Beautiful park. Boating, fishing, great picnic areas, benches, and trails. Some trail areas are not clearly marked. Dog friendly!

Cash or card to get in, $12 if you’re not a Carroll county resident. If you want quiet fishing, park by the nature center and walk down. Area by the boat house is full of nice people barbecuing and kids playing at the playground( there are a few to choose from). Nice bathroom up the hill from the boat house.

Beautiful park with lots of outdoor activities like hiking, boating and fishing. There are also playground areas, a small nature center and pavillions for picnics. Pavilion areas may need to be reserved in advance, check website for details. Dogs are allowed.
There is an entrance fee.

This place is very big and absolutely beautiful! I hiked this yesterday and will be taking my teen daughter and younger son tomorrow. It also has jungle gyms and play areas for younger kids.
You do have to pay 12 dollars if a non Carroll County resident but it's well worth it. Pavilions are also available to rent for parties and such, it's a very nice place to enjoy nature.

A beautiful park with nature trails in Eldersburg/Sykesville (I-70 east, just past exit 73) Maryland (eastern part of the state). There is boating for a fee plus a nice 3 plus mile loop of trails going through the forest. There is a very small aviary that is housing Barred owls and Red tail hawks. At the beginning of the Nature area is a nice sit down open air birding observatory with various feeders. I definitely recommend it. The bugs weren't too bad but be prepared just the same.

We were on the side trails across lake from the docks. Beautiful shaded trail with tall trees and wide maintained paths. Only saw 2 people on the trail on a Saturday around mid afternoon, so not crowded. Following our walk we had some ice cream from Norwoods (5 min drive)

Beautiful location, excellent for family activities. If you like water you can bring your own boat or rent there. Bring your kayak and also fish by the docks.

I love this park. It's a little expensive if your out of county. Amazing for kayaking and fishing. Will be back 100%

So beautiful! I always suggest looking up park details and policies before visiting one for the first time. Cost me $6 to enter as a Carroll County resident and I feel it was worth that. Parking appeared sufficient with some lots closer to the water so you don't have to walk very far. I had to make sure my inflatable craft had 3 separate air chambers (for my safety) and there are other specifications for any watercraft. Boats are not currently available to rent. I didn't see anywhere you could really swim, like a beach area or a nearby stream, and you're not permitted to deliberately enter the water from your craft. The park was closing the day I went at 7:40 p.m. - make sure you're out by closing or you could get locked in! Come prepared, especially if you plan to boat. I'm new to boating and thought this was a nice place to start. If anyone saw someone flailing their oars around like an idiot within the past week...that was probably me. 😅

the park is absolutely stunning with lots of trails. please be aware, tho, that it costs 12$ to enter for non Carroll county residents, which is the highest price i’ve paid to enter a park.

Such a fun place to visit! Out of county resident entry fee is $12. There are also boat rentals that you can rent per hour or for the day that aren't a bad deal at all. Clean water and a clean park. 👌🏻 Quiet and tranquil.

Beautiful lake! Pedal boat $10/30 mins, kayaking, boating rental $35/day. Basketball/tennis courts! Entrance fee $5 Carrol county resident/$10 others per car. Clean restrooms, with water and toilet paper, air dryer for hands. Just lovely lovely place!

This is a great local park with abundant amenities- boating, hiking trails, nature center, playgrounds, numerous pavilions, benches throughout. Bring a lunch and make a day of it.. Well worth the park fee!

10$ to get in. Worth it. This parks trails stand out. If your used to a moderate hike, 7 miles, you can do the whole park in a couple hours. Super easy and nice.

LOVE this park in Carroll County! I am most familiar with the lake area: beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings and the folks that we have encountered are all pleasant and happy to be there as well. If you're lucky, you may get a visit from a blue heron. A great place to spend a summer day. 🌞

Love the park and so does my dog. He was really happy with all the new sights, smells, trails to walk around and the park has a great service to take advantage of if you want to come use the boats, kayaks and the canoes and paddle boats and if you know how expensive a kayak is you can come get one for an hour to paddle around the lake and then you can come as often as you want and you have a lot to do with your friends or family and your dog is going to absolutely love it and love you as well for taking him out to have a great day at the park:)
