Dr. Stoetzel is an incredibly gifted surgeon with a deep level of understanding to a patients pain. He immediately assessed the multiple issues in my husband's back and had a resolution. He felt tremendously better the day after the surgery and still is doing well 15 years later.

He has performed multiple surgeries on me snd I have had excellent outcomes. As a result he has also operated on several of my family members and I refer him patients frequently. Dr Stoetzel has a very relaxed style that gives me confidence as a patient and yet when he needs to he can be direct and firm and me being a physician , I need that , as I am a terrible patient. His office folks are equally efficient and helpful.

Dr. Stoetzel has treated me and several of my family members for years. He has provided tremendous care to my children, wife, parents, aunts and uncles. Most consults have ended up providing care without surgery and he always finds the best outcome for each issue. I am confident that he will provide the best treatment or consultation for any of my family or friends.

My experience with Dr Spencer Stoetzel is ,and has been for 10 years , an absolute pleasure. He is a very kind , compassionate, and caring doctor who always listens to your present situation and evaluates it with care.He is patient, taking time to understand what your needs are and sharing his concerns and appropriate solutions with you.
His receptionists and staff are always friendly and helpful and know you by name, which makes your experience very personal .
I would recommend his service to anyone .

Been dealing with severe neck and arm pain for several weeks. Went to see Dr. Stoetzel, his PA ordered a MRI and within hours they were already following up with me with the results. I ended up having a ACDF done by Dr. Stoetzel at TMH. Everyone took extra caution and was very assertive to my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Stoetzel and his team. I could’ve chose a better doctor. He knows exactly what he’s doing!!!

Dr. Stoetzel‘s skills as a surgeon moved my constant 8 arm/shoulder pain to a ZERO after spinal surgery 12/2020. I could not be more grateful.

It wasn’t easy (which I knew to expect) but the outcome was worth the effort. I followed all his very clear and straightforward pre and post op do’s and don’t. I also made it to all my Physical Therapy appointments. Dr Stoetzel did his work to give me a chance to do my work.

I have been a patient for over a decade and I will go to no other orthopedist. Thank you, Dr Stoetzel

I cannot say enough good things about this remarkable physician. I have been seeing Dr. Stoetzel for six years. He picked up after multiple neuro and ortho surgeons offered no help to reduce my back pain and difficulty walking. Based on scientific findings (injections and MRIs), he cautiously approached my surgeries one level at a time; each affording me improvement. Following multiple back surgeries that culminated in a multi-level spinal fusion, I was much improved. The aging process caused need for a total hip replacement. I no longer require a mobility scooter to get around and he sent me to rehab for 10 days following surgery. Through it all, he was compassionate and listened intently as I shared my symptoms. His staff is fantastic, also.

I will never go to another orthopedic doctor again. Dr. Stoetzel is great. But I saw his PA today. She is great. Very personal and hope to see her again.
Every one is so nice. The front desk and receptionists are so knowledgeable. Nurses, x-ray techs and PAs are great.

I’ve read some of the more negative reviews and I can’t disagree with a few of them. But I believe the problem with doctors today is all of the insurance and other issues, red tape that has made it necessary for them to maximize their patients per day in order to make it as profitable as they expected it be when they paid the exorbitant costs of med school. Unfortunately, my wife and I have also had lots of poor experiences with doctors re bedside manner and the like. I’m not making excuses for them by any means, BUT I understand that they are under a lot of pressure. That said, during my visits, Dr. Stoetzel addressed my concerns, came up with treatment plans and referred me to PT; he seemed sincere in his desire to help with my problem. As far as pain meds go, I understand the frustration that some reviewers have expressed here. My wife had knee replacement surgery and the nerve block that was supposed to keep it numb for several days “did not take,” according to the anesthesiologist. This left her in unbearable pain and, long story short, it took an act of Congress to get her some meds to manage it. I received pain meds which I was previously prescribed on my first visit and was told the next visit that I needed to consult my PCP. The bottom line is that doctors are afraid to prescribe these medications in light of the drug companies exposed malfeasance. If you require medications like these, ask for a referral to pain management; under current conditions, that is your only option. In sum, I have to say that I was treated courteously by their very friendly staff, my problem is being treated with an appropriate plan for care, and Dr. Stoetzel has done his job well.

I found out I had avn in both hips back in feburary and was referred to Dr Stoetzel by my boss. After meeting with him he recommended a deep bone hip compression to try and promote blood flow back the the ball of my hip. He was completely honest in telling me that the surgery was a 50/50 shot of working and if it works then it would prevent the need of a hip replacement. Dr Stoetzel was very upfront and honest with me and answered all the questions that I had regarding my condition and the surgical procedure. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or that he was just in it for the $$ like some have posted before me. The reception staff is very friendly and a pleasure to encounter when I walk in. The fellas who take the xrays are a joy to work with and make me laugh every time they take xrays of me. Dr Stoetzels assistant is great. On many occasions we have chatted more about our similar taste in music and other things in life and its very relaxing to feel like they care about me as a person and not just another patient to quickly get in and out. Unfortunately the hip compression didnt take and I just had the hip replacement surgery a week ago. I knew the risk of the first surgery an opted for it anyway because who wants a full hip replacement at 39??? Both surgeries were fantastic and I was appreciative of them making me as comfortable as they could before and after both surgeries.Dr Stoetzel and his staff in my opinion are top notch and would recommend them to anyone. Hopefully I won't ever have to get a replacement in my other hip due to the avn, but if I do, then I know I'm in great hands!!! Thanks again Dr Stoetzel and staff and I look forward to seeing you on my follow up appointment!!!!

My son broke his arm while he was up at school in Connecticut. My husband brought him home to Tallahassee and Dr Stoetzel got him into surgery within days. Three pins later, which we are so thankful for because his growth plates are still open, and his bones are put back together straight. Thank you Dr Stoetzel!!

Dr. Stoetzel has done surgery on my hand and finger, that I broke in a fall. He did an excellent job on my entire surgery. I made a complete recovery. He has also taken care of my knees, which are in terrible shape, due to my CTD. He gave me injections about seven months ago, not cortisone, something that is better than that. I have many complicating issues, and he understands them all, and does his best to help. His staff is kind, and polite. The young man who does my x-rays is thoughtful, professional, and kind. Stacy is always a tremendous help, with helping with my medications. Tracy is a very kind receptionist. I apologize for the previous review, I truly don't know what happened. This is not how I sign my name, or the picture that I use. My username is carolintallahassee 👒. That is how you know that I truly wrote the review! I am trying to figure out with Google what transpired. Thanks!

Very appreciative of Dr. Stoetzel's diagnosis of my daughters foot pain/issue, his plan of action for her care, the time he took with us, the kind "bed side manner" that he had with her and his follow-up. I highly recommend Dr. Stoetzel for orthopedic care!

Don’t bother with the other Orthopedic center. They won’t even return your phone call. Dr. Stoetzel and team are there to help. He has gotten me through some difficult periods.
