Volusia County Property Appraiser

I have been there on several occasions in search of real estate information and I find the office to be very customer-focused. Much more so than it was under the previous Gilbreath administration, where it was all about "The Property Appraiser." Thank you Mr. Bartlett for bringing the office into the 21st century

I had a few pertinent questions about property ‘legalities’ and didn’t make it past the first person to answer my call😳 ❤🥰! The wonderful young woman tolerated my ranting and questions and I insisted that if need, transfer me to anyone, who can help❤ She never transferred me and fielded at least three questions/issues, mostly unrelated to her specific job, quite probably❤ Outstanding❣ I am forever grateful that human kindness is still prevalent in some of the population.

Find the tax office and service to be professional, friendly. Native Floridian, 4th generation, so have real Florida love affair going on. Have lived in several of its 67 counties and yes, Volusia taxes are a bit higher... but believe this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for.

Came in the office to file my homestead exemption and was greeted warmly and was in and out in 5 minutes. No issues.

I called them 3 times and each time they were rude and clearly annoyed I contacted them with questions. Cutting me off and trying to get me off the phone. I'm not a rude person and I was respectful and courteous with them. If you don't like your job, you should quit. I don't feel great knowing I have to go through them to get things done.

Bad service. Taxes are higher than in Orlando, and they make it ridiculously hard to get anything done. Trying to save money by moving to Volusia County? forget it, the taxes are going to kill off any benefit.
