Savory Mexican Restaurant

Wow! What an amazing restaurant and not your typical Mexican Restaurant! Although it’s hard to see when driving by, being nestled next to a grocery, once inside the ambiance is great and employees are fantastic! The manager or proprietor of the establishment came to our table at lunchtime to explain the specials for the day and to tell us EVERYTHING is made in house, which was a real treat. The portions are hearty, providing enough for leftovers for us and the food quality was excellent. The salsa and chips were unique to me because the salsa was made with a lot of guacamole…combined with the in house made tortilla chips which are thicker than normal chips was a treat! If ever in the area again and looking for lunch, we will definitely return.

INCREDIBLE FLAVOR. One of the BEST places in the Greater Atlanta Area, you would think it was in the city with this kind of quality and flavor. Nothing else comes close. Owner (Carlos) is a master chef and very kind, respectful, and passionate about his craft; uses only fresh ingredients. This place is to Mexican cuisine what Rumi’s is to Persian cuisine. Everything we ordered was very delicious. I will drive 45 minutes from Midtown to eat here again, this place is actually that good. Try it for yourself, you will be happy you did.

Delicious authentic Mexican food. My mom and I were first time customers here and we were so impressed! My mom had the chicken fajita and I had the steak burrito! The chips and quac are great, their chips are handmade. food quality/taste is excellent, customer service is excellent and the restaurant/bathrooms are very clean! Highly recommend and We will definitely be returning!

Original Mexican food NOT Tex-mex. Everything we ordered had a lot of flavor. The owner and Chef Carlos is very passionate about cooking and the service is the best. He came to our table to welcome us and make sure everything was good. The tortillas are homemade! The salsas are so good it’s impossible to choose a favorite one. You won’t go wrong with anything on the menu. First time visiting and will definitely be back more often to try different options. We wish we heard about this place much sooner. Too bad it’s about an hour from us but well worth the drive.

Great authentic Mexican food! Order at the counter when you go in and then find a seat. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! We had the chorizo quesadilla and the cubano torta.

I ate here one time and just had to come back. Both of my visits did not disappoint. Food here is delicious and they are quick! The owner(I’m assuming) has been super kind to me, as well as hospitable. Ps: I recommend the soups not only are they so flavorful, it just feel nourishing. To eat .Very affordable & large quantities. I love this place!

What a great place for authentic Mexican. The best dishes over pizza and hamburgers as well as wings. I love this place and very friendly people and they take it to another level of samples..I give this restaurant a five star. My business will be given. Live music and a fun atmosphere. We poured in 20 deep, and they accommodated us in a spectacular manner. The food was AMAZING, very homemade feel and fresh taste. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. They made the experience delightful, not stressful. Definitely recommend this place for authentic Mexican food.

Review Update (November, 2023): I tried the Camerones a la Mexicana and it was so good!! Highly recommended this shrimp dish! See 2nd picture.

Small mom and pop serving delicious food with wonderful service!! We tried their al pastor and carnitas tacos along with their special of the day Consumé, which we absolutely loved!! We would highly recommend stopping by and trying this place out. We will definitely be back!

I thought I liked Mexican food already, but this place is next-level. When I come here for lunch, I always just order one of day's specials. The food always tastes great, like it's homemade from a good family recipe.

Most times when I visit, chef Carlos is right there and happy to talk about what the specials are and suggest something I might like. I've never been disappointed!

I live over 35 minutes from this place but happened to be in the area today and needed a lunch location. What a great choice we made. The menu is not overly complex but authentic, in a street food sort of way. Chips and queso were excellent, the chips were extra brown and had seasoned salt to give them that extra flavor kick. Queso had a ton of fresh jalapeños as well. The tacos won't disappoint, running a bit to the overstuffed side. Especially enjoyed the chorizo taco. Worth the drive as the prices are reasonable, too.

Vacationing from Pa. Went here after reading reviews. Was not disappointed. We had a chicken burrito and fajitas and beans. The flavor was amazing and portions were more than enough. They even had hand made corn tortillas, which accommodated my gluten issues. Owner was so friendly and took time to chat with us a bit (was a quiet time when we stopped in). Tried some “rice pudding” for dessert-also delicious & enough for two of us to share. Highly recommend😊

This was our first time trying Savory but it will not be our last. My husband and I each got something new and different. I tried the Bistec a al Mexicana and he got the Cubano. His was very large and absolutely delicious! My meal was very good but not my favorite that we tried. After talking to the owner, Carlos, about the restaurant, he told us about how he makes everything and all the special dishes he makes. We talked to him for close to 30 mins and enjoyed the whole conversation. He also brought us a sample of the Puerco (I wish I had taken a pic of the specials menu) and the Quesabirrias. OMG! The Puerco was fantastic but the Quesabirrias was AMAZING! I am so glad we found this place! See you soon, Carlos!

Holy freshness! My husband and I were blown away by the delicious food! Hands down the best Mexican spot in town. The staff is super friendly too. Give it a try!!

Wonderful service. First time coming in this place & I’m amazed by the friendliness and the pleasant environment. The drinks were sooo good and the food was terrific!!😭😭 I don’t usually leave reviews but this place is exceptional, please visit here with your family & friends. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant now, such a hidden gem!!
