It used to be a blessing. I had CHP while working for the State. It used to be about healthcare. Now, it's about profits. For the first time, my meds are being denied, while my premiums keep spiraling upwards. "Member Services"??
Doesn't exist. They've gone corporate.
Shame, CHP. SHAME

I switched from Florida Blue 6 weeks ago after being told my prior authorization for a surgical procedure would transfer over. The night before the procedure I got a call that the surgery was canceled because the prior authorization was revoked. This feels capricious because I did everything I could before I switched to anticipate this problem and was consistently reassured not to worry about it. "Doug" at CHP member services was unhelpful and then rude. There is no ombudsman or consumer advocate. This is why people hate insurance companies. They exist to prevent people from getting health care. I expected better from CHP and was disappointed.

One of the news stories today is about an unreasonable Olive Garden manager in Kansas and I am wondering if that could be a manager from CHP. One of CHP’s managers had COVID positive staff returning to work, I am not sure how it wasn’t covered by WCTV.

unable to resolve issues. deflects to other middle management groups who are un responsive to your issues and do contact you about meds, imaging orders. Require prior authorization to change dose on same meds. most difficult group I have ever worked with. Great at Blocking and deflecting member issues
