The food was so delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. I usually don't like lamb chops, but these tasted amazing and had a beautiful presentation. The coconut shrimp was on top of a homemade mango pineapple salsa that was so good I would've bought some if it were for sale. We will definitely be going back because there are other dishes on the menu that I'm excited to try!!

I absolutely love the food from this place. It’s always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I’ve taken my husband and sister here and they each fell in love. The only negative thing I have to say is they don’t have enough waiters. This place is poppin and can get busy. Having 1-2 waiters working the entire floor is a lot. So whenever you visit please be ready for a wait but the food is so so worth it. Just be patient and enjoy the vibes. Our favorite dishes are the lamb chops, Caribbean nachos with pork, chicken bites, jerk shrimp and grits, cauliflower bites, rice and peas, sweet potato soufflé. Definitely a staple restaurant for us and we will return!

I was actually going to another restaurant, and ran into this place. What a treat!!! It was my first time being and eating at a Caribbean restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, and a great vibe. It did take a few minutes to get seated, understood for a Saturday night. Once seated, it did take a while before we met our waitress. Nevertheless, she made up for it, she did explain the menu, and even went to the kitchen to get a few of the sauces to help me make the best choice for my meal. We went with the 3meat platter. OMG!!!! I HAVE NEVER TASTED A MEAL THAT WAS COOKED WITH SO MUCH LOVE. The ribs has a homemade barbecue sauce, and the meat was so tender, it fell off the bone. The chicken had a true smoke tasted, the best was the jerked pull pork. It was cooked to perfection. The corn pudding and the sweet potatoes soufflé were both amazing!!!
Please understand I never step out of my comfort zone when it come to food, but I’m soooooo glad I did. This place is definitely in my top places to eat. If you’re in the Baton Rouge area, please stop by, you won’t be disappointed…..

Fantastic experience! The service was wonderful. Great suggestions with a smile. My first time trying Joumou soup. Loved it! The ox tail was delicious. The sampler appetizer was great. I could've ordered 3 more plates of that.

Wow, if you haven’t tried Blue Fish Bistro you are missing out! We stopped in to try them and they were closed, but the owners were there doing paperwork and the Chef/ Owner insisted on fixing us a couple of items. Let me say WOW!
His wife told us while he was fixing the food, that he was an executive chef & international trainer for Ruth Chris steak house. When he finished that, he helped launch Voodoo BBQ. The flavor and the plating of the food, was like nothing I have ever had in Baton Rouge. I have traveled all over the world and can tell you this is not just a meal, it’s an experience!

Food was amazing, black owned, authentic flavors, everything was very seasoned which I love, there’s a lot of vegetarian options, drinks were good and on the weaker side, only down side it was an extremely long wait.

First time eating here and I will have to say everything we ordered was great. We started out with the Haitian Griot and Coconut shrimp both was very good. Then for our main meal my friend had Shrimp N Grits and I got the Lamb Chops (picture below) soooo good i definitely will be going back 😋

Whenever I come to baton rouge. 100% of the time, I will come here. From drinks, appetizers, main meal, and dessert, you will have your needs met.... now I'm having flashbacks of that rum cake... goodness gracious. I need some now.

Best Carribean food in the city! My family and I dined in on Valentine's Day. I ordered the Cauliflower Bites with Mango Salsa for an appetizer, the Yellow Seafood Saffron Paella topped with Grilled Salmon for my main course, and the Rich Chocolate Gateau with Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was attentive! Great Vibes!

This was a great carribean place off of Nicholson. Kind of on the expensive side but we'll worth it. I had jerk shrimp and my lady had jerk pork and it was soo good. The sauce went well with a side of coconut rice. The shrimp were cooked butifly. The atmosphere was different from the outside look. I assumed it would be a bit higher scale until I went inside and was greater by the staff. It looks more like a casual venue with great omage to the carribian and the fishing. Overall a great spot for a bite to eat from the islands!

I keep forgetting to take the picture before it's half eaten. Dessert didn't stand a chance. The JouMou starter soup was incredible. I had the cup, but a full bowl with some flatbread to dunk would be a great lunch or dinner. And the lamb chops were juicy and flavorful. Minor complaints, the (delicious) sauce was too salty for my taste. The staff was friendly and helpful if inexperienced.

This was my first experience and it was amazing. The waiter was very knowledgeable and he referred the salmon and it was excellent. For an appetizer I got the coconut shrimp and it was great as well. 10/10

This food was 20/10! The staff was amazing. We went right before they closed and we still had the best experience. The hibiscus punch was so good. I had a Haitian Griot and it had so much flavor. Ofc I got the oxtails and when I say tender fall off the bone good! Will definitely be going back soon. Gotta try more things ! 🤪

My best friend and I ate dinner on a Thursday night. No waiting for a table. Had a wonderful waiter who goes by the nickname of Todo. Did a great job at explaining the dishes. We shared the fried coconut shrimp appetizer which consists of 8 large shrimp with 2 types of dipping sauces. Very flavorful and not overly battered. My friend had the curry chicken with a green salad and the jasmine rice. She had at least 3 large pieces of dark meat and shared her large salad. Side dishes available on the menu also included sweet potato souffle and corn pudding. My dish was a pasta dish- jerked chicken that had large pieces of white meat in a slightly spicy cream sauce. Very large portion. The waiter was kind enough to allow me to sample the sweet potato dish. Quite good! We shared their bread pudding for dessert. It is lighter in texture than most with white chocolate chips and a nice rum sauce. There is a TV at the bar that has live video feed of the chef preparing your food to order. The music was an Island vibe along with the decor. Both very pleasant. I will be returning especially when the Conch fritters are available. Shared my experience with a friend and she and her husband visited the next night. He said the corn pudding was delicious! Highly recommend this excellent restaurant. I will be ordering some of their lunch specials.

Definitely give this restaurant a try. The owner is kind, the servers are nice, and the food is amazing. The only criticism I have is that the food takes a while to come out, but I come here so frequently because every meal is worth the wait.

A great vibe with Amazing food and will definitely make the trip to go again! Salmon was one of the best cooked pieces of fish I’ve had in a long time and just melts in your mouth and paired right with the coconut Jasmin rice.

This lovely restaurant is a gem! It has a beautiful international flavor: the food, the owners, the employees, everything gives you travel vibes. Everyone is so kind and hospitable - and they even have a menu sensitive to allergies and/or food preferences.

First time, great choice anytime, for me and my sorors a great choice celebrating Black ⚫ History Month, supporting Black businesses. However; the atmosphere was great & a blend of many cultures. Best Curry dish I've ever eaten. 😋 A must try, go to, be there. Oh yes the owner came over to introduce herself, such a plus.

The food and atmosphere were good, with nice portions and seasoned well. The only complaint the food took a while, and the waiter explained the delay. I wanted to order the shrimp curry, but the brunch menu was limited, and I wasn't able to order off the regular menu. I will be visiting again to try the shrimp curry.
