Mom's Sweet Shop

This place was really cool and the staff are genuine surfer/skater dudes who were super friendly! This was our first time so I’m not sure of the backstory, but it seems like the owners may have opened the shop in honor of their mom, which was super cool and unexpected. Merchandise was awesome and unique and the shop is decorated perfectly. The truffles, chocolate shake, and acai bowl were really amazing too! Definitely a must-see if you’re in the area!

Edit: the shop is named after the original “Mom’s Sweet Shoppe” that one of the owners grew up frequenting as a kid. As the website says, the atmosphere is young and fresh, yet nostalgic and comfortable — designed to make it feel like home!

Delicious treats, fun things to look at and shop for while you wait, and very friendly staff! A must stop if you're driving by and need a pick me up. Looking forward to another treat when we're back in town!

Run here and grab their truffles. The flavor and decadence was impeccable. We received a box from the airbnb we were staying at and ate 2 a day for a whole week they were so rich. Such a great host gift or just if you want to treat yourself!

Great stop, they have some high quality and cool shop items and their ice cream was great. I inhaled this banana split.

Great smoothies and drinks with eclectic clothing and delicious candy and chocolates. They also have a skate shop with boards and hardware. Interesting store for everyone adult and kids alike.

Edit: second visit was for ice cream and candy. The the prices of both are incredible, you can actually bring your kids to get some soft serve with candy sprinkles without dropping $20. And only $10 a pound for candy? With an amazing selection of sour candy.

We go down to OBX a few times a month and this is a must-stop. Great atmosphere. I wish I could sit in there all day, grab a great milkshake, listen to dope tunes and just look at some of the absolute stellar stuff they have in here. If you don't stop here, you're really missing out. Don't be lame.

This is the most unique shop. It has something to appeal to all ages. They have an assortment of goodies which includes ice cream,shakes, chocolates and old fashion candies. While there check out the sun glasses, jewelry, clothing, locally made items and one of a kind T shirts. Derik, Jessica and staff are extremely personable and enjoy chatting with customers. We ❤ this adorable shop and it's owners!

We have been to tourist spots in the past and they do not compare to the ice cream here. My husband got the banana pudding milkshake and it was so good. My son and I split the banana split and that was delicious to. The cake milkshake was also delicious. Our family loves to come to the outer banks and this is one of our new spots. My absolute favorite shop in the Outer Banks! Our family comes here every year and it's always the best. We love everything about it - friendly service, cute shop, great gifts - but the soft serve is truly in a league of its own!!

Came across this place quite by accident and glad I did. Very unique place with sweets, various candies recognized from childhood, good collection of vintage LPs, assorted clothing and jewelry plus much more. My wife and I ordered ice cream which was delicious. She especially liked the açaí dish. Tried some of hers and it was , indeed, superb. The staff were ultra friendly and helpful.

Got the "ma" acai bowl both delicious and filling. My kids also really enjoyed their shakes. Staff was nice and the shade in the back was a vibe. Definitely recommend.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST STOP BY if you are in Kill Devil Hills, NC. The best milkshake I've ever had and super clean with really friendly staff. Don't miss out. There shop is both eclectic and delicious!

Awesome soft-serve, cool ethically-sourced gifts, friendly staff! I also cannot overstate how excited I was to see this company using compostable bowls and cutlery- there are so many businesses still using styrofoam which is devastating to the environment. Thank you for being environmentally conscious!! It does not go unnoticed! Will definitely be visiting again :)

I'm not really a boutique shop kinda gal (came for the 🍦) but this is such a beautiful space! Real classy. Great music, real chill outdoor space, deeeeelicious fairly priced milkshakes. Was not crowded close to closing time when Big Bucks was packed. Will come back with little man for sure.

Omg I wish I lived in this adorable shop! :) They have everything, candles, gifts, clothing, skateboards, candy, chocolate, smoothies, soft serve ice cream! We came for the ice cream, it was delicious and we loved the good vibes of this gem of a shop!!

Wonderful clothing (new & vintage), vinyl, sweet treats (ice cream & milkshakes) all in one very cool shop. The backyard outdoor area is very well done.

Good: One of the best shakes I've ever had. Got peachy and vanilla. Great decor and selection of old candy. Staff very nice.

Bad: paper straw disintegrated before I could finish my shake... Which was in a plastic cup. Seems contradictory.
