22 years ago I bought my first car there, a Crown Vic Station wagon for $ 700.- and I drove it for 10 years. 2 weeks ago I stopped there again because I was interested in a vehicle they had. There's usually no sales person inside the front building so you have to call or ring the bell at the door.

I purchased an 01 Dodge 3500, with 67k miles, for well below what it would of cost me in Idaho, by thousands, after the expense of airfare and associated costs driving back to Boise

The dealer was emailed, we exchanged several follow-up emails, and made an appointment for a local Port Richey A.S.E. Certified mechanic to have a look for me. The dealer was beyond accommodating. The mechanic took the van to his shop, had a look over, took it for a drive, and called me with his good opinion of the van

We made wire transfer arrangements, the dealer stayed after hours, for my late flight to pick up the van

The van had a fresh coat of paint, so a correct assumption if hidden rust was there, I mean it is somewhat coastal with loads of humidity, to be expected

The van drove from New Port Richey to Boise Idaho flawlessly. The dealer did thorough safety check, had good tires on it for the drive, and even insisted on changing out the spare for a better tire, just in case

The van has had usual and to be expected wear and associated costs of operating a heavy duty 1 ton rig.

We have put over 60k hard miles, towing equipment, hauling 300 gallons of water water 6-7 days a week, in the pressure washing and window cleaning industry

Am contemplating contacting them for another rig, this summer, if my budget allows

Thank you for a sound auto purchasing experience, from across the nation

I have been a customer of Red Carpet motors thru Jerry & Bill since purchasing my first Car from them in 2002. I have purchased for my family 10 cars and trucks and every time received the best deal, service and follow up. They were always there with help if need with a problem(very few actually) and each car or truck I purchased including 2 for my business we better deals each time. Great Job guys and many thanks for 17 years of great deals. I recommend them for great pre-owned deals.

I am writing this review only to let potential buyers know of my experience with a van I had purchased about 6 or 7 months ago from Red Carpet Motors in Port Richie. Also to let the sales person/owner know what a lemon he sold me. This review is in no way intended to be a threat of any kind, nor is it intended to be slander. I am compelled to reveal my on-going sad story of this mistake. Here goes: On or about 6 or 7 months ago, I purchased a Dodge Van, full size cargo, 3500 series. I was excited, because I was searching for this particular model. The van had (I now question this) about 130,000 miles on her. It is a 2001. The van had a fresh paint job. That should have been my first clue that something was wrong. Well, I paid cash, knowing that it needed tires right away I felt that the price was right at the time. I took it for new tires a few weeks after I bought it only to find out that it also needed four shocks and ball joints. I got the shocks and tires, but declined the ball joint replacement. Then the AC stopped working a few weeks later. Ok, they replaced the resister and it worked for a short time. About 2 weeks. Come to find out, it was a bad connector on the resistor. Needles to say, I switched repair shops. So, a few weeks after that the truck started running hot. To make a long story short, I had to get the water pump and radiator replaced. Then a few weeks later I had to get the clutch fan replaced. Then a few weeks later I had to replace the air conditioner compressor and evaporator. This all took place within the last 4 months. I forgot to mention that most of the time when I come to a red light the oil pressure gage goes down to zero and the alarm comes on. But I was told by two different shops that the oil pressure and pump are working ok, so it must be a wire or connection. I forgot to mention that when I pulled the partition out of the van I discovered a big hole rusted through the floorboard. Lucky I have the materials and experience to patch things like that. So I did. Now I have had 4 or 5 of these old Dodge vans over my lifespan and never ever had even one tenth the issues that I'm having with this piece of trash. I say having, and not had because I just broke down again today. Now I need a rear-end. The buck stops here. I junking it. I know I can't legally recover any money from Red Carpet Motors, so the best I can do for my own sanity is share with you my experience. I'm no expert, and I am not accusing anybody of anything criminal, but if I had to guess, I would say that the odometer was turned back on the nightmare. If I get the rear end replaced for the 12 hundred dollars, I'm almost positive that the transmission will be next. That's why I must cut my losses. As far as the owner, well, I sure hope you're reading this. I think you probably remember me. I'm the one that had to relocate from the Keys do to Hurricane Irma. I lost my truck in the hurricane and was very excited to find an old Dodge van to replace it. Little did I know I would be taken in such a horrible way. I'm curious to know if the previous owner turned back the miles. This piece of garbage has too many problems for a van with less than 140,000 miles on her. So I will end my review by reaching out to all you potential customers. This was my experience It's all true, and I have every receipt to back it up. I'm not accusing anyone of criminal acts, (unless I find out about the odometer reading), but I will say that there was some very poor stewardship here at Red Carpet Motors, Port Richie Florida. Be careful. Be very careful! Again, this review is only intended to share my unpleasant experience. Nothing more. Ok, I don't know why, but When I looked at my review, it has 5 stars. Believe me, I only clicked one star. And I only did that because there was nothing lower to click.
