Very good bait store, Great selection of tackle and bait.

Melinda was a life saver. I was out kayaking and I had two children with me. It was going to start raining soon. She came out and helped us remove everything from the water. She was very kind and helpful. I stopped in a week later and she guided us to some spots to fish and gave us a bunch of information on fishing with different live bait. This place has so much different live bait I have never seen at other bait shops. She filled up a bait bucket and off we went and caught some beautiful fish. Thank You very much for your kindness Melinda.

The Bait Depot is an absolute gem! They have the best selection of baits, including the best of the best shrimp selection for miles around. Really great people and very helpful.

They always have a great selection of live bait. The prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff always. Shrimp, fiddler crabs, pinfish, etc....

What can I say about this place. My 30. Yr old daughter and I of 58 decided to pick up and start fishing a couple weeks ago and picked up a few items we thought we would need to have a nice time on the water.Neither of us even knew how to string up the poles and how to knot a hook to the fishing line.
So I called Bait Depot and talked to a woman named Malinda and explained my situation and she said come right over and they will set me up.
She and her coworker Rick spent over an hour of their own time explaining how to use the rod and teaching us how to knot the hooks.
Note the stuff they were using didn’t even come from that store.
After getting a great lesson
We went inside and bought a few things and thanked them both but they didn’t even charge us for showing us how to use our new poles.
Will definitely be back in soon.
In short the best service I’ve ever had and I think we even made a friend or two

There are tons of assortments of soft plastics as well as terminal tackle! Frozen bait to chum to crab traps. They have it all.

I'm in the area for a few weeks, and I've been in several times. I've gotten good advice for fishing areas, and twice the young ladies have given me substantially more shrimp than I asked or paid for. Either they both missed elementary school math, or they found me so attractive that they couldn't concentrate, or they're really really nice. I'm going with really really nice! Thanks!

Such a great place and trust me... I went through my fair share before finding them. All of the employees are super nice and very knowledgeable. They have a great selection of all the necessities which are very competitively priced and in a lot of cases cheaper. They have a variety of live bait and I have yet to pay a visit that they were out. I would highly recommend checking them out should the need arise.

Great selection of rods, tackle, and bait! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff! Gave us great tips on local fishing guides and fishing spots. Special thanks to Bill for helping me out of a big jam!

I absolutely love this place. It has a great old time feel to it. All the help is.great but Liz was especially helpful helping me to get started fishing. Now I am a fishing addict.

Enjoyed the experience, the bait, supplies, the information, and the attitude was SO positive compared to the other bait shops. We went 30 minutes prior to them closing expecting some attitude but got hit with a sign stating “Come in as strangers but leave as friends” and that couldn’t of been any truer! Loved it! Actually planning on going back every morning. Not every bait shop has what they have. The prices are pretty good as well ! I’d pay for the customer service alone :) Thanks again ! Wish I caught his name. Guess I could wait till the morning to write this when I get his name but I was just so pleased. Thanks !!!!

Great store and even better people!

Love this place. Not a large store by any means but most bait stores I've visited aren't large at all to begin with. They have an awesome selection of live and frozen bait and lots of tackle equipment and gear. The live bait are reasonably priced. My go to spot whenever I'm going fishing alone or with my family. I also commend their excellent staff with super friendly customer service. Definitely check them out if you're planning a fishing trip!

This tackle store is super friendly. The typical down home business. I go out of my way to buy my bait here. Most, if not all places will count the shrimp out one at a time, not here, they give you a heavy dozen and charge well under what all other shops are charging. Right now, May of 2021 the price of regular shrimp is only $2.50. They carry pin fish, tiny crabs, select shrimp and frozen shrimp, frozen squid and other baits. They also gave tackle, crab traps, bait traps too much to list. The best thing about this shop is their eagerness to please and not rip off their customers like some of the other shops I used to deal with. You can’t go wrong here, trust me.

Went here looking for cricket's for our turtle. Young man helped us find a alternative since they didn't carry the cricket's. He was knowledgeable about his bait and very customer driven which is hard to find these days especially with younger people. Would definitely recommend for all your fishing needs in the Port Richey area.

Excellent service from the time we walked in. We always stop here before going fishing in the gulf. Live bait was plentiful and it lasted all night long in the buckets. Great prices great service 5 stars
