5 stars for the king cakes and the level of service we got from the ladies behind the desk. They helped us choose the best ones and really showed interest in what we were looking for. Pictures are Strawberry Shortcake and Recces.

The butcher at Alexander’s is amazing! Came in on Sept. 24th Saturday morning looking for a standing prime rib roast and he did not disappoint. I got the most beautifully marbled and trimmed roast ever. Made for a very special birthday dinner with friends and family.

The store seems to be well stocked with a variety of groceries, baked goods, sushi, and other and pre-cooked products to bring home for meals. They also have many unique health, beauty, and homeopathic products available.

They have a florist and some unique gift selections as well.

I like the deli and the outside courtyard area is really nice. Too bad it’s too hot to sit outside to enjoy it but I imagine it’s really nice when the weather cools some.

Best grocery store in Baton Rouge. Friendly staff, never a wait in line, quality meat and seafood. They always seem to have the items that no one else has.

The most beautiful roses every two weeks at the most reasonable price! The colors are unbelievable! My most recent purchase! These are 5 days old!

The selection of food is amazing. When you walk in, it's like walking into a beautiful garden. You are met with flowers at the door. The produce section is next and it has a great fresh variety of things. Then your nose picks up the amazing smell of smoked meats which leads to the meat and seafood section. There are so many things to choose from. The wine and liquor areas are huge. Lots of local products and things you can't even find in the bigger stores. This was my second time in the store and it got better if that's even possible. The lovely cashiers are so helpful and friendly. They also have a sandwich shop in the store, salad bar, hot food perfect for lunch or dinner and tons of prepared foods. The bakery has a great selection of local and store made goodies. I will for sure be back because I saw lots I want to get.

Alexander’s Highland Market is the only place I can shop in the Prairieville area and have access to all my organic and natural food needs met. It’s a beautiful store that is well taken care of. The shelves are fully stocked. Staff is attentive. And the prices are more competitive than Whole Foods.

Had a Club Sandwich for lunch. I was surprised that the sandwich was cut in half and not fourths. Excellent sandwich and the chips hit the spot. The unlimited refills made for a great meal.

Nice grocery store more of an upscale type place so prepare for high prices on some things but still not outrageously overpriced and allot of shure fine brand stuff for cheap options. Got a cannoli king cake looks great

One of my all-time favorites when I visit family back home in Baton Rouge. I love their doberge cakes, especially their half doberges. The bakery team are super friendly.

Awesome spot for local shopping. Fair prices. Many in store prepared dishes already cooked or take home and cook options. Friendly and courteous staff. The store is extremely clean and welcoming. Wine selection is also great. Will definitely visit again.

They have an amazing selection of dairy-free cheese, and a solid stock of other quality dairy-free items (except cashew milk ice creams, which can be found elsewhere). They also have a lot of gluten-free options; the bread I bought there tasted very fresh! Their produce was of good quality and freshness, too. Staff was friendly. There is a rewards card you can sign up for online or at the service counter, which is good to have as the store is on par with Whole Foods in terms of price. Overall, this store is a good choice for people with dietary restrictions who want to shop local.

UPDATE: I was honestly not bothered about the lack of my favorite ice cream brand, and only mentioned it because, well, sometimes you really want ice cream and it's nice to know where it's in stock. But on a recent trip, I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole array of new dairy-free ice creams, including my favorite, which came in a delicious flavor I hadn't known existed! That is some amazing customer service. If it wasn't already a 5-star location, I'd give them another star.

Friday's lunches are a secret here. Best fried fish and Shrimp...both are $7.99 per pound if you get something in addition to the fish/shrimp. If not, only fish and/or shrimp are $9.99 per pound, but still a great bargain. Some of best staffing in Baton Rouge....

Come around 12:15 on Fridays and you will probably see me there...get some fresh gelato to clean the palette.

Alexander's has an amazing wine collection that is maintained daily by the in-house wine expert!! Deli is good with daily hotplate plus a seperate sandwich counter. Sushi is made fresh daily in full view and he has serious skills. Bakery has a beautiful grab/go cake collection. Oh yea..the butcher and seafood workers are very helpful. Beautiful florals!! NO I dont work there...but I have shopped there weekly since moving here 2 years ago and find that the store has only gotten better and it's obvious that management/workers care.

This market is great!!! Wonderfully stocked, clean! Great selections! Organic and vegetarian friendly! Nice, helpful people! Thanks Ms Linda for your tips! It has a deli, a bakery, a lil floral shop and a cafe' with some delish jambalaya!! I don't travel out of my way and battle traffic getting to Whole Foods as much since I started shopping here!!!

P.S. Attention: This GREAT place is building a new store in Gonzales off Hwy 30!!! Even closer to me. . .

I only started shopping here regularly about a year ago. At first I only purchased a few things that I couldn’t find at my regular grocer. Once I was told by my Dr. that I should begin a gluten free diet, I’ve started to shop here more regularly. There is a gluten free section of the store, and the other products in the store are clearly marked if they are gf. The people who work here are always friendly and ready to help if needed. The store is always clean and you can tell that they take pride in the store.
Lately I have been using their curbside delivery, they are great about calling to review your purchases, and if they are out of something they suggest similar options for purchase. I barely ever give five star reviews but this establishment deserves it!!
Alexander’s definitely goes above and beyond to serve their community as a local grocer.

This store is clean, the people are friendly and has a great wine selection. Thursday night steak night is a deal. IYKYK Highly recommended. I love the cakes by the slice too. Always a pleasure to visit.
