbrowns.

I love how the food quality is the same after all these years! Highly recommend this delicious family owned business 😋

So I just came in this morning and already felt bad about coming in 30 minutes before they closed at 2 pm. But they immediately seated us outside, which we so wanted, which was perfect. The server was great. Got our drinks immediately and our orders and . They were amazing. I ordered the salmon hash and a side of the corn beef hash. And the portions seemed huge. The corned beef looked like an entree so I asked the server if we had mistakenly ordered the entree and not the side. And they brought their manager out and they discounted the food for us and we're so kind. Brittany and Maddie were absolutely amazing and professional. And I'd definitely recommend coming here. And asking for them to serve you.

Daughter loved the smoked salmon and dill sauce sandwich. I enjoyed the turkey Reuben, but I don't like any black on my bread. The fancy hash browns were fun and filling. Our server was great. You can eat side in or out. All servers wore masks and tables were distanced which I like.

Great brunch restaurant. This place is a must to eat at. It was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. I had build your own bowl. Highly recommend this. Staff is very friendly and helpful to explain the menu. I will be back!

We stopped in for lunch, ToGo during our road trip and had a wonderful experience. Food was great! The employees were extremely kind. We’ll be back next time we drive through Tally! Highly recommend

Wonderful customer service the food is excellent. I couldn’t ask for a better place to have breakfast in Tallahassee Florida. The BD omelette is the best omelette I’ve ever had in my life. I dine in or takeout weekly. Mr. Fred is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. I thank you for the service you provide to our community.

The Ruben with potato salad is excellent, it's my current go-to lunch.

I also haven't met an omelette that I didn't like here.

The tiny drink cups seem kinda silly but refills are pretty forthcoming.

I am impressed!! It is very hard to please me when it comes to American food but they have officially won me over!! The wait was not long at all, customer service was great and the food came quick!! The first bite and my mind was blown! If you want awesome brunch this is the place to be!!

Such a wonderful place! The decor/atmosphere is so eclectic and cute. I had been here once before and liked it so I brought my dad from out of town here for brunch and it couldn’t have gone better. Although it was a hot & busy Saturday, we were greeted immediately and able to get a nice table inside. The food was phenomenal. We got the Rueben with potato salad, Banana bread French toast, pancakes, Bradley sausage, etc. and it was all delicious, but the service was truly what stood out the most. Our server Taylor helped my dad pick the best beer to get (proof 850) and he loved it. They also helped with food recommendations and we’re so glad we listened. We’re so thankful the food was so great and Taylor’s service was the best. I was also so pleased to see there’s a small cutely painted food pantry right outside that helps feed the community! This visit is what will make us regulars here!

I absolutely LOVE Uptown for breakfast, the BD omelet is the BEST!! Their banana bread is FANTASTIC as well! Great service, and friendly. Mr. Fred is so welcoming to everyone and before COVID, would come to each table and greet everyone at breakfast.

Love coming to Uptown. Incredible friendly owner and employees. Excellent service. Try the salmon and/or the corned beef, both homemade and delicious. Great little spot on the corner from TMH, always popping but plenty of tables to accommodate and the outside seating is great. Parking can be cramped at peak time, but we park down the road a bit and don’t mind the walk, it’s well worth it.

Overall a wonderful brunch experience! I tried the banana bread French toast, chocolate milk, and a side of hash browns. Each one was absolutely delicious! My waiter was very nice, attentive, and wanted to make sure my friend and I were satisfied with our meals and if they could make it better in any way. 5 stars!
